Michael, tell us about your company, tell us about your dreams about fixing New York and bringing New York back to where it was now.
But first I got to apologize Toieve because you know, at the last election when I voted, I wrote your name in for president, but I think I started your last name wrong, so it’s probably why you lost. I’m sorry.
Well, I wasn’t qualified to run because I was born on the other side and my father was six months late to bring me to this country. So you know, I don’t want to blame my father that he was six months late. I hear you. Well look, so look.
Yes, we’re a very large, multi industry company. We’re the twenty first largest landowners of the United States. But we’re very patriotic and we’re very very philanthropic. Our site on the West Side where we hope want day to build an editary, integrated resort at a casino. The last year we’ve donated to the city by establishing an outdoor art exhibit,
the largest in the history of the city. We had over eighty thousand visitors to the Field of Lights. Our next step, now that that has it ended, is we’re going to build something called the Path to Liberty, that which unites us. And this is a prequel to a very important occasion in this country. In twenty twenty six,
we’re going to celebrate our two hundred and fiftieth birthday, the signing of the Declaration of Independence. And this is not so much about democracy, because democracy is nothing more than a former government and people don’t trust government. This is about life, liberty, pursuit of happiness. This is about how people in this country have been successful because of
the underlying principles of democracy, freedom of religion, freedom of press, all of the freedoms that we enjoy not because of what government gives us, but because of what the people are inspired to do with the freedoms they have. So New York City, for me, as a born and bred in New York or Brooklyn, I is the center of
the universe. And if we can’t explore the importance of the two hundred and fifty year anniversary in New York, where else we’re going to do it.
You’re absolutely right in I will tell you there are a few politicians in orbity that do not respect the quality of life of New Yorkers. And I completely keep telling them that. The fact is that New Yorkers the greatest city of the world. There’s thirty three hundred repeat criminals.
Why are they supporting the thirty three hundred repeat criminals versus the quality of life of eight Mathley in New Yorkers? Can you figure that out out?
You know, Unfortunately, politicians it’s a profession. Politics has become a profession rather than rather than something to improve the lives of people, it’s often about improving their own lives. How do we win our next election? What special interest that we have to count out too? And it’s just not what this country was built upon. Our representatives. Look,
you’re talking, you know, let’s talk about immigration. Congress, if it really wanted to do something, could have passed universal immigration reform years ago. Why hasn’t it done that Because they don’t think it’s in their political interest to do that.
To do that, they don’t think it’s in the best interests of their careers. And that’s what it is. We have career politicians rather than people who really represent us.
Michael. The one additional thing that I’ve been saying is only a pro immigration. I was vice chairman of Ellis Island Foundation, along with the chairman Bill for Gays, along with the Honorary Chaman Lei Coca, and we said, yes, we want immigration, but we need to bring in immigrants that we want to love America. They want to work hard,
and they want to become a success like our families did. You don’t have to be a citizen to be an American.
I don’t care what your religion is. I don’t care what your racist. I don’t care whether you’re born wealthy or poor. I don’t care where you were born. If you have the spirit of America, if you love what we love about being Americans, feel free to call yourself an American. But if you want to come here to
take advantage of the system to commit crimes, you better think twice, particularly with this new administration coming into office.
Michael. One other questions, can you figure out why the Homeland Security people allowed criminals and murderers to come in unchecked?
Well, first and foremost, they didn’t know who was coming in. Because we don’t have appropriate security in place. We don’t have due diligence to be able to figure out who is coursing the border, why they’re crossing the border, and when they’re crossing the border. Essentially, we have open borders, so it’s not about who they’re letting in. It’s just
a fact of life that people are coming up here to either better themselves or to take advantage of the system.
The additional buzzword that I’ve come up with because I believe in telling the truth is immigration. Yes, invasion, No, we don’t want our country invaded, but we certainly want immigrants in the work hard. Yeah.
So look, you’re right, because look we own massive farm agricultural land out west and ranching land if it weren’t for immigrants. And you know, I have to say this illegal immigrants, because there’s no farm in the United States of any size that can operate without having illegal immigrants.
And that sence Congress has set it up, so we have to violate the law. We have no choice.
Now, if you get.
Rid of all of the illegal im immigrants in this country, you better stockpile food because there’s going to be no one out west or anywhere else in this country working agriculture.
Well, that’s why, Michael, when I had dinner a couple of months ago with the President Trump, prisoner Electrump, I said to him, let’s not let’s not get rid of twenty million immigrants. Let’s get just let’s get rid of the criminals and murderers. And I believe he has given that order to a new bordersap. He knows that. Look,
look he.
In some of his businesses he used illegal immigrants. He knows that that it’s important to have these people to do tasks that other people in our country don’t want to do or can’t do. He’s smarter in that way.
And so I think you’re right. I think that he’s going to concentrate on getting the rid of the people in this the immigrants in this country who don’t deserve to be here.
Michael Hirshman, I believe if you continue this conversation every week and allow our city, our state, our country to become the free world of the free world of the world. And we love our city, and we’ve got to give our city, make a big comeback in our city where people are coming back to New York, not leaving New York.
God bless God, bless America, God bless you, and let’s work hard together.
All right, my friend, you take care
