Erik Enquist heads Crain’s political coverage, pens the masthead editorials and edits Crain’s Insider, a blog that has long been a must-read for government officials, business leaders and political junkies in New York. Before coming to Crain’s, Erik wrote a weekly political column for Courier-Life Publications for which he was named “Best Political Columnist” in New York by the Village Voice. Previously he spent four years reporting for daily newspapers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, covering education, development and municipal government. Erik has won two National Headliner Awards and was the lead writer for two series that won the New Jersey Press Association’s top public service award in consecutive years. He grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and still resides there with his wife and their twin boys, born in 2000.
