Speaker 1 Sunday morning. Well, let’s go to Pennsylvania. What is today is Senator David McCormick a common sense Republican and Pennsylvania is one great state and you even get along with with with Santa Fetterman. Tell us, Senator, give us an update what’s going on in Pennsylvania?

Speaker 2 Well, thanks, John, you listen Pennsylvania right now. I couldn’t be more optimistic about Pennsylvania’s future, and it comes to the moment we’re in. I mean, we got all this radical change with artificial intelligence and the energy boom, and you know, the bringing back advanced manufacturing that’s happened under President Trump, and Pennsylvania’s uniquely positioned, as you know, John,

to take advantage of this. We’ve got incredible energy resources number two energy producer in America, skilled labor, great universities, lots of water, proximity to the majority of Americans. We’re within five hundred miles of fifty five percent of the population, and so we’re uniquely position to take advantage of this with energy and AI and the’s huge investment coming into Pennsylvania.

Just two weeks ago, along these lines, I hosted a Defense and Innovation summit in Pennsylvania at the Army War College. The President came, the cabinet came, Hegsteth came, Chairman Caine came. John Ratcliffe, the CIA director came. We had the CEOs of every major defense company, the biggest investors in the world.

Jamie Diamond was there, John Gray from Blackstone, all focused on Pennsylvania. Thirteen hundred people came, six hundred companies, John, most of them Pennsylvania companies, all focused on essentially reindustrializing our defense industry. So this included the CEO of Hanwa.

We’re going to go from one ship a year to twenty ships a year in the Philadelphia Shipyard. It included the big investments were making and next generation combat people satellites from Lockeed and so the big picture here, John is we need to radically reform our defense industry. We need to bring in new players, these new technology providers

drones and so forth, and we need to rebuild our industrial base. And Pennsylvania needs to be the point of the spear for America. We got one hundred and ninety thousand people today in Pennsylvania that work in the defense industry.

And my hope is in five years from now, we’ll have twice that, and so it was very exciting. And this is how I’m trying to lead in Pennsylvania. You know, I’m a business guy. I’m a former CEO. We want to bring investment here. And by the way, the thing I want to end on is that that at that

summit was the president. Of course, it was also the governor, Governor Shapiro, a Democrat. There was also Senator Fetterman, my good friend, a fellow senator. Winning is a team sport. You need to have labor there, you need to have the universities. And so we had a great success and as I said, Senator Fetterman has been a big part

of that.

Speaker 1 Well, you know, I am glad. You know Pennsylvania you have common sense Democrats and common sense Republicans working well together. I mean, that’s the way the old days was. I don’t know what’s causing this comeback between in other states, in Illinois or New York. What’s causing the comeback between Democrats and Republicans.

Speaker 2 Well, I think, I really do think part of this is that the Democratic Marty Party has taken this huge swing to the to the radical left where it’s really embraced policies that are anti military, anti law enforcement, anti Semitism, anti Americanism, and you see that in some of these candidates that are coming to the forefront. Michigan is a

good example where else Sai just won the primary there. This is a state like Pennsylvania, it’s a purple state, and yet you’ve got this radical Democrat and that’s creating all sorts of division in the Democratic Party. And ironically, John, the thing that’s scary is that you have a lot of mainstream Democrats that are embracing these radical lefty policies.

That’s not the case in Pennsylvania, particularly with John Fetterman, and I really respect them. He votes as a Democrat, you know, ninety three or ninety five percent of the time, So it’s not like he’s not a Democrat in most of his policy positions. But he’s willing to stand up and call out the crazy that’s happening in his party.

It’s made him unpopular with some of the people in his party. It’s made him very popular with a lot of Pennsylvanians. And so I’m lucky to have a good partner in Pennsylvania. And when I’m walking through the airport, you know the thing people come up to me and say, it’s not about this summit or that thing I voted on,

It’s about that relationship with John Fetterman, and I think people really appreciate it.

Speaker 1 Well, thank you, senator, Thank you so much for coming on. Thank you for your common sense. I am glad common sense Democrats and Josh Shapiro he’s always had a common sense, and Fetterman has common sense. And Eddie Rendell one of my best friends from the old days. Common sense, common sense Democrats, common sense Republicans should work always work together.

Thank you for coming on this Sunday morning.
