Speaker 1 Sunday morning. Well, this morning is Dick Morris, one of the smartest guys I know. I was good friends with Bill Clinton, good friends with Donald Trump. And what’s going on in Washington? I would rather ask Dick Morris than anybody else. Dick, tell us give us an update.

Speaker 2 Well, to backtrack of touch, when Biden dropped out, Kamela had a surge of support because at last of them, I said, not have an eighty year old candidate run who could barely speak English. And she got a good bump from that.

The polling show particularly among jen G voters, people under thirty, and among blacks, not among Hispanics, but among blacks. And as a result of the bump, the Trump’s lead closed, and the consensus of most poeing now is that Trump has a lead, had a leader of about one point, and it’s grown since then to three or four points

and perhaps as much as five. And that’s the current race. The importance, I figure, it’ll sort yourself out in September, because you always have the Democratic Convention. Ago.

Speaker 2 Yeah, well, the key thing in September won’t be the convention. It’ll be the debate between Trump and Harris. And I think that’s going to be very significant. But well, I think is important from a strategic and historical point of view is that the Democrats had a chance to close the deal on Harris. When she got the denomination, she

got a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of people open their minds, a lot of people said, who’s Camela Harris and wanted to get details and information about her. And frankly, Trump campaign did not do a very good job of knocking her. They had negative ads, but not the quantity they needed, and camberilloyasly survived that. What she did not

survive is her own silence and the decision to bury her under a rock and not let her to any TV or radio or print interviews with any independent sources and just have canned speeches where she have a teleprompter and not really say much. Even then gave voters the impression that there was really no there there and she

wasted her welcome And well, we don’t have the minute by minute polling that we need to understand exactly what’s happening. I believe that Harris jumped out to a little bit of believe erase of schemes and then fell back, And I think Trump has in the last three days moved up ahead. I think that what’s going on right now

is very positive for Trump because he’s addressing the economy and issues of great importance and she is doing nothing. But she just made a proposal for price controls and groceries, which basically means you won’t be able to buy groceries because they won’t make them anymore, they won’t put them on the shelves, and because price controls never work and

they always backfy it and just gives her a SoundBite to rail against profit guging. But they won’t do much about inflation. And I think that.

Speaker 1 You’re going to pull out every trick in the book.

Speaker 2 Yeah they are, they are, of course they always would. But I think they missed the bet. I think that they come out with some really important proposals and some good ideas in that honeymoon period they might have sutified their vote. I think analysts and historians will say that there was a major missed opportunity by Aris, and now

she has to go into a debate where Trump is going to be very aggressive with her. Trump has been very good in his events in the last couple days. Before that, he was basically just frustrated and lashing out with negative name calling almost But the fact is that in the last two weeks he’s calmed down. There’s much

less of that and caperboy. Yesterday he gave this lengthy press conference of an hour where he had exhibits to show how much things cost now as opposed to what they did when he was president, and really did a whole number on inflation, not just that products, but at that interest rates, at mortgage rates, and home insurance, the

whole panoply of inflation. I think was very effective. And I think that Trump’s presentation and Trump’s issues are increasingly pardon upon trumping Kamela’s saw just quality.

Speaker 1 Do you think she’s capable of debating on the same Uh, you know, to win there’s a debate.

Speaker 2 Yeah, I don’t think she’ll win, and I think she’ll badly expose And she had a choice. I advised her not to debate, but she has to do.

Speaker 1 And well, that’s what I’m saying. I think that the Democrats are much too smart to allow her to debate.

Speaker 2 Well, they have to. She’s already agreed to a debate and she can’t back out. Whether they’ll agree more than one debate. I don’t know, but it doesn’t really matter. People will very quickly see how unprepared Harris is, have scattered brains, and like where she is. And I don’t think she’s going to come out of that debate in

very good shape. I think a.

Speaker 1 Couple of days ago, a couple of days ago, they set up a date October first. I think for the vice presidential debates, what do you think about that?

Speaker 2 Well, I think that those would be less consequential because I think the important issue by that point would be what is halis capable able? Is she a good candidate in case? She ready for prime time? And then those will all be negative, and I think there’s nothing a VP debate can do to resurrect that.

Speaker 1 Well, Dick Morris, I’m gonna listen to you. You’re back. I’m glad you’re back and you’re healthy. You’ll be on between twelve noon and two o’fox this afternoon on Sunday afternoon, and I lift those you so third of hearing you.

Speaker 2 Okay, you take care by bye. Text it
