Jay Timmons – Suing oil companies over climate change a waste of time

Jay Timmons is president and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and chairman of the board of The Manufacturing Institute. Timmons is a leading advocate for the nearly 12 million Americans employed directly in manufacturing, educating the public and policymakers on issues that affect this critical sector of the U.S. economy.  Prior to his appointment as NAM president in 2011, Jay was executive vice president and senior vice president of policy and government relations. His previous experience includes serving as chief of staff to Governor and US Senator George Allen (R-VA) from 1991-2002, a term as executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2004 election cycle, and as press secretary to Congressman Jim Martin (R-NC) and Alex McMillan (R-NC). He is also on the board of the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform.  Timmons is a member of the Washington Humane Society board of directors and served as its chairman from 2006 to 2010.
