Speaker 1 What is today is Ed Cox, the New York State chairman of the GOP, to find out how the pulse of the situation is going in New York, Ed give us a reading on New York state politics, national politics in the Republican Party.

Speaker 2 Well, you know, we learned something that the big fundraiser that you and John Cassel hosted raised more than two million dollars for the US Senate races. And the senators there were very vocal about the good job that was being done by their chairman, Steve Danes with with with with President Trump in selecting candidates and endorsing them and

getting them through the primaries. We’ve got excellent row nationally. Of the Senate candidates, the most recent was Sam Brown that just got endorsed. He won the Nevada primary. He is the choice of both the Republicans in the Senate and also of President Trump or Tim Sheehey and Montana Tom McCormick. In Pennsylvania, Larry Hogan’s an interesting one. Here’s

a Maryland which is a very blue state. But he was a very successful governor and he is convinced to run for a US Senate and he was endorsed by Donald Trump, but he’s not endorsed Donald Trump, which is very interesting, which shows Donald Trump is looking for winners.

Speaker 1 Now, wow, Normally President Trump would have gone ballistic for not getting indorsed exactly.

Speaker 2 And here in New York we’ve got Mike Zapracone who was endorsed by Donald Trump, even though he gave a thousand dollars to Tiss James, the attorney general who’s been going after President Trump. But he gave that in connection with selling his business. He ran into attorney general. And Donald Trump understands that when the turneys in the last

year trying to do something in business, you better go ahead.

Speaker 1 And do it.

Speaker 2 So we gave a thousand dollars and Trump understand that, understood that, and endorsed.

Speaker 1 Well. I still have a copy of a check that President Trump. But that time Citizen Trump gave me a thousand dollars for Jerry Nadler exactly that.

Speaker 2 Look, when you’re in business in New York, the way the Democrats control this state, you gotta do it.

Speaker 1 Uh tell us, Uh. Well, Congress and the Senate, it looks like the the Senate is going to be very strong Republican wise.

Speaker 2 Yeah, the Senate is probably a good majority. There are seven seats it up, and with the Sam Brown winning the Nevada primary and Tim Sheehey and Montana Tom McCormick in Pennsylvania, these are good candidates. We could end up with a nice majority of four three or four.

Speaker 1 Maybe, especially West Virginia. Yeah, yeah, I think the guys leaning by forty points or something.

Speaker 2 Now. That is absolutely solid.

Speaker 1 The Congress might be a problem.

Speaker 2 It runs through New York. We’ve got seven competitive seats here and we’ve got to win them all if we’re going to hold on to the House of rep We’ve got a majority of one in the House of Representatives.

Speaker 1 That makes it pretty close.

Speaker 2 That’s pretty close, and the other races are kind of even New York. If we don’t hold ontour seats, we don’t hold on to that majority in the House of Representatives. And President Trump understands how successful he was in the first two years of his of his presidency when he got a lot done. He got tax reforms, he cut

slash regulations, the economy took off, inflation was low. But that’s he could do it only because as president he had both Houses of Congress of the Republican Party working with them.

Speaker 1 And gut feeling and President Trump is gonna do what he wants to do. Who uh President Trump may be leaning towards for a vice president.

Speaker 2 I know this one thing. He’s got one and one criteria, only someone who can be president of the United States and will be perceived that he can be president of the United States. So you apply that each of the candidates and you come down to to only a few who really have that kind of that that that kind

of of a of a quality to them.

Speaker 1 Egg Tox, New York State chairman of GOP. Thank you so much for your updates and we’ll catch up again real so.

Speaker 2 Alwa it’s good to be pleasured with you.

Speaker 1 John, Thank you
