Speaker 1 Sunday morning. Well, what’s going on in New York City with us today? Is Hank Shankoff Well, a Democratic strategist and once more guy, one good friend and one great New Yorker. Well, Hank, we had primaries in Minnesota, we had primaries in South Carolina, and we had primaries all over the place. Give us the pulse of the situation.

Is there anything different in those primaries that you picked up or also we’re going to cover whatever’s going on in New York.

Speaker 2 Well? Thanks first, John, thank you having me on in good morning to your list, is you know, look, what is happening in the country. It seems is that a younger people are rejecting older people, and that the Democrat base is the Democrat base that was in primaries as far as much younger and is being pushed to turn

out by the left. And the battle is really between the left and the center and the Democrats and on the other and the rest of the country. The battle is between what we consider normal and what we don’t know anything about. You can see it in voted turnouts and how voters are voting.

Speaker 1 Were you surprised in any of the primaries that we had last week?

Speaker 2 Now, I was surprised that it took so long as it did for John Larson, for example, the incumbent congressman in Connecticut, to be defeated. He’s older and the time passes. So there’s a movement for youth and a movement to get new people in government. That’s part of it. Was surprising that the lsayad run in Michigan the previous we’d know,

wasn’t surprising that the left wing candidate in Wisconsin lost by the margins she did that tight. That was somewhat surprising because the Poland data indicated that she was going to win handily. You know, there’s a last minute movement here by Americans to a wonderful moment. If the country should be pushed all the way to the left, and

if anyone group should be dominant, I mean, it is kind of interesting to watch. And people are not also understan any that the country is going to an extraordinary demographic shift. We are in all over the European based country.

The people who are come here or are from Asia, from the South America, from Africa, and our basic sense of what makes an American is yet to be defined. In the twenty first.

Speaker 1 Century, understood. So there’s a there’s a change of complexion non European and more Asian, more Caribbean, more Hispanic. Now this all these people that came in through the when Biden was a president, tell us you know, has that made a big substantial difference in the voting in two twenty four, twenty six.

Speaker 2 It’s too early to tell. I mean, you know, the more people were removed from the country by federal authorities in the Biden der excy during the Obama administration been removed thus far by Trump. So it’s kind of interesting to watch how the left and the right to find things in very different ways. But no, but the shifting

population and the voting trends will somehow become much more clear, I think in the twenty twenty eight presidential election, and we’ll see it more carefully about. The population shift is very much around us. The states have changed, the suburban populations are starting to change. The growth is the growth of Latinos’s own, but the growth of people from the

Middle East and from the South Asia. The Muslim population is yet to be fully understood, and the voting patterns are likely to be against anybody who supports Israel. Militarily or in any other way, which is not good news for the country. Because Harry Truman in nineteen forty eight created the Truman doctrine using Greek, Greece, and Turkey as

the stanchions that would block Soviet expansion in the Mediterranean basin, the United States is relied in Israel to kind of do the same thing. Not communism anymore, but TechEd American interests, and the attack on the on American foreign policy is largely being hidden through an attack on Jews in Israel.

And that’s not good news for a whole host of reasons, which are you can go on for some long discussion understood.

Speaker 1 What else you want to talk about this Sunday morning, New York, Yeah, New York. Yeah, I mean right now, I’m very much concerned about New York the same as Yu are.

Speaker 2 Well, we should be concerned about New York. Look, John, we’re going when you have the kinds of elections that that defined that you can make comparisons to with what happened with the with now the new incumbents Zarmandami. What you see is generally in those kinds of settings, a major shift in population and economics at the same top.

There are previous examples Lindsay’s elections, Guianni’s election. I mean where you have tremendouships for some traumatic incident Mike Bloomberg’s arrival as president in two thousand, when these are all examples of dramatic shifts and population economics or incidents around us.

What we don’t know really what the mandamicension means. We do know that the left believes it’s in control and some of the things they’ve talked about are fatly on American and certainly anti New York. Whether they can get this stuff done is questionable. I don’t think they can.

I also am concerned about a week governor who is letting him do whatever he wants in the interest of getting to the election cycle with her winning is all that matters to her taking on Mamdani, who’s threatened violence in the streets, essentially ginned up people for the period during the New York Generalists, when the general selling that

meets in New York is doubly dangerous because a lot of our income is derived from the foreign community, and making it more likely they’ll be violence by gmming that up and chaos is not good news for New York.

So I think we’re going through a period of transition. I’m not sure what it means yet. We’re going to see new neighborhoods be developed. We’re also going to see the most the most tampered generation of mankind move into New York. Think they have opportunities to complain that they are not getting out of the country, but they think

they deserve which is what the Mandami, which we got a large part of the Mondami constituency, is all about.

Speaker 1 Hank shank Koff. Thank you for coming on this Sunday morning, and it’s you went to senagogue yesterday, I’m going to church today, and let’s pray for New York, let’s pray for America, and we’ll catch up against him.

Speaker 2 All the best, John, thank you so much for having me on
