With the Inspector General’s report into the Russia investigation out, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, former Deputy Assistant to President Trump, joined The Cats Roundtable to discuss the fallout, as well as give his case as to why you should get out and vote in the historical 2020 presidential elections. He also discussed his new book, The War for America’s Soul.
The former military intelligence officer called the revelations of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report proof of “a silent coup.”
The Inspector General’s investigation revealed that FISA court filings into former Trump associate Carter Page, by U.S. intelligence agencies, contained flaws and omissions. The FISA documents made use of an unverified dossier provided by a former British intelligence agent, Christopher Steele, whose funding by the Democratic presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, was not mentioned to the courts.
Gorka condemned the findings.
“This is the kind of thing you expect maybe in Venezuela or Cuba,” he told The Cats Roundtable.
The FISA documents were signed off by leaders in the DOJ, the FBI, and FISA, such as former Director of the CIA, John Brennan, and former Director of the FBI, James Comey. As to whether the buck stops with them, Gorka is confident justice will climb the pyramid if it has to. Though he says he isn’t in “the prediction business,” according to Gorka, it’s all but impossible that President Obama didn’t have some sort of say in the matter.
“Let Attorney General Barr and John Durham do their work,” he said, citing the ongoing investigation by Attorney General Barr and U.S. Attorney Durham into the handling of the Trump-Russia investigation.
If there was one message Gorka wanted to leave for his viewers, it was that the next year will be historical.
“This is the most consequential election of your lifetime,” he said. Citing the Mueller Report, the declarations by media organizations and Democratic leaders since President Trump’s inauguration calling for his impeachment, Gorka calls listeners to arms. Or to the polls, more accurately.
For supporters of the President, the need to turn out in support of Trump’s re-election is paramount.
“The choice is very simple in 2020,” he said, “but also you have to be part of the solution.”
