Speaker 1 Sunday morning. The Republican Convention is over well with us. Today is Bob Hoogan and he is the Chairman of New Jersey and let’s find out what happened in the convention and an update on what’s going on in New Jersey.

Speaker 2 Bob Hoogan, Hey John, listen, good to see you or talk to you. And you know, thanks for doing what you did to make sure the convention got off to such a great start by having the archbishop there to do the opening prayers at opening the convention and blessing it.

Great job. And I have to tell you I went with fairly high expectations this was going to be a good convention because I had been there a couple of days before to the R ANDC meeting a week and a half ago, and a lot of the issues and all lot of the work was done then, so there

wasn’t that much work to be done at the convention. It was spectacular. The energy and the enthusiasm is something we haven’t seen in the Republican Party of the Unity in a long time. And I forget which Democratic commentator was saying, oh man, I’m worried about this, and even last PAULK. Cogan was saying, it.

Speaker 3 Sounds like Madison Square Garden where we got the crowd going crazy, this is this is this is like the ninety eighties and Madison Square Garden. Wwe And it was just exciting to be there. It was so reassuring that there are so many patriots in our party that want they want to be Democrats, yes, but they want what’s

right for America. And it was just so wonderful to have so many people unified talking about the same thing. Let’s restore America, let’s make America great again. And and what that shouldn’t that shouldn’t be any Democrats, independence, everybody should want to make American great, make America great again.

You know, I can fight against Republicans, we can’t fight against making America great again. It was it was a wonderful experience. I’m so happy that we had a great continues in New Jerseys there in New Yorkers, Connecticut, we all worked together. We had we had a bunch of parties together with New York and Connecticut and other places.

The unity is real, not just bone phony boloney at the circles level for TV, great great speakers. The one speaker I want to tell you and the audience to really look at it. Get the clip. I’m going to send it to everybody. There’s this woman Amber Rose in Philadelphia. Model.

Speaker 2 I never heard of her. She was a tattoo across her forehead. Give my kids. The other people probably know her. Beautiful, beautiful woman. Her speech, I think it was Tuesday night, was unbelievable. It was a woman who said I never liked Donald Trump. In fact, I might have hated him, and my father told me give him a chance to

look at him. I did the work, and he really is a good man. He’s a good father, a good grandfather. He cares, loved the country. She gave the Yarden wife, women and people who are not given Donald Trump a real good chance should reconsider it. Amber Rose. Get the copy of that clip. That seven minute, six minute speech

she gave. I think it was so well delivered, but most important, the substance was spectacular. There were so many great speakers. Nikki Haley was good. Jadie Vance, who I consider a friend and the guy that I’ve known for quite a long time now, Uh a good man and he gave a great talk. I think he’s I think,

and he’s a wonderful choice as vice president because you know the president. President Biden is way way over the hill. President Trump’s not over the hill at all. He’s with us every day and a tough, tough man. He showed it last Saturday.

Speaker 1 Absolutely the thing the thing we uh you found out it’s not about age, it’s about the something wrong.

Speaker 2 With the man. Yeah, well we saw that debate. There’s something wrong with one of those guys. That is a sad thing. And I have to tell you, John, I really hope he doesn’t drop out or I know hopefully, you know, hopefully he hangs in there, because this guy is a loser. He’s going to get his ass kicked

so badly. And any change, you know, we’re going to beat anybody because they put up Kamala Harris, anybody else. And I don’t know by the time that this show is on, if you know this is going to be a change, But I hope not. But whatever it is, we’re gonna we’re going to beat them all. But I

just think we want to make everybody knows the Republican Party cares about the worker. Who we care about the common person. That’s what it matters. It’s the middle. We can help rebuild the middle class in this country. It makes everybody better. It makes people who need the government for support better, It makes people at the upper end

of the income spectrum better. Helping the middle class be successful makes everybody successful. And that’s what the mission of our party should be. And that’s what it is.

