Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning of the new year. Well, that with us today is the person who kept most of our listeners alive. We have doctor Peter Milos to give us tips on what to do to live longer in a new year. Doctor, what say.
You well, John, Good morning and happy new Year to all our listeners. And we need to have a plan for the new year, and we all make resolutions, but it turns out many people break their health resolutions usually by mid February. But starting the new year and making an annual event to start off with a good annual physical.
It’s so important to have a dashboard. Like when you’re driving down the road with your car, you know what your oil pressure is, you know what your fluid levels are, your temperature. But the same thing with humans is our lab work. That’s the only thing we know what’s going on.
So starting off with a good annual physical and knowing some of the important blood tests to do and our lipid profile is extremely important to screen for potential cholesterol problems. One of the markers that’s very important is called april lipoprotein B, which is what is turning out to be one of the best predictors for future heart attacks and
strokes and then making the proper dietariat lifestyle changes and discussing it with your physician and getting the appropriate intervention and supplements to get that under control. Another important thing is our CBC in chemistry, to tell us how our kidneys are functioning, our sodium, our potassium, how our kidneys are filtering is very important. We need to know how
the thermostack control of our body is. Our thyroid function is extremely important. We want to know the health of our liver, which is a master detoxing processing center, and that’s called the liver profile, liver enzymes, and even checking for things that sometimes people don’t even know they have, like a hepatitis screening for men and women. It’s important
to check our hormone levels, and most annual physicals don’t often check that. Sometimes you have to go to an integrative medicine specialist for that. And the other very important things that a lot of people don’t talk about and you and I have both experienced are the heavy metal screening, the lead, arsenic, mercury, aluminum, things like that which we get.
And the other very important annual thing that we should do as we get older is having an annual EKG because an EKG can pick up something called ischemia, which is a lack of blood flow to certain parts of the heart, and that helps us to screen what’s going on.
And for the future, we’re going to be hearing more and more something that regular office visits don’t do, but integrative medicine specialist too, is a gut Zumer test to find out what’s going on in our gut microbiome. And when we balance out our gut now that we know it’s eighty percent of our immunity, that also helps to
clean up a lot of other problems and other diseases that we may have. And these are some of the basics. And other things we’ve talked about are their blood tests like the gallery test for annual cancer screening where you can pick up cancers before they start. For women, the pap smear test. Doctor Popper Nicolao invented the screen for
cervical cancer, and for men, the PSA blood test is very important in a digital rectal exam to really know what’s going on because if you catch a lot of these things early. We now know that early diagnosis leads to better outcomes, better five and ten years of vival rates and in many cases even chures. So those are
some of the basic things to start and seriously consider starting the Mediterranean diet because it’s now well proven throughout the world that that diet that consists of fruits, fish, vegetable, lots of olive oil and avocado, things that contain laic acid, and moderate exercise, doing a certain number of steps walking you know, at least you know, twenty minutes, three or
four times a week. Just keep moving and all that helps cumulatively to longevity, and of course avoiding stress whenever you can, because now the interesting study was that when we’re stressed, though, just like in the ancient times or when we were caveman, when we were stressed, our blood clots fast because we think we’re going to have trauma,
we anticipate being bit by an animal. But when you’re stressed out, sometimes and alone early in the morning, that same stress stimulates the same clotting factors. And that’s why they think people get more heart attacks and strokes when they’re stressed out, because it turns our clotting system into overdrive.
So staying super hydrated very important, especially as we get older, because we tend not to want to run to the bathroom all the time, and when we drink more fluids, our blood runs thin like skim milk instead of thick like half and half, so it’s less sludging happening. So see that these are some of the things that you
can do. But also we now know that dental cleanings at least twice a year are extremely important because they’ve shown that the same bacteria in the plaque and in our teeth has been found in heart black and heart vessels that are plugged up. So very important to have a clean, clean teeth, clean mouth, and that also translates
into better cardiac help. And we’re learning more and more about these things and preparing for the new year because we’re seeing some signs of potential issues, like now we’re seeing this rise in neurovirus and intestinal virus twice as much more than last year. We don’t really know why.
We’re seeing this unusual transmission of bird flu which has jumped from the wild beasts and ducks into the chicken and poultry system, and it’s been found in cats and now they’re testing it around the country and they’ve found it in several states in the cow’s milt. That’s why not eating raw milk is not a good ideal right now.
Pasteurization is basically flash sterilization of the milk that kill potential viruses. And the other thing, of course is you know COVID is still around, but fortunately it’s under control if you test and treat early. And also the bird flu there are anti virals available if it starts happening to human to human transmission. So far it’s only farm
workers who touch these animals, but they’ve had to kill millions of chickens, which obviously drives the food prices up. So that’s being monitored very carefully by the TDC. But you know, eat healthy and have your annual physical, your EKG, your blood tests, your peraps mirror, your press mammogrant if you’re a woman, and your colonoscopy.
And one other question. So many people have been dying heart attacks that’s attributed to the COVID vaccine. Is there anything the average person can do to well try to avoid that heart attack.
Well, the issue is whether it’s the COVID vaccine or having COVID itself. And the study that was done in Ireland by the Royal College of Surgeon shows that the spike protein, which is on the virus. When your immune system sees it and attacks it, it makes something called antibodies in our body which try to neutralize that COVID spike. So,
whether it’s from the vaccine spike proteins that are made or from COVID itself, it seems to turn on the clotting system. So COVID, the spike protein from covid, or whether it’s the spike from vaccines that are generating these spike proteins, there seems to be something that’s happening that is promoting clotting, and that has to be figured out.
And that’s why a lot of doctors when people get now they give them a blood thinner when they get COVID, and some people who are concerned about that are taking for example, baby aspirin. Of course, ask your doctor under the supervision of the doctor.
Chris, we were in a position of everybody was taking one baby aspir day. Then they told us don’t do it, and now they may tell us to do it again.
Well, they were telling us about because they were worried about gi bleeds. But if you take a coded baby espirin and discuss it with your doctor, even if you take it every other day. When you take one aspirin, the blood thinning effects now the platelet’s last for ninety days.
The reason why they tell you before surgery to stop your esperin a week before between a dental cleaning so you don’t bleed as much, is so you can make some fresh platelets. So some of these medicines you can discuss with your doctor. You don’t necessarily have to be on it every day, and you’d have to take some
of these things with food. And if you’re going to take aspirin, it’s better to buy the coated and eric so it’s slow release. Yeah, you can just take a regular aspirin. It sits in one place and you’re more likely to cause a bleeding ulcer.
Is that echo trend one of those coded aspens.
Yeah, Yeah, there are several of them. And slow release medicines turn out to be better, just like with data blockers, the slow release is better with Matt Foreman, the slow release, slow release is always superior to the sudden release medicines.
If you have a choice, always discussed that with your doctor and keep listening to WABC for more healthy tips to have a happy and healthy New Year for twenty twenty five and continue to think positive and test negative.
Doctor Peter me Hellos, thank you so much. God bless you and God bless the lives you say by giving important information and our listeners. All you have to do is listen and take prequestions, and may all of you live to the new year.
Thank you John always getting the truth out on the CATS round Table. And I’ll always discuss your physician about your personal health plan for the new year.
