Automated transcript · uncorrected23 days to the election, November 3rd. There’s so many races. Well, with us today is Michael LaPetrie, and he is running for Congress in the 3rd Congressional District in New York City. And, well, it’s actually Nassau County, I guess. Well, how is the state of the race going? I mean, you’re running against Mr. Swazi, who is usually a pretty tough competitor.
Thanks, John, so much. We’re excited because we have Tom Swazi on his heels, somebody that says one thing and votes completely the opposite way. We’ve been exposing his record here over in Nassau County and Northeast Queens. Two years ago, we came within just three percentage points of victory. Now we have the full buy-in, the White House and House leadership,
and we have been guns blazing. Just recently, we launched a big commercial ad showing Tom Suozzi calling for mass amnesty and calling for importation of voters to have them all become legal, to have them all gain their citizenship so that they can then vote in elections. all here illegally.
Now he wants to make them citizens. We’re showing the people he’s been funding sanctuary cities. He’s been helping illegal aliens rather than the hardworking middle-class Americans. That’s why Tom Suozzi voted no to lifting the SALT tax cap. Tom Suozzi voted no to the largest tax cut in history.
And Tom Suozzi votes no when it comes time to helping the voters of the 3rd Congressional District.
Understood. So what’s the big issue that you feel that people in Nassau County, I mean, we all saw Bruce Blakeman, well, I guess, debating with Governor Hochul, and he says that Nassau County is the safest county in the country. What do you say? Absolutely.
Under the stewardship of Bruce Blakeman’s county executive, Nassau County is the safest county in America. And what’s sad is you have people like my opponent, Tom Suave, who’s all in with Kathy Hochul and the Democrat agenda of open borders and letting the criminals loose. For example, in New York State, there’s 14,000 ICE detainer requests. of all these
felons that they want to deport. And people like Tom Suoz and Kathy Hochul have answered with zero, with providing none of these criminals back to ICE to become deported, instead releasing them into our communities, which is absolutely wrong.
As an assemblyman, I was the number one supporter of law enforcement. I know what it takes to keep our community safe. That’s why law enforcement has endorsed me. They know that they’re fully in with me, and I’m all in with them. During the defund the police movement, Tom Suozzi voted against condemning the defund the police movement and
actually voted to repeal qualified immunity, which would have held all these law enforcement officers personally liable for conduct occurring in the line of duty. It’s wrong. It’s abhorrent. And we need to root out these liars in Congress who say one thing and do another. We don’t need any more dishonesty. We need real, authentic leadership. And that’s why
people are going to vote Mike Lopetri for United States Congress.
Mike Lopetri, thank you for coming on this Sunday morning. Good luck, and we’ll talk to you again real soon.
Thanks so much.
