Speaker 1 What is today’s former Congressman Peter King and lived in New York all his life, a congressman for twenty eight years, born in the Bronx on Manhattan and one of us Congressman King, what is up this weekend that upsets you and and not going right?

Speaker 2 Well, surely a lot going on. Actually, I was born in Manhattan, raised in Queens, went to college and high school in Brooklyn, and I’ve been in Essa County for over fifty years now. And so you know, New York is in my book one way or the other. And what’s going on is really I think so much happening

is damaging to New York. I mean, just this week you realize all the un trafficking, all the people in that New York is the you know, the capital of the world. But it’s going to be faster than losing that title for so many people moving out from the migrant is hue Suaten Island and what we’re seeing out

in Queens near the national county border and just the thousands of migrants coming in illegally is a rink going to have a economic impact on the city, is going to have an impact as far as housing, as far as services as far as quality of life, and then you add to that or you know, the marijuana.

Speaker 1 And then public well we got the marijuana problem. President Biden refused to meet with Mayor Adams and then he met with Governor Hockel and declared, uh uh. The Venezuelans as you know, automatic uh automatic immigrants. What’s the right name.

Speaker 2 Yeah, yeah, Basically, you know, they’re entirely work forez is right away, they can be higher, they can get jobs right away. And the fact is they came in the country illegally. There’s thousands of them here, and you know, they’re jumping the line of other people who are waiting to come in illegally stay here illegally. And even though

they say it only applies to people who came before July thirty, first, this has to look like an incentive to other illegal immigrants succeed. Its so people who think of being illegal immigrants and they can get in the country, they ask for asylum and basically they end up staying forever, and they can take jobs, jobs, which you know some

Americans might want, certainly immigrants who all come in illegally you’ll be looking for. And yet they for whatever reason, whatever philosophical reason, the rest of reason. People like the governor and certainly the presidents who has opened up the borders, are able to in their mind to be able to justify allowing these people stay here. And also we see with

that is just say break down in the regardless of the law. And as you said, he wouldn’t need The President did not meet with the mayor. Now you know, you’re right, could disagree with the mayor on certain things, but he is the mayor and the fact is that he is the legal representative of New York and New

York is being overwhelmed. New York City is being overwhelmed with the migrant issue, of the migrant problem, with all of the issues that go with it. And yet the president who created this problem wouldn’t even meet with the mayor, who is the one who has to deal with it.

So while I’ve been critical and you’ve been critical of the way the mayor has handled as the fact is that if he doesn’t get help with the President, he’s not going to be able to solve it at all.

He’s not gonna be able to resolve it. So this to me was a real swap of the face by the President to Mayor Adams, and matter what political party were in, we should stand with the mayor that the President should have met with him. Now what we see down Staten Island and to me, it’s really unfortunate because

you have the migrasty pushed into good, quiet, residentral neighborhoods and causing the people to rise back, rise up in the fight back. Then they end up basically in disputes and arguments with the police was just doing their job there.

So we can’t allow ourselves to be divided by this progressional policy which is harmful to everyone and certainly hapful to people in those communities. I mean, you have really a good, family oriented community in Staten Island and to have people just busted in and dropped in and see citizens homes and schools and everything else is just so damaging.

So you had all that for us the privateshroe in New York. We have in case just the other day where some guy hit a homeless person with a baseball bat, hit him in the head of a baseball bat, knocked him down as the guy who was walking down the street, and the judges went him out. He’s not He’s going

to spend a day in jail. This is absolute disgraceful. What kind of a signals that. So there’s a lot going wrong, and uh, the Yankees of the Mets are not going to make the World Series. So right now it’s not too optimistic. But John, you know, you always say we have to trying to be optimistic and go forward.

We are still the number one city in the world. We’re got to it’s all weekend to keep it that way and keep so many people with money from moving out and the revenue based leaving and housing being depleted.

All of these things, Uh, really have to be addressed, and unfortunately’re not being addressed.

Speaker 1 Understood Sunday morning. What else would you like to talk about? I mean, it’s it’s just so many problems. Did we talk about. Governor Hockel assigned a bill that I don’t think it’s legal, but that you’re biling ballots in instead of going to a vote.

Speaker 2 Yeah, try it. First of all, I believe it does by way to say constitutions, but to me, you all, we can to make sure that people vote on election day because that means they’ve seen the entire campaigns, they’ve informed vote and by going there on election day, people are their vote is an honest vote and no one

is finally a vote for the vote. Now, having you said that, we’ve always had to keep out program in New York. But if you have a reason why you can’t be there on election day where you’re going to be sick or you’re traveling, you’re gonna be away, then you can apply for an absolutely travel if that makes sense.

But to be giving basically everyone the right to vote, absen see that leaves itself open to corruption for harvesting of votes or local clubs, be going around with clubs signing people up to vote, having people vote and then mailing them in. It goes against the to me, the don’t amountic system or a small d And also it

lends itself either to corrupts yourself or people thinking that the corruptions just happening, because again there’s nothing like going there, checking in at the desk, be cleared, cassing your vote on election day rather than a month or so before just mailing it in, mailing in a balance and maybe the local Democrat or Republican leader that gains you. So

now it’s this is just lends yourself to corruption. And again, whether I like it or not or support it or not, The reality is I believe in my race to say constitutions understood.

Speaker 1 Uh Well, Congress from Peter King, thank you for everything you’ve done for our country and continue to speak out for our country, and we’ll catch up with you again real soon.

Speaker 2 Yes, she’s very night, Monday night. Thanks a last thank you about it
