Speaker 1 With us. Today’s Gudon Chang, and he’s going to give us his evaluation what the heck is going on in the Far East China, And there’s so many things going on in the world. Gordon Chang tell us what the heck is going on.

Speaker 2 The most significant thing that we have seen recently is that Reuter’s report that said that the Biden State Department actually started to not impose sanctions, export controls, and other measures that they were planning to take place because they didn’t want to raise the tensions after the Chinese Biblelon incident.

In other words, what China did was to grossly violate our sovereignty and also get the State Department to not impose costs on China, which is exactly the opposite of the way our diplomacy should work.

Speaker 1 Who do you think, what do you think is the right thing? What’s going on? I mean, that’s what the White House is thinking.

Speaker 2 Well, the right thing to do would be to impose those costs for China violating our sovereignty because we don’t want Beijing to do that again. But unfortunately, what the Lincoln State Department did was actually to encourage China to engage in even more provocative behavior, because what it did was it emboldened and legitimized the worst elements in Beijing

by showing everybody else that aggression works. So what we’re doing is opening the door for more provocative actions on the part of the Chinese.

Speaker 1 Well, yeah, yeah, you’re right there. I mean, so where are we going? You know what I’ve been telling people, We are in the middle of a world war, but a world war that’s economic and cultural. Hopefully we’ll never be in a world war that’s actually shooting things. Where do we go? What’s the next step?

Speaker 2 The next step on the part of the Biden administration, at least as they see it, is try to establish dialogue and channels of communication. So, for instance, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan was in Vienna for ten hours of meetings with China. This was just disclosed yesterday, And I think they’re trying to get a phone call between President

Biden and Si Jen Ping. But right now, at this point, I think that what we need to do is to start imposing those costs and not appear desperate to communicate, because China looks at communication and as granting it as a favor to the United States. That’s not the way we should look at it. Communication benefits both sides, but

we should not give China the notion that we will make concessions just for trying to deigne to talk to us.

Speaker 1 Yeah, I mean, we don’t want to beg anybody. I mean, it seems like China is using Russia to distract their own empire, you know, using Russia’s resources on oil and tying it into well, let’s put it just wry Russia’s oil and Saudi Arabia’s oil and using it to make good deals for Pakistan, India and some other countries around

the world, and putting putting an alliance together. Who is who would you consider at this point as a member of the Chinese Alliance?

Speaker 2 Yeah, the new axis would be China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Algeria, the Wagner Group in Sudan. What we are seeing is China try to stitch together this coalition. And you get to remember that this echoes what the President Trump tried to do in the first of his administration, which was to make sure the US pumped oil and gas and

that lower the cost for Americans and as well as to use and gas sales to others has leveraged to accomplish American foreign policy games. So the Chinese are doing what President Trump tried to do and what Biden actually has projected to it.

Speaker 1 So, how many nations do you think are more I hate to say it this way, more loyal to China, are concerned about their relationships with China more so than their relationships with Washington.

Speaker 2 Well, you know, I think that probably there are a lot of countries right now that are embarrassed by their relations with Russia and they are intimidated by China. So they want to maintain good relations with Beijing because they don’t want the Chinese to impose costs on them. That’s a growing block. And indeed, I think there are a

lot of countries that are much more concerned about their relations with the Chinese than they are with us, because we don’t impose those costs to try to get what we want. And that means that countries take us for granted understood.

Speaker 1 What else would you like to tell you American people’s Sunday morning, It’s Mother’s Day people. You know, they’re sitting around waiting to have either lunch or dinner with their moms, and they’re wondering which way is our country going.

Speaker 2 Well, Happy Mother’s Day everybody. We are now at a critical point because China is making best advances and we have not seen such a rapid collapse in America standing in our lifetimes. And that’s largely because the Biden administration is pursuing policies that injure the United States and in many cases aligned with Chinese foreign policy goals. So of

course Beijing is making a lot of progress, and this means that our country is in jeopardy.
