And the fact is that she was the first person Fox hired in nineteen ninety six, and she’s been with Fox for twenty eight years? Is it twenty three? I’ve got to do my calculations. Well, Lauren tell us.
Twenty eight years. I was actually the first on air person hired for Fox News Channel. So for the first person you saw, you know, the first people you see on the air was I was the first person hired for that. So yeah, twenty eight years, nineteen ninety six.
I can still remember my start date in nineteen ninety six, August fifth, nineteen ninety six.
Yeah, and that’s one of the most the most successful cable channel ever, I believe, isn’t it.
Well? They certainly did very well. And I have to credit Rod Rails for that because he really, really really did take this company from from absolutely nothing to you know, being number one for several several years. I mean, he just knew how to do it. So yeah, absolutely.
Now you wrote a new book, the Light for Today. Tell us why you wrote it and what is it about.
Well, this is actually a devotional which is just in time for Lent. Of course, the Greeks are having Lent a little later this year. The Greek Growth Box Eastern just made it. But for you know, Catholics and Protestants, we’re now really in Lent. And this is three hundred and sixty five day devotional. And this is something that
is personal for me because I read devotionals every day, the Bible every day. And what I found after I wrote my first book, Light House Faith, is that, you know, being close to God every day is something that you really almost have to think about. You have to sort of really get yourself into the mode of thanking God
for your life, thanking God for what happens during the day, and really understanding how God is working in your life. So after I wrote Light House Faith, I began writing these sort of thoughts for the day and kind of posting them on Facebook. And then after about three years, yeah, about two three years, I had like over four hundred
and fifty of these and I was just I don’t know what I’m going to do with these Maybe one day I’ll write a devotional. Who knows. And then like about a year and a half ago, almost two years ago, someone from broad Street approached me at the NRB which is a National Religious Broadcasters convention, and she said, you know,
have you ever thought about doing it a devotional? Well, just so happy things that I’ve got these thoughts for the day, and I think they can they could totably be edited very well into a nice devotional. So that’s all it came about. Yeah.
Wow, And I’ll tell you I am the highest lay person in America’s in the Greek Orthodox Church, and and I guess I do a lot of religion, and I also help put together the ecumenical portion of it with the Catholic Church and the Jewish community. And yes, I enjoy doing it because I personally believe there is a God,
because I think we’re much too we’re much too complicated that we didn’t have There wasn’t a creator that created this planet Earth and everything that goes along with it.
Well, the thing about the whole idea about is there a God or is there a not a God? And a lot of people don’t realize that there are many there are actually some very strong proofs of the existence of God, and many of the strongest come from science that in fact, I could just talk to you about.
You know. So the column the cosmological argument, which is something a twelfth century Muslim actually figured out, and it’s a very simple argument, just three points. It says, whatever exists has to happen the beginning. So the universe exists, so it must have a beginning. So that’s basically it.
And you know, centuries later, doctor William Lane Craig, who is an analytics philosopher and mathematicians and some degrees I can shake a steek. Actually, he has upgraded the argument to where he actually has written books. They’re scientific proofs.
It’s very very interesting what he’s come up with. But then there are other proofs too. There’s the taiological argument, the fine tuning argument, and that what to me is basically it blows my mind because they are just like one hundred like dials of our natural world are have to be set so specifically that if even one of
them is off by like a million, million, million, million, million millions, the world would just not exist. So I mean, yes, we are we here by chance. Yeah, you could you could actually kind of say that, But what science has shown us is that the more likely scenario is that it’s intentional and some.
Of it’s a creator. There was a creator no matter whether you whether you want to call them God, whether you want to call them Mohammed, and whether you want to call them anything you want, there was a creator.
I re it’s impossible to create the planet Earth. Yes, the.
Apostle Paul already said in the sense that he says, we all know there’s a God. We all know that there’s a God, but sometimes we suppress that truth because that you know, well, think about it, it’s too traumatic to even think about that there’s a god because no one is No one is you know, objective when it
comes to whether or not there’s a god, because it has such a great impact on us. If we if there’s a god, you know, then all of us you know, are you know, subject to that God.
So now should people buy your book? Give me what does your book talk about?
It just talks about every day kind of scenarios. What it does is that every day, every day of the year, you can there’s a scripture that heads it. There’s kind of an idea that’s behind it, and then a little scenario is something that happens in everyday life. And I think that’s what’s important about devotionals, about walking with God,
is that you see God in the every day understand that there is a creator God, right, so he created everything, even natural processes. So you know what for instance, you you know, the first miracle that Jesus performed, it was the wedding of cana In and he turned water into wine.
That’s the very first miracle he performed. But one of the things that you look at, you know, this is actually comes from c. F Luis and Pope Benedict and cringing out that you know, God turns water into wine all the time. It’s called rain, and the grapes grow, and you know, the wittner takes the grapes and ferments
them and then that becomes wine. That’s the process that we’re involved in. But you know, because God creates natural processes in order for us to live and to serve Him and to glorify him. Can he do miracles and do supernatural things outside of the natural process, Absolutely he can.
But the way to really understand him is through just the natural everyday life that we live. It’s and it’s really amazing to think in terms of that because it’s just so simple that way.
You know, Lauren, Lauren Green. I’m going to read your book for sure, and I just want to repeat the name of the book. It’s Light for Today by Lauren Green. Uh and uh you could buy it well Amazon, and you could buy the bonds of Noble.
Yes, absolutely, thank you so much. Yes, absolutely well, thank you.
And I urge my Lauren is a good friend, and I urge everybody, if you believe in God, buy the book. And Lauren Green, thank you so much for coming on w ABC this morning.
Thank you so much, and have a blessed stage, Han God bless
