Has the FBI been weaponized?
Transcript
Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning. What’s going on with our justice system in America or with us? This morning is James Gagliano, former FBI twenty five years there, supervisory special Agent, a west Pointer, a person that loves America. Well, good morning, James. Where do we begin. I mean, there’s been so much criticism of the justice system lately in America and that there’s
two forms of justice, whether you’re a Democrat or Republican. And that’s not the way your Constitution is written, that’s not the way Bill of Rights is written. Give us your thoughts and experience of what’s going on in the last five years.
Well, John, great, first of all, great to join you, and you and I have talked about the FBI, and obviously it’s heralded history. It’s been around since nineteen oh eight, started as the Bureau of Investigation. Then that morphed into the Department of Investigation, and in nineteen twenty four a twenty nine year old kid by the name of Jake
or Hoover took over the helm and a few years later the quote unquote modern FBI was birthed. And look, in our history, you’ve done some amazing things. I mean, it is still considered the premier law enforcement agency, not just in this country but in the world. But it seems like, and you mentioned the last five years, I’d
even venture to say, go back the last eight years, to say twenty sixteen, where the impression has been given that that FBI agents at senior levels and we’re not talking about the twelve thousand men and women who make up the FBI ranks. The vast majority of them are solid patriots. They follow the evidence, bereft of fear or favor,
and they just go where the bad guys are.
We’re talking to Washington Office. We’re talking Washington Office. Is it politicized?
Well, you know, in Washington, you know folks that want to get promoted and folks in the FBI. And I say, as you mentioned, I spent twenty five years there, a half of my lifetime in the FBI. And yes, you could argue that a number of the folks that moved and got promoted and went to the Washington Field Division
down in Washington, d C. We’re doing it so they could jump back and forth between FBI headquarters in the Washington Field Office and quickly touch base and then get back and move up the ranks. Without staying in any position for a long time. And John, you kind of nailed it. That’s a big part of the problem is
the promotion system that the FBI has, And I think you saw that really really become exacerbated during the James Comierra, which began, you know, in the twenty fifteen twenty sixteen era.
Well, the key thing that shocked me it was, I mean, I agree with you, ninety nine point nine percent of FBI agents across the country are loyal Americans that love America and fight hard for America. It’s the political politicization of what’s going on in Washington. It seems like Washington not only the FBI, but it’s an overall mess. Uh
And and you know, and I tell people, you know what I tell people of James that it’s not about being a Democrat, not about being a Republican. It’s about being an American and worrying about our country first before you worry about any political outfit. It came to light last week in Congress that the FBI was holding back
three point four million documents from the relationship of President Biden, or that at that time Vice President Biden and his son Hunter and China and that Hunter got paid how do you say boku dollars for consultings, whether it was consultings in Ukraine or consumptings in China. And listen, my big worry is that the decisions that Hunter got paid.
I don’t care. I personally don’t care. But the fact is, did it cost our country so to say, a trillion dollars because of bad decisions because of those payments?
Sure well, John, you’re describing what is known in the legal realm as influence peddling. Everybody recognizes that Hunter Biden is not someone skilled to discuss the oil industry or to discuss foreign policy, order to discuss many of the topics and subjects that he was placed on boards like the board of Barisma to weigh in on. We understand,
at least say people on both sides of the aisle understand that this was clearly a case where Hudson Hunter Biden was the conduit to Joe Biden as vice president. And you mentioned a couple of the countries you mentioned Ukraine and China. Heckett was also Russia, it was also Kazakhstan, it was also Romania. And the Biden family and their
associates through this influence. Pedling have made upwards of twenty million dollars million dollars through these arrangements. And yeah, you can argue and say, look, Jimmy, it’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove. Where’s the proof? And I know Congress is looking into this. You mentioned that that tranch of documents that the FBI’s were lead released through
a freedom of information law request, and John, we will see where it goes. But man, I got to say, if it walks like a duck quacks like a duck, in my experience, it’s generally a duck.
I asked the questions and nobody had an answer. Yet, you know, at that time of those three point four million documents, it was President Obama was president, and in twenty seventeen, President Trump was president. I’ve asked President Trump and he never got those documents. The question is did the FBI turn it over to President Obama? And who
knew what and when?
Well, I can tell you as a as a mayor of a small upstate New York village, and we have in New York State, we have the Freedom of Information Act. It’s called FOYA, which is similar to what FOIL is the freedom of information law that the FEDS use. These things take time and that I understand, and like when
somebody puts in a request for documents, I know that the FBI gets foiled all the time, and they literally have a division that handles us down at FBI headquarters. It is a it is a exhausting It takes a ton of time. Now when it comes to these documents, and especially when they’re requested by Congress, that’s where the
argument becomes in those documents should be placed in a priority type of position and handed over immediately, and it can appear. And I’m not suggesting I know any inside information here that things are being or could be slow walk, but information like this that’s going to be released is the painstaking part of the process shown is redactions, meaning
people have to go through it and make sure that we’re not giving away any state secrets. We’re not sharing you know, sources and methods, things that could imperil people that are cooperating with US or put agents and operatives across the globe in danger. But man, it does seem, like like I said before, there is a lot of
things here that are going to come to light because the obvious look of this, this influence peddling, and that’s what it is. It’s Joe Biden denying that, you know, that he had anything to do with his son Hunter’s business dealings, and yet we have evidence through phone calls and what’s app messaging that that proves. Otherwise, we have
Tony Bobolinski who’s come out and testified in front of Congress. Otherwise. So this is the thing where you know, the Republicans are doing their due diligence and trying to bring this to light, but it does feel like there’s some stonewalling from the upper echelons of the Department of Justice.
Well, James, I’m sure, James Gagniano, I’m sure we’re not going to solve the problem this week. But like you said, it takes time. And the American people deserve the truth and that’s all we stand for. It deserve the truth and equal justice for or And that’s the other thing that I’m very you know, and people have to have
confidence in our system. And recently I was in Europe and I said to them, without a strong United States of America, Europe cannot exist. Because I believe that the United States of America is the secret to keeping the free world free and without the United States, it’s not going to happen, But James got me, and I’ll thank
you for everything you’ve done and continue to speak out and we’ll talk again real soon.
John sounds good. Thanks for having me.
