Offshore Wind Farms Pose a National Security Threat
Transcript
Automated transcript · uncorrectedWell, Sunday morning, What the heck is going on with those windmills now killing our environment? They’re killing all whales, they’re killing our fishing industry, and they’re doubling and tripling the price of electricity. What is the gay today? To give us an update? Is Bonnie Brady? And Bonnie, you’ve been working so hard for how many years now?
Oh? My gosh, I’ve been fighting off for win since two thousand and three. John. I’d really like to get a break at some point, but I’ve been working for commercial fishermen in one capacity or another for about twenty five years.
Wow, and you’re you know, you sound like there’s a lot of wind. Are you offshoreing now?
No? I’m actually en route back from our fundraiser for renewing the Fisherman Sewardship Association at Cook’s Lobster and Alehouse on Baley’s Island, So I’m on my way back home.
It sounds good. Now, give us an update. What is going on? Are you stupid windmills that are killing everything? Well?
The latest is a judge out of Oregon put forth an injunction in favor of renewable energy groups, wind farm company owners on land and offshore and all their friends in the various states that are on the green energy train, in addition to all the environmental groups that are all shoving us down our throats. And this judge was named
to Her name is Karen Immigrant. She’s a President Trump appointee, and she basically ruled on statutory specific laws that were not followed that must be when you have a problem, even when it comes out of the Department’s Defense, as you may recall, Department of Defense months ago said, hold up, this is in May. We’re going to pause all of
these wind farms because we’ve got national security concerns because of drones, low flying aircraft, and the fact that these turbines create a lot of what they refer to as clutter, meaning basically, when you are near one of these areas, it creates all these targets that don’t exist. So if you’re an airplane pilot or something like that, you go
into the area and you can’t see where real objects exist and which ones are fake. For national security, if you’re watching from the shores to try to prevent someone from landing drones on your shores and creating the next nine to eleven, you can’t see who’s coming at you.
It’s the same reason as you recall Sweden canceled twelve out of thirteen offshore wind projects because it will reduced their defensive response time. It’s there was an incoming missile heading to them from two minutes to sixty seconds. So the Department of War very appropriately said, hold up, we have to figure this out. We’ve got a lot of
national security concerns. Especially we learned this from the drones in Ukraine the Iran war right now that’s going on. They’re everywhere, all this kind of warfare that we only saw in the movie theater. And apparently Judge Immerget said, well, that’s great and fine, but there’s something called the Procedures Act, Administrative Procedures Act, and that says you have to do
it in a certain way. And she ruled that the government did not do what they were supposed to. They just basically put stuff on pause. She said, hey, you can look at each project individually and say no national security issue, no worries, but you have to follow the law as Congress wrote it. So what does that mean
for us, poor slabs? I feel like who was a woman Colleen Rowley who was the FBI person saying, hey, we got a problem with this guy, this fellow who went to flight school, and we think it’s an issue.
A month before nine to eleven. They aren’t necessarily doing what can be done. We haven’t gotten anything from Congress. We haven’t gotten any complete judge. We have judges they are ninety two years old that don’t believe that these are real issues, even though you’ve got a military guy with twenty five years of experience who wrote about it
in his petition saying these are real issues. And they started years ago when they created the checks and balances to see if they were because apparently there was a plane that went down because a wind farm blocked like a tornado or some weather event, so they couldn’t see and the plane wound up crashing as a result. They’re
huge issues, and the biggest thing that I want to try to put out they’re tongue, is I know your audience is all the way from the presidents, throughout the cabinet, throughout everyone. The big issue that supposedly needs to be done by the federal government. Now, they don’t have to wait for a fix for Congress on identifies a threat,
but Interior Secretary Burgham, he holds the break. He can order BOEM to stop construction immediately for national security reasons, throughout the assumptions underlying the old review, and require a new review using today’s classified threat information. And if that review shows these offshore arrays create a national security vulnerability that cannot be mitigated, and we already have the documents
that show that that is true, Interior has the ability authority to cancel the leases. It’s the fastest path, and we need someone in our federal government to start that ball rolling.
Well, Bonnie Brady, thank you for your update, and let’s catch up again real soon because this is important to all of us, and it raises energy course, it kills beautiful animals, and it kills the environment at the same time, and kills the fishing industry. Thank you so much, and and we’ll sen you Wilson.
And it could very well kill us, John if we don’t stop this national security threat. Thank you,
