Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning, Labor Day weekend with us today is Robert, you know, notaway, CEO of Goya Foods, a worldwide company, and Bob is one good friend and one smart guy. Robert is things are things improving at all? In Uh?
What’s happening with the delivery of food, with the moving of the product? I know we’ve had conversations like that. Where do you see things going? I noticed Suez Canal is still closed? Uh you tell.
Us, well, John, thanks for having me happy Labor Day. Yes, you know when when COVID hit, Before COVID hit who When COVID hit, supply chain went, you know, out of control, and freight coming in from other countries went tenfold. You know, you couldn’t get containers, you couldn’t get There were hundreds of ships off the ports because people. We couldn’t unload
the ships. And for example, a load of coconut water from Thailand went from eighteen hundred to eighteen thousand, ten times. It’s gone back down to about double that because they’ll never go back to where it was. But let’s say two times thirty six hundred. But now the freight’s inching up again, not inching up it’s like fivefold. Now it’s
over ten thousand for that container. Because the Seuez Canal, the Straits of Eight and under attacked by the Hoodiels, Rebels, the Panama Canal have problems with fresh water and they have their issues, and so you know, ships have to take a longer track. And of course, when you know the this administration took over, the Harris Biden administration, they
immediately started a war on fossil fuel with the Keystone Pipeline. You can’t we’re now gas out of Texas, the Green New Deal, which was you know, just crazy, very expensively. Our weakness around the world, John with our withdrawal from Afghanistan, it embolded Putin to go into Ukraine, and that between Ukraine and Russia they had fifty percent of the world’s fertilizer.
That tripled the cost of fertilizers. They are thirty percent of the world’s we twenty percent of the world’s corn, sunflowers, sand for fracking, et cetera. It drove prices. You know, Ukraine was a bread basket for parts of Europe and Africa and in South America quite frankly, and those policies just made an immediate impact on inflation. And now they’re
saying that, you know, and you have grocery stores, which earned like most distributors also in one and two percent, that we’re price gouging when the prices have gone up if they are so. And also, you know, it’s funny because the government also said, hey, you know minimum WAG should be fifteen dollars an hour. Well, guess what, it’s
twenty dollars an hour. You can’t get anyone to work in a warehouse for less than eighteen twenty dollars an hour. So a free market.
So, Bob, it’s the supply chain is not getting any better? Is that the bottom line.
The supply chain is under attack every day. And of course we have, you know, products in the United States. Most of Goya’s products, for example, are grown in the US. But even moving things around freight, the cost of labor.
People don’t want to work. It’s not safe. You know. I was just in El Salvador with the President Bukell, who has imprisoned about fifteen thousand MS thirteen and it’s safe here now. But of course you know, the horses we’re already out of the barn, and and those gang members and also gang members from Venezuela and other countries
are in our country, you know, ravaging through uh, suburban neighborhoods, scaring you know, scaring us people. It’s funny speaking with the President and saying that some people don’t want to move to the United States because of the fear of safety and also what we’re teaching our kids, kids in school.
People venus went, I’m sorry, the Salvadorians in the US are wanting to come back to Al Salvador because of safety. Of course, El Salvador is not an economic uh you know, paradise, but it’s in the US is. But we’re going to lose this country if we continue these policies, uh, you know, anticipated capital gain, controlling prices. You want to control prices,
you want to control costs. How about the United States instead of being the complicit middleman in child trafficking, human trafficking, and drugs, why don’t they put a lid on that and control our borders. That that is what the cost is, not the one percent that grocery store has to make at the end of the day for food. This has
gone out of site.
Well, bob our problem in the grocery chain and we own Innocity supermarkets in the inner cities, which is different than national supermarkets. The inner cities are suffering. You know, if our bottom line was traditionally one and a half two percent, of the extra shrinkage that’s going on and the extra security that we have to put on is
six percent. So we’re losing money.
Right and you know, you have to cover your costs or go out of business. You know, the average you know, fifty nine percent of illegal immigrants have better benefits than the US. I’m seventy years old. I may retire one day, I’m not sure. But my Social Security check, the average Social Security check is twelve hundred dollars. The benefit that
illegal immigrant gets is over thirty eight hundred dollars. And now in California they want to pass a bill to loan illegal immigrants one hundred and fifty thousand dollars for new homes. You know, this policy is we’re going to run.
It’s better. At the end of the day, it might be better for all of us instead of taking the risk of running a business, to stay home and let the government take care of us. We have no risk and we can make at least earn something. But that doesn’t work because sooner or later in the communism, you
run out of other people’s money to spend. We have to work more than half a day, you and I for someone else, and many of Americans for someone else not to work or not to pay taxes.
Bobby and anyway I want to cover. You also have a new book coming out. It’s called Blessed Donald J. Trump and the Spiritual War. Tell us about that. When is the book coming out?
Well, John, thanks for that. In September twenty fourth, officialies coming out. It’s a pre sale on Amazon. But this goes back and I didn’t really I’m not a writer. I’m not a good reader. Actually, I didn’t want to write this book, but the Holy Spirit compelled me to do so. Because when I was at the White House
on July ninth of twenty twenty four years ago, I was there to offer food to the country which was running out of food, and we eventually donated five million pounds. I said the word blessed came on my lips from the Holy Spirit, and I used I said, we were blessed with President Trump. I’ve said before with Barack Obama,
but I said we were blessed with President Trump, and it created a fearor canceled culture, hatred, you know, threats against me for saying blessed. And this book is about a spiritual war, you know, love and build versus hate and destroy. I think God has his hand on Donald Trump.
I think he has his hand on this nation. And you fast forward to July thirteenth, when President Trump turned his head just at the right moment at six’ eleven in the afternoon Where Saint paul to The ephesian, says put on the armor Of god in your fight against.
Evil and you, KNOW i think there’s too much, egotism there’s too much, hatred. Destruction and you know with this this bridge in Uh in in Uh, In, baltimore Near, baltimore and uh this The Francis Scott’s Key Key. Bridge i’m, Sorry Francis Scott Key bridge took four years to. Build it was destroyed in a. Moment and that’s kind of
what was. Happening this country was being built and this administration has destroyed. It AND i think we need to turn To. God we need to love and. Build we need to stop focusing so much on ourselves and our neighbor mental. Health what we’re teaching our. Kids so this is a spiritual war where we need to move closer To.
God and this kind of, uh this outlines the real experiences of WHICH i. Feel you, know We’re President trump is, called we’re all called to love our, neighbors to love and, build bring this nation back to. Greatness, uh we’re gonna it’s leading toward, communism which goes Against, god and it’s destructive for our nation and for our. Future SO i
had no reason to or to write the, book BUT i think it’s timely because you, know this is a very existential election AND i think we need to in this war move. CLOSER i.
Understood and the book is going to Hit amazon And bonds And noble On september twenty, Fourth so everybody out, there you got and get, it And god bless, you And god Bless. AMERICA i look forward to seeing you real.
Soon god bless. You, john love you the. Best
