Speaker 1 An update on what’s going on in Aubany in the State Senate. But this is a good friend. His name is a state Senator, Burrell Seeye. I got it right, and he’s up near the Buffalo area. And the last time you were with us in our studio, you said you’re gonna win back the supermajority. Tell us what happened.

Speaker 2 So we broke the super majority in the state Senate, which means the Democrats no longer have a veto proof supermajority. This is significant. It brings us to the table and hopefully sets the stage for us to recruit a good Republican candidate for governor and move this state back towards balance and common sense. So we’re very excited to go

back and advocate for the things that are most important to New Yorkers, like affordability.

Speaker 1 Well, you could break, you could stop the supermajority. That’s the good news. Yes, the bad news is, well not bad news yet, but the governor has to cooperate and come up with common sense so herself. Is that correct?

Speaker 2 Yes, but you know now they no longer negotiate with that threat of being able to override a vido. So my hope is that that she will do that, and you know she was originally a moderate. But ultimately it’s incumbent upon New Yorkers to send the message to Albany that, you know that they’re fed up with the rise in crime,

the loss of affordability, and the fact that people are fleeing our state more so than the other. The govern needs to step up and be a leader.

Speaker 1 Now, can’t we keep going? What the heck is going on? It is a new sheriff in town. Is a new president? Sought’s on January twentieth and two o’clock, you know, But the rumor is that he’s already performing a lot of things as the foreign leaders are respecting him as the future president.

Speaker 2 Absolutely, you’re seeing that already he has certainly re established himself as the leader of the free world. Our current president is m I a ands.

Speaker 1 No, he’s in the Amazon someplace. I heard that he’s And he gave a billion dollars to Angola.

Speaker 2 Yeah, I don’t. He’s trying to force as many things out the door as possible. He’s also trying to, you know, I think pay off a lot of his friends with a lot of these green energy boondoggles that ultimately are going to cost taxpayers billions and billions with you know, with no return on that investment. So my hope is

the Trump administration will take a more common sense approach and we will look at restoring common sense again to our federal government.

Speaker 1 And that’s all we want now, going back to common sense. And I yell about it all the time. The quality of life in New York the quality of life right now, I gotta talk about New York City. Europe state, your quality of life is not as bad as all. We’re having a bad shape down here in New York City.

You know, people are being thrown off the subway tracks. People are I mean, it’s just one big crime problem. Yes, hopefully with the new police commissioner, maybe should be tougher. But you guys have to change in law. Well you know what’s the matter with what’s going on with the Assembly in the state Senate.

Speaker 2 So I think people are realizing that Democrats continue to push out pro criminal policies one after another. Now talking about elder parole, which means that once you reach a certain age you’ll be eligible for parole. We have radical members of the parole board that will release violent felons onto our streets just simply because they’ve reached a certain age.

So the people of New York need to say no, enough is enough. This election was a rejection of those progressive policies, and we see that even here in New York. You saw people reject the far left of the progressive policies of criminal coddling. And we are going to shout that from the rooftops. It’s about affordability, it’s about crime,

and it’s about restoring law and order to New York State.

Speaker 1 I agree with you one hundred and ten percent. Now, in addition to that, so you broke the super majority, we just needed common sense the governor to act with common sense to make sure what are the big problems in albeding right now? I mean this electric stuff that’s going on. I don’t think you have enough power. What

say you?

Speaker 2 No, not at all. And also you have something called Act essentially the Clean Truck Act, which has been devastating. It’s basically going to put truck dealers out of business without taking a single diesel fuel vehicle off the roads because they’ll simply be based in other states like New York and New Jersey and Pennsylvania that’s servicing New York.

You’ve got the electrification, we’re canceling natural gas. This is the governor’s plan that the Heat Act will come back again. You know, she put her paws on congestion pricing only to hit the play button literally the day after the election, to try to get that forced down the throats of the people, particularly downstate that already suffer enough. And now

she’s throwing out some table scraps with this idea of three hundred dollars and five hundred dollars you know, inflation reduction checks that ultimately are dropping the bucket compared to the fact that she has made New York much more expensive, whether it’s energy, whether it’s food, transportation costs, the cost of living, taxes. You know, this is this is nothing

but a bribe to try to prop up her sagging poll numbers.

Speaker 1 I think I heard her poll numbers are very very low.

Speaker 2 I mean, yeah, yeah, she’s in Biden territory. So and we see where that got him.

Speaker 1 Yes, absolutely, So we talked about congestion pricing. Now I hear and I don’t know if it’s the state or the city they want to take fifth out of you which is congested and take go from five lanes down to three lanes.

Speaker 2 Whom doing that well, first of all, doing that across the state they called a road diet, which means we’re going to bottle neck things and make it worse. You know, I’ll tell you I’ve been here in New York City several times recently. You’re taking your life in your hands when you when you step off that curb because of

all these you know, electric bikes that are just win you know, whizzing by not following any of the traffic rules. You know, it’s making it more difficult and it’s gonna make it worse, not better to get around the city.

Speaker 1 Understood. Anything else you want to tell the people in the city or state or any place in the world, because we are reaching you know, on Sunday mornings especially, we are worldwide.

Speaker 2 Well, you know, I would say, God bless the fact that we have Donald Trump returning the common sense, law and order and the rule of law is going to return to the United States, and New York and State needs to participate in that. Kathy Hokl is going to stand in the way of Ice and the Trump administration

to deport criminals, people that have been convicted of heinous crimes against the people of New York. She wants to stand away in of those deportations, and I think she will pay a political price for that.

Speaker 1 Well, thank you so much, Santor Barrello, and stay warm up in Buffalo. That’s from your area.

Speaker 2 Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas.

Speaker 1 In a happy New Year. Thank you.
