Speaker 1 Sunday Morning with us is Dick Morris, and one of the smartest guys I know. He was an advisor to Bill Clinton, advisor to Donald Trump. Dick Morris, what the heck is going on in our country, in our state or cities whatever? Tell us, Well.

Speaker 2 The thing that is on my mind right now is what’s going on between Hopel and Adams over the controversy that’s going on between them. I think that the that this began when Adam Adams was indicted under the Biden administration on a totally phony set not a phony set of charges, but he didn’t come to question set saying

that he had gotten a first class airfare from Turkey and some stuff that really was not related to anything important in New York or in the country, and the indictment was widely seen as a retaliation to Adams working with Biden over the illegal immigrantation. And when Trump came in office, one of the early things he did was

shot Pam Bondi to the age to settle the laws. He dismissed the indictment and move on, and the left in New York claimed that this was a deal that was made where he is an indictment that they said, oh, it was very serious. Was thrown out by the DOJ because they made deal with Adams to enforce the immigration

law and to begin to deport people in New York City. Back then here, it’s almost impossible to deport the large numbers of immigrants from New York City. We were here illegally without the cooperation of the police department, and there were so many illegal immigrants in New York. Some say over a minion that this is an absolute crucial element

of Trump me Trumps to the man to support those who were here there regally. And with that in mind, Hockel then began to muse that you might remove Adams from the malty and because of the because he made a deal to avoid the indictment, and Hochel decided not to remove Adams, but instead she imposed very significant restrictions

on him. They basically stood New York with a lot of its home rule powers and cast straight Adams make it impossible for him to be and the mayor. And what not being reported is this is really an effort by the left to stop deplotations of illegal immigrants in New York and to basically say that if that, unless

that breaks for the law and agrees that New York can be a sanctuary city. They’re going to effectively cast straight his ability to function as mayor and that that’s outrageous and it just stands New.

Speaker 1 York because why, why, why is the governor hope for doing that? I mean, is somebody at the Old White House pushing the buttons and saying you should do that, you should take the leadership of the Democratic Party.

Speaker 2 Well, it could be, it could be, but I think the more immediate thing is that she is under a lack of pressure from the left to stop the deportations in New York City and make New York City the fact there is sanctuary city. By holding the mayor hostage with these ridiculous curbs on his power and authority and

saying unless you follow up a line, will the Reserve said? Whatything you’re doing as mayor? The scandal that led to this, the indictment about and had nothing to do with any something significance about city finance, and yet they’re using it to impose restrengths on Adams. They are akin to those that happened during the Big Mac era, where the governor

took away New York’s power to sell bombs and to act. And what’s going on here is an effort to really eliminate home rule in New York City because the mayor had the audacity to follow the law and say I’m going to deport illegal immigrants because they’re here illegally. So this is a massive power grab. Just a cut in context.

You the last time a governor moved to quit the or the mayor was during the fiscal crisis in the seventies in New York City, and before that when frank Governor Franklin Eleanor Roosevelt removed Mayor Jimmy Walker from power in the nineteen thirties as he was planning to run for president. So this is this is a dramatic departure.

The announced to sort of cudate against Mayor Adams so that they can deport illegal so that they can stop the deportation of illegal limitrants.

Speaker 1 Absolutely, I mean the way I felt. I keep telling people, if their criminals get rid of them, send them back to where they came from. And I don’t know why anybody’s fighting me on it.

Speaker 2 Yeah, Well they’re fighting because they want them here and they want their vote. And that’s pretty simple.

Speaker 1 Think they want the vote at the of course of the American people’s live.

Speaker 2 I don’t you think Hispanics do not do it legally here? And the citizens don’t want these illegals here, they want them gone too. In fact, they’re the reason they’ve fled then, as well over the other countries. I camp in Mexico to stop the reach of these people.

Speaker 1 Well, Dick Morris, thank you for calling in this Sunday morning. What are you going to be talking about on your show at noontime we’ll be telling that.

Speaker 2 This this is such a dramatic, dramatic change in New York history. And William Manters I said to a cup data against the mayor by the left, it could.

Speaker 1 Have been a lot worse too. Well, Dick Morris, I’ll be listening to you at twelve noon this Sunday, a couple hours from now till two o’clock. And thank you for bringing all the American people up to date and keeping on the look. Thank you so much.
