Speaker 1 Sunday Morning. It wouldn’t be without Sunday Morning without Steve Kate’s and you know he enlightens us about what’s going on up there and sometimes down there. Steve Kates, also known as Doctor Sky, tell us what’s going on up there or down there? This week?

Speaker 2 Well, good morning, John, Happy Sunday to you and the listeners. We begin, of course, with three interesting topics. A little bit about Mars, the red god of war. People may not know this, but Mars is getting brighter and closer to the Earth as we move into a close position in January of the new year. What makes this interesting

is that right now on the planet Mars, in the northern hemisphere, we have the equinox. It’s springtime in the northern hemisphere of Mars and autumn in the southern hemisphere. But some news information that is from the world of these Landers and rovers. China’s Zorrong rover has traveled over one and a half miles on the surface of Mars,

and it too has found the evidence of a dried lake bed, maybe bringing up the subject of who knows what life might existed in the past in an area of Mars called Utopia Plenesia so the.

Speaker 1 Beach just China does. China put out a press release every time they find something.

Speaker 2 They sure do, John, and they’re very proud of their machine on the surface of Mars because they did something incredible. They not only sent a orbiter to Mars, they sent a descent module to land, and they also sent the rover in all one fell swoop, which took us, in so many other nations a long time to do all that.

So the beef goes on about whether life does exist under the surface of Mars. And as you and I have talked about, there’s probably reservoirs of water right under Mars. How about that?

Speaker 1 Probably there was also where is water? Sometimes there is life on the other it’s on Voyager too, now Voyager one that we heard from a couple of weeks ago. On Voyager two, I understand there was some interesting facts when it passed by the planet of Uranius.

Speaker 2 Yes, Uranus as we call it, the god of the sky in Greek and Roman mythology. We’re finding out that when that particular spacecraft passed a long time ago, something unusual happened on the planet that hasn’t been seen before.

What was that? Apparently there’s a connection between the satellites, I should say, of Uranus creating this big magnetic field. So, just like Jupiter, what we find out about Uranus, it’s not a dormant planet at all. And sadly, John, for the place, you know, the life forms that exist on Urinus, if there are any, the planet rolls in orbits totally

on its side. So Urinus, as those other planets out there, were learning so much about the mysteries of the Solar System simply not as simple as we once thought. I thought, that’s amazing.

Speaker 1 That is amazing, because who knows what’s up there? I mean, I hope we find out in our lifetime.

Speaker 2 I hope. So, John, and we have some amazing stories to report here too. About gravity. Well, some are saying in the world of quantum physics, this is deep gravity may be a quantum field and not just a force.

So what does that mean to this early Sunday. All the forces of nature are electromagnetism, strong and weak force of the nuclear side, and we find gravity but gravity is the weakest. So what now scientists are saying is that gravity itself may be something like this force that’s out there in the quantum field that is totally without

the definition. Right now, it sounds crazy to talk about what we don’t know, But these unraveling mysteries in the quantum part of the universe, maybe we have to change our whole theory of what gravity is. It’s simply the bending of space time. It gets way more complicated.

Speaker 1 Well, I did tell you that I can’t tell you where I know it from. We do have anti gravity. Well it’s not plans whatever we have. We do have the technology for anti gravity. What else is going on?

Speaker 2 Absolutely? Well, John, we have the mystery of the week. People seem to enjoy this, and so do Why how about this? The great Greek philosopher Plato, in one of his dialogues that he wrote called Timaeus, postulated that there was this city of Atlantis. Now, he did this to show that maybe we shouldn’t think of ourselves in the

island nation of Greece as the only existence of intelligence out there for people. He thought there might be something in the Atlantic Ocean called Atlantis. But if we dig deeper, we now find out that He also speculated that about ninety six hundred VC, a civilization existed right there in the Aegean Sea. There’s that island called Santorini and it’s volcano.

And now we’re finding out more evidence that over the course of time there is indeed what the scientists and the archaeologists know as an interesting sunken city. Maybe that is a derivation or an understanding of what Atlantis really was.

Speaker 1 What say you, Well, I think there’s all kinds of possibilities. I still can’t put it out of my mind. The one conversation we had about Antarctica in the map that Turkish captain had a thousand years ago.

Speaker 2 That’s totally mystifying, John. How could they find and predict correctly the shape and size of Antarctica when they had no satellites or anything. And it probably wasn’t by sheer luck. So that is a truly amazing story. Well, Steve, Steve.

Speaker 1 Kate tell you. I’ll tell you it does expand online on Sunday mornings.

Speaker 2 Well, thank you, John. We end off with the live sky. People can see the remnants of the full super Beaver moon November fireballs if you look up in the northeast sky from two meteor showers. And what do we say, John, always remember to keep your eyes to the sky. Is more the doctor I experience at w ABC radio dot com.

You have a good Sunday you too. For the listeners, Thank you, Steve Piggs,
