About Patrick Lynch

Patrick Lynch is the President of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) a union for more than 23,000+ beat cops in the city’s five boroughs. Lynch joined the NYPD in 1984. He earned three Exceptional Police Duty awards and also received an Exceptional Merit citation for his actions during a shoot-out with criminals. He began his union career in 1989 – in the 90th Precinct in Williamsburg – Brooklyn. In 1999 – Pat led an insurgent team of reform-minded delegates who fought against that corruption and – won the presidency of the NYC PBA – the world’s largest police union. After working without a contract for 5 years, President Lynch has has worked out new agreement with the City Administration in January of 2017 which seems to satify the union.
