You’ve been elected for a two year term just about to fight the prejudice in America. Tell us what tell us a little bit about a HAPPA and what they have done in the past and what your vision is to do in the future.

Speaker 2 Well, I have John was founded in nineteen twenty two, on July twenty six in Atlanta, Georgia, to find the discrimination and the prejudice against the Greek American community. The purpose and the goal to assimilate the Newmans, the new immigrants into the American society. And I must say that a hundred years later, AHABA has been able to do

that and we are very proud that the Hellenic American community is fully assimilated, with many notable examples. But the fight goes on because discrimination still exists in many in many different levels, and AHBA is fighting the same battle to make sure that everybody has the same chance and the same opportunity, especially the Greek Americans.

Speaker 1 Now tells you you’re elected, what is your vision of there’s so many problems in America lately. What is your vision going forward and what is your mission?

Speaker 2 Well, it is a critical time, as you said, in American society right now is polarized, is divided, and a haba has to rise above that keep our members pobushed and tried to push unity for the purpose of our membership, but also for the good of the greater society. If we stay divided, I’m afraid that we’re not going to

be the leader of the world, and everybody would be looking at us as a second or third world country. Therefore, the responsibility on the shoulders of all of us. It’s great, especially on our membership who have come a long way, who have fought discrimination and bias, and now it’s our time to shine.
