Speaker 1 Calling in from Europe. We have Mario Oconomo, our correspondent there. Let’s us know what the heck is going on. He is a former banker in New York, London and Zurich with big money center banks, and he raised in Europe, so he has the pulse of what’s going on. Mario, give us the pulse of what’s going on after the

Trump election and how is the European prime ministers and heads of state handling it.

Speaker 2 Yeah, so good morning, mister Katsuma TV sum. In light of the various cabinet appointments that President luc Trump is actually undertaking at the moment, many countries in the Middle East and in Europe for that matter, are shifting their positioning with respect to pretty much everything geopolitical that concerns them.

So let’s quickly start off with Turkey, which is a Turkey, by the way, the new name of Turkey. They’ve now officially broken diplomatic eyes with Israel. And the reason they’ve done this is because they’re using the fact that Israel is continuing to bomb in Gaza and in Lebanon. But also their principal concern is that Israel there’s discussions that

Israel wants to support the Kurds to create a Kurdistan, which would occupy roughly, in some estimates, up to one third of the eastern part of Turkia. That of course, would drag Iran in in Turkya and Iran are both working together on this because the last thing they want to see is a Curtis state on their borders and

within their countries. Iran has actually announced that it will not attack Israel. It’s going to hold off for now, and the Foreign Minister of Iran has actually said that even though Iran and the United States have different opinions on a lot of things, they are open to a dialogue with President elect Trump when he becomes president in

order to settle any and all differences. In Saudi Arabia, they have actually announced that they support Iran, and they have said that they are not prepared to create that agreement with Israel whereby they will recognize Israel and less there’s an immediate ceasefire and a two state solution. There’s also some talk and this is out there, but it

hasn’t really been confirmed because it’s something that’s difficult to confirm. But there’s some discussions that Saudi Arabia and the Emirates are now thinking about actually pulling their funds out of Western banks. Of course, if that were to happen, it would wreak havoc on the Western banking system. We also know that Russia has licensed the development the production of

thirty five Su of seventy five SU thirty five planes to Iran. This is a huge transfer of technology. The Bricks did also announce. Russia has said that for now they’re going to hold off on a new currency which will compete with the dollar. This principally because they want to see what President Electrump will do once he becomes

president with respect to the Ukraine War and to the sanctions that have been imposed on Russia. For its part, the US has announced it’s going to establish a military base, a rather large one in Poland and in Finland. The one in Finland is being done because what they want to do currently in order to see what’s going on

up there, the US flies drones from Italy all the way up through northern Europe and into Finland. The idea is, once you’ve set up a military base in Finland, you can have these drones closer to that area. So they can stay up in the air to see what’s going on on the Russian side. Now, why are all these

things important because everybody once again is positioning themselves to see what President Trump will actually do when he becomes president.

Speaker 1 So what do you think?

Speaker 2 So my opinion is the following. I think what President Trump is doing is he’s putting together a cabinet which is tough. These are that have very strong views with respect to Turkia or Turkey, they have very strong views with respect to Russia, they have very strong views with respect to China. And I think ultimately, at the end

of the day, it’s President Trump that’s going to decide. He’s the one who makes the decisions. But what he’s going to do is he’s going to open a dialogue with parties all around the world and he’s going to basically tell them that he’s interested in a peaceful solution and resolution not only to the wars, but also to

trade moving forward. And if people don’t conform to that, he’s going to show them or basically tell them. The alternative is they’re going to have to deal with the various hardliners that he’s appointed in his cabinet. So my guess is people are going to want to work with President Trump and with the United States. Will we go

back to where we were when he was president last time around? No, because the world has changed. But if he’s able to stop these two current wars at least, that’ll be a very good start.

Speaker 1 Understood, And you really think Turkey that Israel would help the currents at this stage of the game. But they have four wars going on at the same time. Already they have Hamas Iran a husband law and in the who is how can you start another war?

Speaker 2 You raised a very good point, and a lot of people in Europe are saying that at the end of the day Israel will decide and President Trump will go along with it. The reality is very different. I don’t believe that will be the case. I believe President Trump he’s already told President Nittanyahu, do whatever you have to

do by the twentieth because after that pretty much everything stops.

Speaker 1 You want to know something, knowing knowing knowing. President Trump, in my opinion is he did tell that to Netting Yahoo, do what you have to do, and Yahoo has the confidence that the United States of America will back him up.

After the twentieth.

Speaker 2 Uh that I don’t know. I don’t think anybody knows. But I think you shouldn’t underestimate President Trumps my opinion. Yeah, he’s not the president.

Speaker 1 He’s not the president twentieth.

Speaker 2 That’s correct. But President Trump believes in friendships. But much like in anything else in business or the political world, friendships only go so far. At some point, somebody on one side comes out the winner and he has to lay down the law. And I don’t think President Trump will allow President Natanya who to do as he wishes,

especially if it acts the US.

Speaker 1 Negative understood, I understand that. I you know, you’re you’re right. Friendships just go so far. You’re one hundred percent right in that one. Well, Mario, thank you so much for coming on this Sunday morning, and uh and you know we’ll play it out and see what happens.

Speaker 2 Thank you and enjoy your day, you too,
