Speaker 1 What is today is General Jack Keane and he’s a retired American four star general and former Vice chief of Staff of the United States Army and Presidential Medal of Freedom or recipient. UH. General, there’s so many problems in the world right now. The other day on Thursday, I understand, the President met with the Ukrainian Ukrainian President Zarinsky and

they made a deten year deal. What does it mean? Can you explain that to the American people?

Speaker 2 Yes, Well, this is a commitment in the United States is making to Ukrainie and obviously with the President of Ukraine UH to provide to continue to provide intelligence to the Ukrainian which we’re doing, to assist with training Ukrainian military not inside of Ukraine but outside of it, which we which we have been doing for the last two years.

And also a commitment to UH to continue to provide them the resources they need, you know, to help fight the war against the Russians, and also to UH recover and reconstruct their country UH when when the war ends.

So that’s it’s a long term commitment to do that. I think it’s it’s largely symbolic obviously, because President Biden has facing an election and and obviously if there’s a new president of the United States, then uh, he’ll have to determine his own relationship with Ukraine and also with Presidents Lenski. But nonetheless, Uh, it’s a commitment the President

has made to Lensky, and I’m sure as Lensky appreciates it.

Speaker 1 Very much, understand Uh. It annoyed UH for certain things, annoyed President Putin so much that he has sent submarines, he sent navy craft to Cuba. I mean, the joke is sixty two years later, sixty is the Cuban missile crisis a starting all over again?

Speaker 2 No, I think that’s a scretch. First of all, Russia has has done exercises like this in Cuba for a number of years, from for about six or seven years in a row, though just they have not done it since COVID. So, but it isn’t a threat like the Cuban missile crisis. I mean that that was serious because

Russia was intending to put missiles in Cuba that could reach the United States, and that threat was real. We had uncovered the shipment of those missiles and the presence, so that that was a serious threat. This, this is something that’s not threatening in a sense that the there’s no potential here for nuclear weapons use, which there was

with the with the missiles UH. These there’s three frigates. They do carry advanced UH Russian weapons on them, but their maritime conventional weapons as you would normally find on any ship. The nuclear powered submarine that’s with them is the latest submarine that they developed a number of years ago, and they finally has taken them a generation to catch

up to the stealth technology that our submarines have where are very difficult to detect their presence. This submarine has that that kind of capability and carry It carries conventional missiles on it anti ship and the shore missiles that you would find on a typically US attack submarine. I don’t see it as a replication of the human missile

for it. It’s more of shoring up a relationship with Cuba, which is a devastating state. Also, obviously the Russians have always loved the fact that they have a relationship with Cuba ninety miles off the coast of the United States, and certainly sending this kind of capability there is a reminder that Russia does have a military presence. They think

they have a right to the Western hemisphere. They also know that the United States is very protective of its western hemisphere, and we don’t as a matter whether it’s Republican and Democrats, want anybody seriously having a presence in the Western hemisphere that would disrupt US interests. So I think Russia likes the idea that they can poke at

that a little bit. But in terms of a threat to us similar to human missile crisis, that’s that’s not the case.

Speaker 1 Give us an update, what’s going on in the Suez Canal and uh in the Red Sea? Are are we still Are they still blocking our cargo ships and our oil uh uh from going through?

Speaker 2 Yes, most definitely. The the Hooties have continued to conduct attacks against shipping in the area. They just about every single day. Uh, they’re firing some kind of rocket or a missile uh in the vicinity of ships that transit the area. That that’s that’s a fact. They they have hit a number of ships and they have sunk one. Uh.

They even have fired at our warships uh with conventional rockets, but one time actually used a ballistic missile that came within seconds of the United States destroying that missile. So this is something that the hoofies have done. The United States has only permitted the United States LT capability to try to defeat the systems that are firing at us.

In other words, we are in a completely defensive role here and what the United States has not done and the administration will not permit. The Commander in Central Command, who the US command that oversees this, I can tell you for a fact because I spoke to him myself.

He has provided numerous targets inside of Iran that he believes that we should be hitting to discourage the Hoofies from doing this, because it’ll the Iranians will shut it down if they believe that they’re going to lose inventional military capability as a result of the United States attacking.

I’m not talking about going to war with Iran. I’m talking about limited measured attack very similar to what Ronald Reagan did in the nineteen eighties against Irgc military bases in a limited fashion, and as a result of that, the Ironomians shut down trying to interfere with Persian Gulf shipping, which they were doing at the time in the late eighties.

That is something we should be doing We’re in a completely defensive crowdch here, John, and that is why the who this keep doing this and then I keep doing it because our policy is feeble.

Speaker 1 I agree with you one hundred and ten percent. Generally, if I was in charge of if you were in charge, how many days would it take you to clean the place out?

Speaker 2 Well? The reality is the strategic component we in the Middle East is Iran. The Arab nations recognize that. That’s why they want to normalize relationship with Israel so they can work in a coalition of states with the United States to oppose the Iranians. The result reality is though this administration has failed to putt the rose on who

really is the issue here, the Iranians. If it was me, I would go right back to the Trump sanctions. We had maximum sanctions on Iran. Put to economy in a tank. Let them know that we’re going to continue to do that until they ease up on the throttle. And certainly anything that they’re doing like support of the Huthis attacking

US capabilities in our ach Assyria, we should be return in kind a strong message to them militarily to shut them down. I’m not talking about going to war with Iran and hitting targets into Iran or the capital, which would indicate some kind of an invasion. I am talking about punching them in the nose to get their attention

and shut them down, but most significantly work against and confront Iran, not continue to do this diplomatic appeasement strategy which the bidens. The Biden administration has tried for closet to four years now. And look what we got. We got about the Middle East completely destabilized with the Iranians and their proxies.

Speaker 1 I agree one hundred and tempercent. We got about a minute left. What else do we want to tell you American people on the Sunday morning, Well, just to.

Speaker 2 Mention the fact that the United States is in the most dangerous situation we have been in since the end of World War Two. We’ve got war in the Middle East, we have war in Europe with supporting efforts in both of those with Israel and Ukraine. And President she is threatening war in the Pacific if Taiwan doesn’t capitulate. The

possibility of the United States being directly involved in the war in more than one reason, not just supporting another country, but directly involved in ourselves is very real. These are dangerous, serious times, and the administration will not tell the American people the seriousness of what has taken place and developing an adequate plan to do something about it.

Speaker 1 General, thank you so much for doing everything you did for our country and continue to speak out for our country, and we’ll catch up with you again real soon.

Speaker 2 Thanks John, always great talking to you and your audience. Thank you
