Speaker 1 Labor Day weekend. Well, let’s go to Kentucky. And with us this morning is Andrew Barr. And do I call you Andy? Andy, please. Andy Barr. And he is the Republican congressman from Kentucky. But he is the nominee and he’s running. He’s got the GOP nomination to run for Mitch McConnell’s seat. And, well, and you got President Trump’s endorsement, I understand.

Speaker 2 Yes, sir. Honored to be the nominee and earn that endorsement and earn the endorsement of the Republican Party of Kentucky. And now we’re running in a general election where we’re looking to earn the support of all Kentuckians who believe in common sense, who love our country and want to stop socialism. Because what we’re seeing, John, as you see

it in New York, we’ve got Mamdani in New York, we’ve got El-Sayed in Michigan. And Charles Booker, my opponent in Kentucky, he’s a full-blown socialist. And so this election, this fall around the country, but certainly also in Kentucky, is a contest between crazy versus common sense. And I’m standing for common sense, free enterprise, and we need to

stop socialism from ever coming to Kentucky or this country.

Speaker 1 Well, I agree with you 110% because you need common sense everywhere. And I understand your opponent doesn’t have much common sense.

Speaker 2 No, you know, my opponent, sadly, he’s for abolishing ICE and opening the border. He’s for defunding the police. He’s for the Green New Deal. He calls my support for Israel funding genocide. So we see this climate alarmism, anti-Semitism and socialism happening. sweeping the country. He brags that he takes it as a badge of honor that I refer

to him as the Mamdani of Kentucky. He sadly wants to impeach the president. That’s what he says his number one goal is, is to impeach President Trump. So look, our appeal to the people of Kentucky is let’s have some common sense in this country. Let’s Let’s keep biological men out of the private spaces of our daughters. Let’s

continue to celebrate our holidays and not allow these socialists to ban holidays like the Fourth of July and Thanksgiving. And that’s what these socialists want to do. They want to transform our country, remake our country into something we do not recognize. I have a seven-term record in the Congress of fighting for free enterprise and fiscal responsibility, limited government,

the American dream. I believe in secure borders and standing up for law enforcement. I believe in American energy dominance. I do not believe in this crazy Green New Deal. And, you know, if we’re going to lower the cost of living in America, the answer is less government, not more government.

We need to get government out of the way so we can supply more of everything, supply more labor, supply more energy, supply more capital, liberate our capital markets and our free enterprise system, and reduce regulations. That’s the way to lower the cost of living in everything, in groceries, in energy prices, the electric bill. certainly when it comes

to the cost of capital.

Speaker 1 Congressman Barr, thank you for coming on this Labor Day weekend, and I look forward to having a longer discussion with you in the near future. And good luck, and have a great Labor Day weekend.

Speaker 2 Happy Labor Day to you as well, John. Thanks so much. Thank you.
