Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday Morning with us today is Jack Keane, a four star gentlemen, a Vice Chief of Stafford the United States Tommy and the Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient. Well, General teen, what the heck is going on? I mean, we got problems all over the place. I mean, are we on the verge of World War three?
Well, I think it’s likely. The way I would describe it, you know, we’re in a pre war era. And what I mean by that is China Russia ran in North Korea collaborating and cooperating together, and they have become considerably more aggressive in the last three plus years because they believe the United States is politically weak, they can take
advantage of our vulnerabilities, and they see this as an opportune time. So John, it’s not an isolated event that war is broken out in Europe on a scale not seen since World War II, that Iran has operationalized all of its proxies and we have war again in the Middle East. They’ve shut down the Suez Canal, and they
have fired ballistic missiles at United States Navy warships. And this administration has a hands off approach to Iran. So the aggressiveness is continuing and president she is very aggressive in the Indo Pacific region against Taiwan, the Philippines, in Japan, and certainly his economy is impacted him because it has stalled in its recovery from COVID and what that means
to him remains to be seen. If he’s willing to take greater risks now because of the fact that he’s so challenged at home and he wants to divert his people’s attention to something else. So would I would that were getting closer to it. If we continue down this path where we’re not willing to confront our adversaries, they’re
just going to keep coming for us. John, That’s the reality with facing now.
There’s so many things going on. You got China and Russia. Oh, you know along the coast of Alaska they had what did they have four hundred ships?
Yeah. What they did is conduct one of the largest exercises that they’ve ever conducted. It is in multiple oceans in the somebody was in the Pacific Ocean, it was in the Arctic Ocean, and it was also in the Mediterranean, cast Being and Black Seas where they brought their ships and airplanes together to coordinate and cooperate again. It’s testimony
once again the how serious this cooperation is. And they wanted to project to the world and particularly you know, to our allies and partners that they are they are dominating force in the United States. There is no longer the world leader than it used to be. It no longer has the influence that it used to have. That’s
the message that they’re conveying.
So you got you got that problem in China and Russia being and I’m sure in North Korea is their partner Iran as their partner. Uh. Then Israel, Uh, it seems like they are on their own almost is uh bombing Lebanon to try to straighten out to hoodies. Now, if Israel got in trouble, I’m just gonna ask you
your opinion, is the United States going to back them up?
Yes, if Israel got in trouble, if it needed assistance. Uh, let’s assume the war expands into Lebanon, and if they needed assistance in the air campaign. I don’t think they do, but if they did, I cannot imagine the Biden administration or a successor administration to them say no, they are obligated to respond if they need assistance much. Remember on
April or thirteen, when it was obvious that Iran was going to conduct an offensive missile attack against Israel for the first time ever, the United States put together a coalition of the United States, written, France, and Jordanian aircraft as well as ships in the area to help defend against that against that significant threat that took place there. So, yes,
the United States would come to the aid of Israel.
Understood, And I don’t understand one thing. General, You know, I love America. The Red Sea and the Suez Canal has been under the who does control for too long? Four months, five months, six months, I’m losing track. The United States Navy and Anthelis can solve that problem in three days. Is there a reason why the Commander in
chief hasn’t made a move.
Yes, it’s the same reason why they do half measures in Ukraine. It’s the same reason why they try to micro manage the Israelis. But this administration gets paralyzed john by the fear of adverse consequences. They advocate diplomacy, but they don’t back it up with hard power, and they don’t realize that the consequences of doing nothing also produce
as negative results. They escalation, and I mean, you put your finger on something that is just stunning. All of our allies and partners have commented on it. Here is the United States in the region, and they permitted the houthis back by the Iranians, and the Iranians have the spy ship in the area that provides the targeting for
the Houthis to shoot at the merchant ships. And also they have fired ballistic missiles at US Navy warships. And you’re absolutely right, in very short order, the United States can stop this. The commander of US forces in the region, he’s referred to as the Central Command, Commander, General Eric Krilla, has recommended targets to take down Iran, not to go
to war with Iran. Limited targets. Eliminate the spy ship that’s doing the targeting, take down the very limited navy that Iran has that’s assisting the Hoopies, take down the transportation ships that move all the missiles and rockets to the Hoopies in Yemen, and other limited military targets. This administration has rejected that recommendation time and time again. And
here we sit here and the world looks at supposedly the United States, the world’s global leader, sitting on our hands while the hooties have shut down the Suez Canal. It is absolutely stunning, and it weakens us in the world out there.
General, Can I say something, I am glad I got you to get it off your chest.
You’re absolutely right.
I mean, we’re friends for a while, but I believe you’re getting it off your chest and that’s the right thing to do. On behalf of the citizens of the United States of America.
Always good talking to John.
Thank you so much. You deserve that medical freedom. And God bless America and God bless you. And I hope who’s running the White House right now for the next four months, I don’t know. Thank you so much.
You’re welcome. Thank you
