Speaker 1 Sunday Morning with us today is the former Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy, one good friend, one smart guy. Well, mister speaker, Uh, what kind of mess are we in in the United States of America. I mean, I can’t believe some of the things going on, mister speaker.

Speaker 2 I can’t either. I mean, if you just look back this week, we’re just coming off of tragic hurricane that’s sitting in Georgia, and they went through Florida, they went through North Carolina, the devastation, and another one this week coming into Florida, and then I just destruck me just and we’re looking to be prepared for the future.

Speaker 3 I just I’ve watched Amla Harris in times of this is when you see leadership, right, and I just don’t see it during these Christis moments.

Speaker 1 Mister speaker. I can’t understand how FEMA could say we don’t have any money to help the American people that are suffering from the Hurricane Helene or hurricane that just happened.

Speaker 2 Yeah, they have the money because Congress just went through the Continuing Resolution, and when it does that, it puts a whole new bucket of money inside there, billions of dollars. Now I need to come back as it takes time for the states to go. But there is no there should be nothing slowing up today from providing the resources

they need because they have resources there. That’s a concern. But as the states start to build out, they’ll have to come back, but they’ll actually come back looking and knowing what with a whole evaluation of what helped they’ll desire.

Speaker 1 I mean, they were out there distributing checks for seven hundred and fifty dollars for the people that are suffering in North Carolina. And first of all, what are you going to do with the seven hundred and fifty dollars if you lost your home? It’s just mind boggling.

Speaker 2 Well that’s just tentative money. But the concern I had was the speed of when people would come to help. I mean, you need them, and you can’t be picking and choosing. I mean I watched where FEMA a while back was doing training for DEI. When someone is going through a disaster, it doesn’t mean the color of their skin,

the sexuality, their wealth or whatever. They need help. They don’t have electricity, they don’t have water, they don’t have the essentials. That’s concerning to me when FEMA can’t provide that that’s what they’re supposed to be there for.

Speaker 1 It’s just I cry for our American people in North Carolina and Tennessee, Kentucky, wherever the heleen hit and wherever in Florida would happened in the last few days.

Speaker 2 Yeah, it’s really devastating. But you watch Florida now, this is a sign of better leadership. They prepared ahead of time, They warned the people to get out, they prepositioned equipment that they need, and they’re getting right back in there.

I mean, that’s what a good sign of leadership takes place. But I will tell you, look, we’re just a few weeks away from making one of the biggest decisions we’re going to make for quite some time on the leadership in America, and I will tell you I feel more upbeat that change is coming. I Mean, what was very

interesting this week is when Kamala Harris was asked would she have done anything different than Joe Biden, and she said in her softball interviews that she could not think of one thing. So it’s just more of the same.

It’s more inflation, more wide open borders, more failure when it comes to foreign policy in America. And so from my standpoint and another in seeing thing that I found from the Gallup poll and now the NBC, they don’t ask the question about who you’re going to support. They asked the question that was really changing than we’ve seen

in the past, who do you identify? With more people identified with Republican than Democrat. Now this is the first time of that happening. Only in two thousand and four was it even but from a forty eight to forty five percent. And then they also asked the other question, which most of your listeners ask every day, who’s best

to solve the problems? And they said the Republicans. So we got a unique opportunity. If you want to change the direction of where America is going, there’s only one person, Donald Trump. Because Kabla Harris, in her own words, said she would do nothing different. And remember she was in the room for these decisions. She was the last person

in the room that made the decision that brought thirteen Gold Star families from America that never should have been.

Speaker 1 I agree one percent because, Uh, the old joke he used to say on the radio was, uh, Donald Trump terrorized the terrorists instead of the terrorists terrorizing Americans.

Speaker 2 It was the only time Pluton ever invaded another country.

Speaker 1 Yep, and the only time North Korean leader showed respect. Yeah. Yeah, listen, let’s go. You know, President Trump certainly is superior. I mean the in the Cardinals dinner coming up next week, Harry has refused to show up for Cardinal Dolan in New York to the famous Al Smith dinner.

