Speaker 1 Well, Sunday morning. What does he give us an update? Is Bonnie Brady, the executive director of the Long Island Commercial Fishing Association out in Montauk And what are we worried about? We’re worried about, Well, the windmills. The windmills are going to destroy all of Long Island’s fisheries. The windmills are going to kill our whales. And the windmills

when they’re finished, well, people in Long Island will start paying four hundred percent more for their electricity. Bonnie, give us an update. What the heck is going on?

Speaker 2 Hi, John, thank you so much for having me. Well, I’ve got some I guess you would call it late breaking news, but it’s coming up this Tuesday. We are planning on having a rally with members to protect our coast New Jersey and the Fulton Fish Market Cooperative in Hunts Point along with yours truly, and we’re going to

be doing a rally about talking about stopping Empire wind. I know they’re planning on doing some videos with some of the union guys that work there, hopefully talking directly to President Trump in the video to explain why their jobs matter and why it’s so important to stop this project.

So I’m very excited about that.

Speaker 1 That that is wonderful. And what else, how is the your lawsuits going?

Speaker 2 The lawsuit, well, we served everyone. I believe it was on Monday, and so we’re just waiting. In fact, I have to call our attorney to find out whether they’ve got the meeting. We are requesting a temporary restraining order on the project and also an injunction so that we can take this case to where it needs to go.

Like I said, we got the Fulton Fish Market that they joined in the mending of the lawsuit last week. That’s twelve hundred jobs, mostly union, five hundred jobs specifically to the Bronx, and those are good full time jobs.

In addition, we’ve got the Point Lookout Club that’s a historic fishing club from nineteen fifty two. That is over one hundred recreational fishermen that fished that area and beyond in Hudson Canyon. They’ve joined the lawsuits. So we basically have everyone wrapped up now from oh Cape May, New Jersey, all the way to New Bedford, Massachusetts and the entire

seafood chain. So we’re very excited about that. I’m looking forward to going to the rally at six thirty in the morning on a Tuesday, and I think there’s also planning on being one the following Saturday in Long Beach.

Right now it’s slated for ten am.

Speaker 1 Now. I heard from the congressman we spoke to the other day that the de fact was Albany couldn’t get any of the Democratic people from Long Island to cooperate with them, and they had to get somebody from the Bronx.

Do the Democrats in Long Island realize what the heck the Albany is doing to Long Island?

Speaker 2 I don’t know that they’re where, but I guarantee you the small businesses and rate payers will be. We’ve got Empire alone is one hundred and fifty five dollars a megawatt hour, when the New York independent service operators right now the average is thirty nine dollars a megawatt hour.

So just do the mass it’s just under four times and that doesn’t include the transmission cost. So for people I know, our bill is usually in the summertime when the air conditioning about three hundred bucks. That means twelve hundred bucks, which who can afford that? And small businesses that use a lot of energy. We’ve got a multi

aquaculture nam against it. His bill is three thousand dollars a month, so now quadruplet, it’s insane. No one will be able to afford it. We’ll have to choose between eating and heating or using our electricity.

Speaker 1 So I mean, when I’m saying that Aubany is selling Long Island down the river, I mean I’m not too far off.

Speaker 2 I’ve been doing it for years. No. No, In fact, unfortunately, our former governor, Governor Cuomo, he started that whole ball rolling with clean Energy Standard in twenty fourteen or twenty fifteen. Nicerta is the group that’s been doing this to us.

They’re the ones that procured the energy from Empire Winds. They’re the ones that did it also for Sunrise and for I believe there’s one more on the target, but they didn’t. They stopped it because of the Trump administration’s presidential memorandum. But no, they don’t apparently care about what the consumer pays. I guess they’re just kind of virtue signaling, unfortunately,

and it’s going to hurt everyone manufacturing. I mean, you know that better than anyone. It’s going to be insane, all for something that is highly unreliable, only works about thirty eight percent of the time, and will destroy the ocean and destroy our seafood sources in the domestic production of the United States. No sense whatsoever, Bunny Brady, thank

you for the update.

Speaker 1 Anything else you want to tell all Long Islanders in all New Yorkers?

Speaker 2 Uh yeah, feel free to hit me up on tw or Facebook. I put information out there about all the things I’m talking about. I’m not just making it up. There’s lots of data. They can contact me via email also, and I’ll be glad to explain any of it to them.

Thank you, Awsome so much. Protect our Coast, New Jersey and Clean Ocean Action and ax Fur Whales are funding this lawsuit. They are all C threes. If anyone wants to donate, they can go find them online and donate their C threes so it’s tax deductible.

Speaker 1 Thank you, Thank you so much, Bonnie Brady, and we’ll talk again soon.
