Speaker 1 Sunday morning, a new year has started, and where the heck is our country going? Today? We have somebody from the south. We have Senator Bill Cassidy from the great state of Louisiana. Well, Senator Cassidy, do you feel that we’re going our country is going to go in the right direction now that Trump is going to be president?

On January twentieth, two pm.

Speaker 2 Yeah, I do. Hey, John, thanks for having me on, and hello to all your listeners. Absolutely. If you look at the things that the American people were voting on, they’re voting about the uncontrolled border. Well, Trump is going to do a much better job than that than the Biden Harris administration. They’re concerned about the economy, specifically inflation.

I think that will become rained in. The Biden administration was increasing cost of things. Yes, we know the regular things, but also things like homeowners insurance. The homeowner’s insurance was pricing people out of the ability to own a home, not because of their mortgage, but because of their insurance.

But there’ll be other things that I think he’ll be interested in. Trump will be that will be beneficial. I am very interested in lowering the cost of health care. I should say, of medical insurance. I’m a doctor, you might guess i’d be concerned about that. I’ll be the chair of the Health, Education, Labor and Pinching Committee, and

so we’re going to be looking at price transparency. Of President Trump in the first administration, we work together on things that would bring in price transparency, for example the No Surprises Act, which by the way, was patterned after what was done in New York previously. So I think it’s going to be the border the economy, things like

price transparency. And I’d add to that AI. He’s shown a very big interest in AI. Obviously Musk is involved. Musk is going to be interested in AI. I think AI has the ability to improve government services and make them more efficient for the American people. That’s a good thing.

Speaker 1 Now you are a doctor, do you work closely with Selator Rand pool On? I mean, he is very angry and what went on during COVID and what happened with doctor Fauci.

Speaker 2 Yeah, So Rand and I are on the same Health Education, Labor pension. I’m the chairman, but he’s the next member down the DAIS and he’s going to be believe me, when it comes to things like price transparency. The President, rand I and others are going to be all in, and hopefully it’ll be bipartisan. This is something that the

American people should know. If you’re if your medical procedure is going to cost you this much, if you pay cash and it costs you that much more if you pay insurance, you should know that. And so so we’ll be united in that, and I think the administration will be all behind us.

Speaker 1 The doctor Fauci uh problem. Do you think he knew what was happening or do you think he was just hit it or what is your feelings?

Speaker 2 You know, I don’t have things swirl around about doctor Falci, which I’m not quite sure we can know. There clearly was money that went to some investigatory agency. This is to some granting information that then went down to Wuhan.

I’ve had people tell me who are incredibly knowledgeable that this was not a lab leaque. This was truly it was from you know, a non lab situation. And I’ve had others. For example, I think one of the Intelligence Committee said that they think that there is probability that it was I’m not sure we’re ever going to quite

figure that out. I don’t think Falci was directly dealing with Chinese and an effort to do gain a function. But frankly, some people disagree with me on that.

Speaker 1 Understood. It comes about the I mean we were on the verge of a world war. I the expression there used to use, how many countries have to be involved before you call it a world war? And so many problems that President Biden allowed to happen. Do you want to give our listeners a little bit of how you

feel about it?

Speaker 2 Yeah, Well, my gosh, we’re not in total war. I think of a world war as when you’re in total war. And when I say total war, I mean all the resources of a society are directed towards winning that war.

From the United States perspective, right now, we are supporting Israel big time. We’re supporting the Ukrainians. We’re helping Taiwan equip itself in case the Chinese, in case the Chinese invade. But frankly, we’re living a life otherwise. John, It’s not like people are on ration cards. Are that they’re being told as they were in World War two, to recycle

toothpaste containers to make sure all the aluminum we had was going in the right place. So we’re not in total war, and that’s what I think of as World War. On the other hand, we should continue to support israel I favor supporting Ukraine because I think the Russians are not going to stop the Ukraine. They’re going to go

after Poland that triggers are NATO treaty and if you trigger the NATO treaty, then you have American troops involved. I don’t want my children, your children, grandchildren, anyone’s to be involved in a war overseas. And if others are willing to do the fighting and the support them.

Speaker 1 Understood, We got a minute or so left Sunday morning. What else would you like to tell the American people?

Speaker 2 Well, you know one thing I’m really interested in as the incoming chairman. Percent of the people listening to us right now read differently. They have dyslexia, and so John, believe me, it’s not what you always talk about, but if you look at our reading scores, they just not improved over time as a nation. And I have to think, well,

maybe that’s because we’re not treating that twenty percent better. And so before you’re twenty percent out there who are dyslexic or have children or family members who are dyslexic. They can be really tragic. The child who’s asked to stand up in school and read and can’t read, and they’re ridiculed and their self esteem is destroyed. But if

you screen them, you give them the appropriate intervention, then they will develop into everything that you want them to develop into. Some famous people have been dyslexic, David Boiz, a famous lawyer, as one example, supposedly Albert Einstein, some others.

So I say all that because I think that the Trump administration emphasizing the power of the parent to choose the better school for their child, will give an opportunity for the children with dyslexi or other differences in how they learn, define the opportunity just for them. That’s when the things I’m most excited about this next four years.

Speaker 1 Well, Senator Bill Cassidy, thank you for coming on this Sunday morning, and God bless you, and God bless America. And may we pray for you know, a successful in America and a free world being free again.

Speaker 2 Amen. Amen, Amen, thanks for having me.
