Speaker 1 Sunday Morning with us. Dick Morris, he’s got his ear close to the ground and he knows what the heck is going on. He was an associate of Bill Clinton. Now Donald Trump. Well, Dick Morris, we won back America.

What’s that?

Speaker 2 We sure did? We sure did well. Trump is now facing the issue of getting his appointments confirmed. And the Senators love to delay appointments and scrutinize the nominees, not so much to accept or reject them, but because they feel they can use that to deliveratee the ultimate appointees and get stuff that they want to accomplish. And there

are two nominees of Trumps that are drawing a special scrutiny now. One is Matt Gaets, a congressman from Florida, and the other is Tolfi Gabbard, who briefly ran for president. The rap on Gates is that he was almost indicted for sex trafficking with miners, but he was, but the Justice Department up the investigation. And when the Democratic Justice

Department drops the investigation of a Republican congressman because they can’t find evidence to convey it, you got to assume that there’s nothing there and I think that that’s the case here Gates would be the new Attorney general, and he threatened.

Speaker 1 To run borrow because did you read what Kevin McCarthy said today.

Speaker 2 Yes, okay, I did, and I’m talking about that. I think that McCarthy has a thing about Gates because Gates basically toppled him from the speakership and used his power as a congressman to object to McCarty in the mass of the House of that in those days, that was enough to think McCarthy so wouldn’t pay much attention to that.

I think that basically Trump is named the nominee who would completely change the Justice Department and stopped and fire those people who tried to politicize it against him and against the entire Republican Party. And that means Gore in a bunch of boxes and firing a lot of people.

So because of those who are opposing Gates’s appointment are pulling out all the stops to try to kill it. In the main case is that Gates was almost indicted for sex trafficking with miners. But the point is he was not indicted. The Republican Sorry, the Democratic Justice Department dropped the case and did not prosecute because they felt

they couldn’t convict them. Now, when a democratic justice department as biased as Biden’s was does not, that does not indict a Republican congressman.

Speaker 1 I have no respect. I had no respect for President Biden’s Justice Department.

Speaker 2 Yeah, it’s horrible and uh. And when the people there decide not to indict a public congressman who’s a big prison of theirs she got who assume that they don’t have a case and you got to get the guys back and can burn so he can go it and house clean. The attorney generals are and it’s just the

stunk at the Garden party who’s going to really change the DOJ and scared to death of it. And that’s why.

Speaker 1 They’re Well, I’ll give you my interpretation. There’s two ways to look at it. Uh. The other way is that that there was nobody, Uh, there was nobody in the Justice Department that President Trump trusted, not that he didn’t trust his first Attorney general and he didn’t trust the second attorney general. Is that correct?

Speaker 2 It was right both times.

Speaker 1 And there’s nobody in the department in the Pentagon, none of the three star generals, none of the four star generals that he feels good about.

Speaker 2 Yeah, I think that’s right. There are two huge establishments he’s taking on, the Justice Department and the Defense Department. And the Justice Department.

Speaker 1 That’s a big job, you know what. That’s a big job.

Speaker 2 Yeah, I know. And there are dismantling these establishments is huge and it’s going to step on a lot of toes and those of why that’s why they’re raising controversy to try to think the Gates and Gabbard’s nominations. But there’s no basis for thinking the Gates nomination. If the Republican justice it’s the Democratic Justice Department couldn’t figure out

a way to prosecute a Republican congressman, you got to assume that there’s nothing there. And as the gabber, what Trump is trying to do is here the defense departments away from the traditional preoccupation with Russia and instead to focus on the upcoming throughout China and the establishment of the DEA of the Defense Department. Doesn’t want to do that,

so she using gabbles some of these and said she might be a rushed in the spy. And it’s not that he wants to end the Cold War with Russia and intensify the one with China. So I think some right on boot counts, even though they may they may block him from the Senate confirmation.
