Well, this week we have Astraates Morpagan, who comes from a family of diner owners, Greek diner owners, and that’s a dining breed that’s opening up a twenty four hour diner stratus. Give us a what’s going on in New York City?
Hey, John, thank you for having me. Yeah, you know, third generation Greek restaurant tour, and during COVID, I saw so many of the Greek diners, the twenty four hour diners fall by the wayside, and it’s unfortunate because that’s something that we’re very proud of as us Greeks, something that we created and when we battled all the big
brand aid franchises, the Greek diners did the test of time. So, you know what, I got a great opportunity from taking a location that was a twenty four hour diner for thirty years. The man retired, and basically I wanted to bring back diner twenty four but I wanted to bring it back with like twenty first century technology because I
think diner twenty four or twenty four hour diners is still a big brand, and it’s part of the fabric of the New York City culture that I wanted to bring back.
Well, and tell us where is it? I mean, if I were, if it’s two o’clock in the morning and I’m hungry, where do I go?
It’s two eighty three Third Avenue. It’s at the corner of twenty second and third Avenue in Manhattan. And yeah, twenty four hour breakfast, twenty four hour burgers, twenty four hour sandwiches and salads, bringing back that old school Greek twenty four hour diner back to.
Manhattan straateis I’ll see you at three o’clock in the morning one of these days. Thank you so much, and we’ll catch up again real soon. Thank you.
