Automated transcript · uncorrectedWith us this morning is Senator Joe Lieberman, one of the most common sense senators forever. And he was a Democrat, he was an independent. Now he’s also chairman of the uh NO Labels people and Senator. Happy Honikah and happy holidays, and good to have you with us this Sunday morning.
Thanks John, Good morning to you. Happy Honikah, which started, as you know Thursday night, the Merry Christmas to you and all your listeners. It’s always great to be on with you. Thank you, thank you.
Uh And where where do we start? Our country or our world seems to be more divided than ever ever before. Uh? And where shall we start this Sunday morning.
Well, I mean the first place I’ll start is to say, unfortunately, I agree with you. We seem more divided and more challenged. Look in our lifetime, as we’ve been through some very difficult periods. It’s just the way of history. I mean, I was born during the Second World War, but I don’t remember it because it was just a baby and
a toddler. But you know, we went through the Vietnam War, through the whole civil rights of people, and through the Cold War. But John, this seems like just multiple challenges in the world. That war with the Islamic extremists which started on nine to eleven, it’s not over, as we see from the brutal Hamas attack on Israel and the
war going on there. And yet now we’re facing these big power challenges from Russia and China and the extreme this challenge from really a terrorist state Iran. And the challenge for us and the real crisis is that America is more divided and it’s certainly ever been in my lifetime, and that makes it more difficult for us to both
deal with our internal problems and to face the threats to our freedom, security, prosperity from around the world. So I mean, look, we need we need strong leadership. We haven’t had it as much as we needed, and we need to pull back together as the people just to be strong and protect ourselves.
I agree, Senator, And what I’ve said on the air before is right now, I’m not sure we’re pursuing the right people. I have said that the four people in charge of Iran, what do we call them? They are they the Osama bin Laden’s of twenty twenty three. They’re the ones paying the Hamas people to go and intact
and the victims are all the Israellies, the victims are all the Persians, which I call the civilized Iranians, and the victims are the Palestinians that live in Gaza. Well, because these ten thousand Hamas people were paid off by the Mullas and they paid them one hundred million dollars, I understand.
Yeah, no, John, you couldn’t have said it better. And it’s something I think a lot of people miss. Incidentally, add to the victims, the approximately thirty five hundred American soldiers that are stationed in Iraq and Syria that are regularly, you know, almost coming toward a one hundred times in recent months, have been fired on by mostly by the
Chia extremist militias in Syrian Iraq that are also sponsored and trained and paid for and armed by Iran. So here’s the important point you just made. I think we’ve got to see what’s happening in the Middle East as a war that’s been declared against us in our allies, Israel and the Arab countries by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
So and look at the the terrorist groups there, Hamas Asballah, the Huti’s, the militias really as divisions in the Iranian terrorist army. That’s that’s trying to really destroy us and our allies in the Middle East and of course our values.
And I think until we see it that way and strike really at Iran with force, because that’s all they understand. They certainly haven’t understood what we’ve been doing in recent years towards that they’ve taken advantage of us. This is going to go on and get worse, and eventually it’s already happened in some ways, our homeland will be threatened
by tourist agents of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we don’t want to go back to nine to eleven again.
The way I see it is that all the normal people, the Israelis, the eight million Israeli Is, the two million Palestinians, the Persians are all being disrupted because of these mulas and these the Hamaskaru. And it’s just not fair to it’s not the it’s not fair to the rest of civilization.
Yeah, you are right, and listen, I want to pick out something you just said. Of course, the Israelis are targets of Iran, and so notwithstanding the occasional hug between them are the Saudis and the Amoradis and the rest.
But the Palestinian people are also victims of the uh theocracy and terrorism of Iran and its proxies, particularly Hamas and his Bolla. Why do I say the Palestinian people are because they’re they’re they’re they’re victimized. These terrorist groups are all about ideology and theology and and defeating US at our allies in the Middle East and and for
instance in Gaza. Uh Hamas hasn’t done anything to protect the Palestinian people from what they knew would have to be the Israeli counterattack after the barbaric terrorist attack against Israelis on October seventh. So, John, you you make a really important point, which is that the victims of the Mullahs in Iran are not the obvious ones Israel and
US and the Arab It’s everybody in the Arabs, It’s everybody, and it includes the Palestinians who have who have really suffered too much, and my heart goes out to them.
