About Mark Warner

Dr. Xianghong Jasmine Zhou is the Professor of Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Institute for Quantitative and Computational Bioscience University of California at Los Angeles.  She received her education at the University of Tuebingen, Germany, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), and Post-doctoral Fellow in Biostatistics Department of Biostatistics at Harvard University. Her area of research is focused on computational biology and bioinformatics, with an emphasis on computational integrative genomics. Precision Medicine, the use of a patient’s genomic information, to offer more precise and targeted treatment is the goal of her study.  Over the past year she and her team have been working on non-invasive methods of cancer diagnosis and monitoring based on “liquid biopsy”: the detection of circulating free DNA released by tumors into the blood.  Early results of her study yield an ability to detect and locate tumors through DNA analysis.
