Speaker 1 What is today is Alan Deushowitz, and he is one smart guy, one good friend, and wants the best for America. Fifty years, sixty years in Harvard and well you’ve been fighting ever since, Professor Deshowitz, you tell us this Democratic convention, what is your impression.

Speaker 2 It’s the most left leaning convention in American history. Clearly the Harris Party is more to the left than the Biden Party, which was more to the left than previous Democratic parties. It’s interesting that many, many Jews were invited to speak. Schumer was invited to speak, and emaff was invited to speak, and they did talk about anti Semitism,

but not a word about Israel. They’re so worried that if they mentioned the word Israel there’ll be booze. There were booze when there was an attempt changed the platform. The only mention indirect of Israel was when Biden spoke the first night and he talked about these thugs outside, these people who were ripping down fences and making anti

Semitic statements and cheering him off. And he said, well, you know, there are good points. They make good points on both sides, good points. You know, this is the same guy who said he ran for president because Trump had said they were good find people on both sides of what happened in Charlotte, Silva. Of course that’s not

what Trump said. Trump denounced the Nazis and anti Semis, and he just said there were good people on both sides of the debate about what to do with Roberty Lee’s monument. But Biden did say these guys made good points.

They don’t make good points. They’re biggots and racists, they’re anti American, they’re violent, and I don’t think it was good for the President of the United States to give his imprim tour. And also they invited AOC to speak.

What’s that about. AOC is also a bigot and a racist and un American. And if she’s the voice of the Young Democratic Party, that party is in real trouble.

Speaker 1 I understand. I’ve been watching it for three days, two days at least, and I just it seems like, you know, I’ve been going to Democratic conventions in the past, me too, and it just seems different this time of year.

Speaker 2 It does. I think it is different partly because the protest is Look, I was the lawyer in nineteen sixty eight during the Democratic convention. I was Bill Kunseler’s lawyer when he got in trouble and other people got in trouble, and that was a bad convention. But that was bad outside.

Inside was fine. This one is bad inside as well. There’s nobody speaking from the more uh you know, conservative, blue dog Democrat side. It’s very much a left wing convention. And you know, Americans aren’t left wing. Americans a centrist.

We want pragmatic leadership. We want a president who’s not ideological, whether on the right or on the left. And I just don’t think the Democrats sent that message. They sent the message of left wing ideology. A lot of people will seal both from them because of the alternative. But I don’t think it was a good convention from from uh,

from America’s point of view, understood?

Speaker 1 And what do you hear? What’s going on in Israel? Are they talking or they want to sit down? I understand On Thursday there was a Greek ship that was almost shut down by the hoodies.

Speaker 2 I mean, and that there’ll be more of that and and and.

Speaker 1 The Biden administration will will do nothing.

Speaker 2 Yeah, there’ll be more of that. Look, what’s going on in Israel? Is Israel cannot compromise on the issue of what’s called the Philadelphia Corridor. They cannot simply leave and allow Hamas to re harm through Egypt, rearmed through Egypt.

So they have to stand by that. Now, can the United States come up with an alternative? Can they figure out some way of preventing Hamas from bringing arms in? Maybe? And Israel did agree to the United States proposal for a bridging gap, and Hamas disagreed, And so none of the protesters ever condemn Hamas. There wasn’t a single statement

that the whole Democratic National Convention saying, oh, by the way, Israel has accepted the bridging agreement leading to a ceasefire, and it’s Hamas who’s rejected it. Nobody has put the blame on Hamas. People are saying there has to be a size to cease fire and it must be Israel’s fault.

That was not only the protesters with the people inside. Let’s tell the truth. The truth is Israel is willing to have a ceasefire and Hamas is not. Now Hamas has added one more thing. Sinwa has said, all right, all right, you want to have a ceasfire, you have to promise not to kill me, well, all right, surrender

and they won’t kill you. But if you’re a combatant and you’re leading the campaign to kill Israeli civilians, of course they’re going to target you either for arrest or for killing. And so that would be a deal breaker as well if Sinwa insisted on saving his own life at the expense of the life of innocent Gosins.

Speaker 1 And I just don’t understand how they they are allowing Iran to run things and who’s in charge of the White House.

Speaker 2 Well, there’s not a word at the whole Democratic invention about Iran. Muran is the head of the octopus. And you know, cutting off the arms of the octopus, they just regrow them. That’s true of an octopus, and that’s true of Iran. Even if Israel destroys Hamas and destroys has belonged to Joy’s, the houtis Iran will come up

with other surrogates to do the same thing, particularly if they ever managed to get a nuclear arsenal, then all the terrorist groups will be protected by the nuclear umbrella. And that’s why it was so important for the Democrats to mention Iran and to talk about how you can’t be sending money to Iran and facilitating them. How there

has to be an effort at regime change in Iran. That’s the only way to get piece in the Middle East is to have a change of regime in Iran. Hopefully that can come about without American involvement. You know, the vast majority of Ouranians want regime change. We just have to figure right away of facilitating that. And that

would be good for everybody in the region, especially the people of Iran, but certainly the people in the Gulf States and Israel as well. Iran is the real villain and you wouldn’t.

Speaker 1 Know that, and everybody knows that.

Speaker 2 Yeah, the Democrats, I’m going to give Democrats, they don’t seem to know that.

Speaker 1 I’m going to give you a big Biden is he’s sent their way to exile right now in California, right in he’s been accused. A joint committee has just said that that twenty seven million dollars looks like was taken.

And well, Iran is creating the problems in the Middle East. And you’ve got China, I understand from doctor Chang the other day. Gordon Chang is trying to attack the Philippines and they’re laying off Taiwan, and they’re going to be attacking the Philippines because they think they can make a move on it because there’s nobody at the White House

going to make it move back.

Speaker 2 Boy, that is scary. That is scary. I mean, if if you know, Russia is allowed to move into Ukraine, and China is allowed to move into the Philippines, and Iran is allowed to move into Yemen in other places, we’re really abdicating our responsibility. We’re not the policeman of the world, but as the greatest and strongest country in

the world, we have some responsibility to protect our allies, whether our allies are in the Philippines or Ukraine or Israel. Otherwise we lose all credibility and the villains, the tyrants, begin to take over the world. That’s what happened in the nineteen thirties and that can’t be allowed to happen again.

Speaker 1 Alan Dershowitz, you say a prayer this weekend in synagogue. I’ll say a prayer, I will light a candle in the church, and let’s hope and pray for our country in the world. Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 I agree with you. Thank you
