Speaker 1 Sunday morning. Well, what the heck is going on in New York State? I mean, we still have problems in Albany, and I just spoke to a couple of days ago to Charlie Gasparino. Hey, you guys a new book, Go Woke, Go Broke. Well, Senator George Burrello is with us, and he’s from Western New York and a lot of his

constituents are having a similar problems out there. Senator tell us about what’s going on in Western New York.

Speaker 2 Well, first of all, great to be back on with you, was on a while ago that we were on together. Look, Western New York is, like most of New York, we are losing population that people can no longer afford basics like food on their table and gas in their car.

And that’s the story throughout New York State. Quite honestly, we’re concerned about you know, you mentioned Go Woke, Go Broke. That’s what’s happening in New York. Taxes are going up because people are leaving. People, the productive folks that can actually pay taxes and employ people are leaving New York State in record numbers, as well as families. So it’s

a it’s a problem, and New York State continues to drive people out of the state, and the people middle class especially is suffering.

Speaker 1 Hey, they are suffering, and they’re making some strange laws up there. I mean, I can’t figure out I get the New York State Business Console. We got pulled Zubern all the time that gives the consumers in New York State.

I mean, can we burn fire? What yet in my fireplace?

Speaker 2 Well, that’s gonna be next. You know, they want to get rid of all of that. They want to rid of our gas stoves. You know, we’re gonna go all electric, even though they don’t know the costs. The controller Tom Dnopoley just came out with a report, a scathing report that there’s just no plan and no budget for this

electrification and this conversion. Yet they’re moving forward with it.

Speaker 1 There’s no there’s not enough electricity for them to push forward with all these electric cars. There’s no doubt.

Speaker 2 And you know, as of right now, you know, even Nicerta admits that there’s not enough electricity. The infrastructure in our grid can’t handle it. And if you even look at the Climate Action Council’s proposal, there’s more energy needed going forward than we have produced in the last fifty years, and it’s going to have to come from, in their words,

sources yet to be identified. So it’s very scary that the far left controls our policy, particular energy policy here in New York State.

Speaker 1 And the other thing that I’m emotional about because I love animals. They’re trying to put windmills in the ocean. And because of the drilling that to have to go down, I mean, it’s really to those windmills go all the way down, they’re killing noels.

Speaker 2 Yeah, we’re seeing that. In fact, I’m fighting a fight in western New York. They want to put industrial wind turbines into lake, which is the drinking water for over eleven million people, and many of which are in New York State. It’s outrageous and like killing the birds, absolutely bats, birds, they’re slaughtering. H You are endangered bald eagles by the thousands.

And you know, this whole idea that we have to destroy our natural environment in order to save the planet is ridiculous. But that is the narrative of the woke left.

Speaker 1 And now tell me about the you’re you’re in charge of raising money to equalize the New York State State Senate because right now the Democrats, which are go will go broke on a lot of them, is uh have as a supermajority and even defeats the what the governor wants to do and what the mayor wants to do.

Speaker 2 Yes, I’m the chairman of the Senate Republican Campaign Committee. We have to restore balance to our state government. And one party rule has been an abject failure and disaster for New York State. Most New Yorkers feel that the quality of life is declining. So for me, this is about electing more Republicans, folks. I got to tell you,

you know, voting for a different Democrat isn’t going to cut it. This is about really endorsing those folks and supporting those folks. They’re going to push back against the radical left that have truly destroyed the quality of life in our state in a very short period of time.

Speaker 1 Understood, And and you’re working on towards it, and I understand even the governor is not happy what she has in her state. Senate.

Speaker 2 Well, keep in mind that right now the Democrats negotiate with the power of having a supermajority, the ability to override a gubernatorial veto on anything, So breaking that supermajority means the governor, you know, should she choose to, would be able to to veto something and they cannot override that.

That is a game changer in the policy makeup of New York State. So that is priority. But ultimately restoring balance by bringing Republicans back into the majority in the state Senate is the true solution.

Speaker 1 The state Senate, how many people, how many do Republicans are there? How many Democrats are there?

Speaker 2 So there’s sixty three senators total, forty two Republicans, excuse me, forty two Democrats. I wish forty two Republicans and twenty one Republicans. So they have a two to one majority right now. So it’s a supermajority. We’ed literally by one seat, So netting one seat would break that supermajority.

Speaker 1 Understood, And then they can’t override the governor if somebody crazies just want to do something stupid.

Speaker 2 Yeah, so they need they would need Republicans in order to override that veto And I think that’s key. But we have to get people to talk again. This whole idea of this government that’s no longer transparent it’s no longer accountable. It’s almost machiavellian in the fact that we don’t know who’s really running the show most days. But

the reality is the people that are running the show are the most radical elements of the far left. They are the policy makers. They are setting the tone for what goes on here in New York State.

Speaker 1 Now, if they want common sense in Olbani and you need to win at least one seat, how do they contribute towards common sense?

Speaker 2 Well, you know, I would tell people first and foremost to look us up. We are the State Republican Camp, the State Senate Republican Campaign Committee SRCC. Senate Republican Campaign Committee. You can look us up online, support our efforts, support your local Republican candidates in the New York State Senate across the state. My name is George Burrello. It’s b

as in boy O R R E L l O. You can google me and support our efforts to restore balance here to New York State government SRCC, that Senate Republican Campaign Committee.

Speaker 1 Well, George Burrello, State Senator, thank you for everything you do bring common sense back to our city in our state. Amen.