Really now, we talked to theocracy, and this is why it happened. I understand from my intelligence sources that when Saudi Arabia and Israel was going to make peace. It goes back to the Shites and as Sunnis. The Mullahs being Shehites, I believe right, and panicked and they pressed a button because the Gaza and Israel were at peace
for many years, weren’t.
They they were. I’m afraid some of the Israelis looked back in the government I mean, and think that maybe Hamas fooled them by seeming to be more peaceful while they were planning this attack. It’s possible, but again, this is all being controlled from Tehran. Whether the fighting is happening in Gaza or coming from Lebanon or Iraq, Siri, Yemen,
the control of it is with the terrorist commanders in Tehran. And I repeat on we and our allies have to use our military force to begin to strike it vulnerable targets in Iran from the error or they’re not going to get it. We’ve hit some OH installations, ammunition depots at training facilities in Syria in response to the texts
and the tacks and American soldiers in Iraq and Syria. It’s only many of our soldiers have been injured, some seriously by those attacks, and the Iranians and their stooges just continue it. So obviously they’re not getting the message.
And to me, that means they’re inviting us to hit them in their homeland, that the places where they build the missiles and the drones and the bombs that they fired at our troops, and.
Normally, normally the Israelis would do that if they had confidence, if Washington would back them up.
I think they’re right, And what can I say. I look at the apparently the attitude in the Biden administration about why they won’t strike targets in Iran in response to the constant strikes against US and our allies in the Middle East is they don’t want to make this a wider war. But it is a wider war. It
is the wider war has been declared by our enemies centered in Tehran. So we got to recognize that and fight it, to defeat them before they really before they start killing some American soldiers, which I believe, unfortunately they will if we don’t push them back on this. And of course we’ve got to start stop talking to them
about this Ron nuclear agreement because they don’t abide by it.
They took us, and I just want to get one more point of quest because you only had a few moments. In case you don’t know, Senator, under President Trump, we had them down the Iranians to four hundred thousand battles a day at fifty five dollars a battle, which is chump change, which day was just barely surviving. On the
Biden administration is taking it up to three and a half million dollars a day at it was up to one hundred dollars a barrow, and they were making two billion dollars a week a week of profits. And that was and they used that two billion dollars a week not to help the Persian people, but to help right humas,
et cetera. And that’s what funded.
Yeah, yeah, you are so right. Those are really striking facts, and of course they’re outrageous. They’re just the Uranians are making us running circles around our sanctions. And incidentally, one of the big purchasers of that oil occurs is China.
And as we now try to improve our relations with China, I think one of the first things you’ve got to ask them is stop buying from Iran. We went a lot of we could sell them if they want to buy it from us, but I agree we’ve got to get a tougher got to I think I think Trump
administration called it a campaign of maximum economic pressure against their ran and we got to go back to that because that they’ll understand, because you know what around is a theocracy and a terrorist state, but it’s also a business and the move is that we’ve talked about, John, they have not taken a vow of poverty. Trust me.
Twenty twenty three, Osama bin Laden’s.
They are. I haven’t heard anybody else say that, but I say it’s not only brilliant, it’s truthful. So thank you for reminding us of where we are with the movie. Oh Sama bin Laden of twenty twenty three.
Absolutely right, Senaca. We’re at a time and we have so many more things to talk about. I hope we can get together next maybe next Sunday or in between to fill in the American people what’s going on with no labels and some other things.
I would like to do that, Johnnah, we definitely will just have a wonderful day and holiday. Thank you.
Let’s enjoy the holidays and and and pray during the holidays for all the American people in all the world.
Amen. I join in those prayers, Amen, I don’t care for
