Interview Highlights
On being named NYS chair of Marco Rubio’s presidential campaign: “Marco Rubio is a new generational leader with fresh ideas…he has the passion and energy to bring the Republican Party and nation forward…we can’t keep electing leaders of the past.”
Rubio is the first top tier GOP presidential candidate to support the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Reauthorization Act. This shows he has “an understanding of all corners of this nation, including New York.”
Regarding the NYC Municipal ID card program and those not in the country legally being able to obtain them: “NYC needs to stop this immediately.” There is a big security concern with this program as anyone “can come to NYC and check into a homeless shelter for 14 days and get authorization from the shelter that they are a city resident and then qualify to get this NYC ID card. This is troublesome especially when we have people crossing our borders, some claiming to be refugees.”
A provision in the NYC municipal ID program law “allows the City of New York in December 2016 to destroy any documents that individuals used to apply for the ID cards. We are going to destroy these documents so we don’t know who we gave these ID cards to. This was done for political reasons ..in case a Republican President is elected in 2016 to protect the identity of those living here illegally from being deported.”
