Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday Morning with This is Governor George Bertaki, and he cares about the people of Ukraine. He’s been there several several times to help them. And there’s a lot of things happening, Governor Pataki. What is going on is reports that some of the Ukrainian leaders are in China wanting to use China to negotiate with Russia. What are you here?
You know, it’s just incredible, John, that after two and a half years now of the US supporting Ukraine, they feel the need to go talk to the Chinese. And it’s an indictment of Biden Harris administration that is so weak that even the Ukrainians don’t think they’re capable of negotiating a reasonable deal. Since the war began, I think
there are two things that are clear. First, Russia will never conquer Ukraine. Ukrainians are a strong, independent people. They have sacrificed enormously fighting against Russia, and they have done it incredibly well when you consider that at the beginning, both Russia and the United States thought Ukraine can only hold out for three or four days, and now it’s
almost two and a half years later and Ukraine is still holding its own against Russia, so Russia is not going to conquer Ukraine. The second thing that is becoming more and more impertive is that it’s unlikely that Ukraine without more support, meaning troops from NATO and the United States, are not going to be able to push Russia from
all the territory it has illegally taken. So that more and more of the Ukrainians are looking at this and saying, we can have war for another three, four, five, six years, or we can negotiate a reasonable settlement that protects our independence and gives us back some of the land the Russians have taken. This is something that has been apparent
for the last year. But the Biden Harris administration is so weak, they are so disrespected by the global powers that even Ukraine is now turning to China part of the access of evil with Russia, China, North Korea and Iran to try to see if this war can be resolved.
It’s really an indictment of weakness by Biden and Harris.
Understood, and I mean it’s been going on for so long. Governor, what do you expect to happen if President Trump becomes president?
You know, President Trump has been saying that he would look to solve it on day one, And my honestew is that for the last year plus it has been it could be settled. Ukrainians want all their land back, but they’re starting to learn since their spring of their Summer offensive last year was unable to put the US
push the Russians out of much territory, that there probably is going to have to be a settlement. And Russia will look at Trump and say we better settled because we don’t know what this guy will do. So I think Trump has a reasonable prospect if he gets elected, of being able to settle the Ukrainian war quickly, which
is one of the reasons I think, John, that China has jumped into the mix trying to be the heroes, the good guys and get it resolved before the American elections.
Well, governor patacking anything else on a Sunday morning, you want to tell the American.
People, you know, John, It’s just that these are challenging times when countries like Ukraine turn to China, and it just shows how we the United States has perceived to be by all the countries overseas. But they better not misconculate this is still a great country, a strong country.
We still have the world’s greatest military, and I think Americans would be united if aggression were to take place against an ally of ours. So you know this is these are tough times, but we’re America. We’re going to get through it. John, and I hope you enjoy the rest of Sunday and have the rest of the summer
to enjoy yourself.
God bless America. We’ll catch you up again real soon.
Thank you, thank you. Joh