Speaker 1 I’ve said, Advances Committee, I’ve said, you know what I’ve said, I’ve been saying for the last year. President Biden has made the poor people poorer, and he’s made the middle class poorer.

Speaker 2 Yeah, and we don’t have to worry about the wealthy people. Those people us will take care of ourselves. Don’t worry about us. We’ll take care of us. Do what’s right for the middle class. It benefits everybody, and that’s what this party is going to do now. And Jade Vance is a great spokesperson for that. He knows what it’s

like to live a tough life. If you heard his speech. His grandmother who raised him, when she when she died, she wasn’t that mobile. They found nineteen loaded weapons in her house because she was going to defend her family and defend her property. Just what a life story if you have If people haven’t read Hillbilly Elogy or haven’t

seen the movie that reading the book is even better than a movie. That’s a man who’s lived the American dream. Drug addicted mother now clean. Next January ten years and hopefully, as he said in this speech, celebrated a ten year anniversary for sobriety in the White House, that would be a wonderful, great thing to do. It was a great week,

great thing for the party, and hopefully really great for our country.

Speaker 1 I’m glad. And let me tell you I watched it on television the last three nights and it was wonderful. And give me an update. What’s going on New Jersey? What the heck is going to happen with Menendez? What’s going to happen with the US Senate race.

Speaker 2 Well, let me tell you about Menendez. So first thing is, you know, I ran against the guy six years ago, and nobody believed me that the guy was a crook. Was like democrats and dependents now saying, oh, we’re so sorry.

I said, well, you’re the dopes. I don’t care my life. I have a great life. But I do want to say the guy deserves to peel his sentence to the full end of it. And I’m saying that really for selfish reason. I believe this because anybody’s convicted of the crime in the federal court, about fifteen percent of the

of the of the results convictions get at least some kind of a pellet review where there’s either a new trial or some modification. So he deserves it. But it’s also selfish for Republicans. Any Republican senator that’s votes to expel him will never get another penny from me, because we want him in Congress for as long as in

the Senate for as long as possible. We don’t want Murphy to give anybody else an advantage by making them an incumbent or something and then running as a sitting center, a bunch of crap like that. Let him, let him, let him stay in the news, let him stay in the Senate. Do not vote to expel him. Let’s keep

the three quarters of the vote I think to expel them, or two thirds anyway. They can’t get it without Republicans. Republicans don’t go to a stone. They have to live with this crook with with gold bars and one hundred dollars bill stuff in the procket all throughout the campaign.

Let’s not let him. Let’s not let him off the hook. They put up with this guy, they forced him to be re elected last time. Let him live with him, don’t. Let’s all let him off the hook. That’s one Secondly in New Jersey, I don’t. I’m actually always a practical and realist guy. I know you had Curtis bash on

recently on w ABCB WABC, the great station. That’s unbelievable. I’m hearing just as like people. Everybody’s tuning into the station now crazy. It’s wonderful, and you had him on. I don’t want to say that New Jerseys a tough day.

Things are getting better until Labor Day. It’s tough to really tell. But right now the polls are looking very exciting, where President Trump has maybe down three or four points, Curtis has maybe down four or five points, and so it’s very possible we could have a real shocker in New Jersey. But I don’t want to. I don’t want

to get people’s hopes up outside of New Jersey. I want New Jersey people will focus hard make it happen. Come Labor Day, if we can have the same poll numbers we have, then we’re gonna have to really kick button, make it happen and win it for them. So we’re gonna work hard the next couple of months, help him

raise some more money. Needs more money. It’s always tough for Republicans in New Jersey. He’s got to get out to get his name better known. You know, he’s from Kate May needs, he knows a lot of people, but we got to get him better known. So thank you for having him on. We’re gonna make it happen and

we’re gonna win and so but you know, we got to make it happen. Talk to Sep and we got to bring results happen.

Speaker 1 Bob Houlden, thank you for coming on this Sunday morning, and we’ll catch up with you again real soon. Thank you for the update on New Jersey.

Speaker 2 God bless you, John, talk to you soon. Thank you,