Speaker 2 I mean, yeah, the only other the only other modern person to do that running for president was Mandal and that didn’t turn out so well for him.

Speaker 1 He only lost forty nine states.

Speaker 2 Yeah, but the one state he won, Pamala Picks Picks the governor from Minnesota, the one state Reagan did not win. She thinks that will help. Look, I really believe this election is coming down to Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania really is the state to watch. And when you think about it, Pennsylvania is a pretty big union state, but those union workers are supporting Trump. The other thing that came out this week was when the Teamsters wouldn’t make an endorsement if you didn’t make it, if they didn’t make an endorsement, when they give sixteen million of

their dollars to Democrats and three hundred thousands of Republicans. That is an endorsement. That’s an endorsement against Kamala Harris and for President Trump.

Speaker 1 And well, so what happened with the long shoremen when they were pushed and I think they’re supporting Trump was more so than Harris.

Speaker 2 Well, you know the workers are if you put the vote to the workers, and they had done that. Remember, they had took the vote to the workers in overwhelm me. So that leadership knew they don’t want to get in front of a trade wreck.

Speaker 1 Absolutely correct. Now, the other thing we have to worry about is if it’s going to cost three hundred billion dollars to the Iranians that they’re going to be worth nothing again, will they try to assassinate President Trump again?

Speaker 2 I’ll tell you what. We cannot allow Iran to dictate what’s happening. And this is why when you have strong leadership, when you stick up for the for what you believe. And just as we have on the books about Iran not being able to sell their oil, and what did Biden Harris do and she did she said she wouldn’t

have changed the policy allowing Iran to go from four hundred thousand barrels a day to three million. That’s where they got the resources to supply Hamas and the Houthis that are their proxies, and the Hesbalah that goes in attacks in the Middle East. So if you like what’s going on that way, that’s where it was driven from.

And Kamala Harris in her own words, said she would have done the same thing.

Speaker 1 That is mind boggling. And I had General Keen on last Sunday or the Sunday before, and I said, why isn’t the Commander in Chief Joe Biden opening up the Suez Canal and opening up the Red Sea and then oil would come down ten or fifteen dollars a barrow.

And I could feel the pain in his heart. He says, I don’t know, John, He said, I don’t know, because we could open up the Suez Canal and the Red Sea in seventy two hours. Yep.

Speaker 1 It’s just mind boggling.

Speaker 2 Somebody else to decide the policies for America.

Speaker 1 Somebody else is designing the policy right now, and it’s very sad. And Harris has said that she’s going to follow the same policy Yep.

Speaker 2 It’s more of the same, more and more inflation, same economic policy said, more failure. When it comes to foreign policy, which we’ve watched five embassies, American embassies had to evacuate. We watched that this president gave up a base in Africa and let Russia have it. We watched the decision when he wouldn’t listened to the military and created thirteen

gold Star families, and his failures of how he handled Afghanistan. I mean time after time. You know, I don’t believe. I don’t believe Ukraine would have ever been invaded, never any supplied weapons ahead of time. It wasn’t happening under President Trump.

Speaker 1 We’s got a minute left. What else would you like to tell the American people. It’s only went twenty four twenty three for twenty four days to the election.

Speaker 2 I’ll tell you what we are blessed to all live in America. I think you need to respect each other’s opinion. But the number one thing I think you need to do is vote, and you’ve got to get your vote in early. And I think if you want change, there’s only one person there for you. And if you want

to sit back, don’t get fearful about voting for Trump, because you know what, Tulca Gabber, who ran for president on the Democratic side, she’s endorsed RFK. There’s no stronger Democratic family than the Kennedys because they want to see change.

They’re frustrated in this direction. Join and be part of the change and be something bigger than yourself, because America is too great to have another leader that will only do the exact same thing of the failed decisions we had for the last four.

Speaker 1 Will you agree, Speaker Kevin McCarthy, thank you so much for your common sense and we’ll catch up again real soon. Thank you.
