Speaker 1 Sunday morning. Well with us today, Senator Ashley Moody, And she has a lot of things on our mind. And she’s one of the best senators pledge he has and she’s from the great state of Florida, and she hasn’t forgotten how to say, come on down, well, Senator, what’s on your mind on a Sunday morning.

Speaker 2 Well, thank you so much for having me on. I know that you are always interested in what we’re doing to promote the next generation of leaders in this country and still pride and strength among our nation. And I just introduced a bill called the Pledge Act, which requires the opportunity for students in our capital, right in DC,

to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Right now, there is no law, no ordinance, nothing that requires kids be given time to recite the pledge. Even though over forty five of our states require this, it’s not in our capital, which you know, if you’re paying attention to DC and how much of a radical turn it has taken, it

shouldn’t surprise anyone. But we want to make sure that we are pushing back against any anti American wave this country, especially as the DSA sets out to target our children and especially in our nation’s capital. We want to make sure we’re instilling them pride and respect for all things.

Speaker 1 Ussay, I can understand that, but I can you know, I can understand we should at least know who don’t want to pledge agency the United States. And if they don’t want to pledge allgency in the United States and their migrants, well maybe they shouldn’t be banquens.

Speaker 2 Well in d C. What was so interesting? You know, since becoming one of the nation’s newest US senators and working here in DC, I’ve met many parents who are working here and trying to raise a family, and they were shocked that their kids are not not only are there not flags in the classroom, but their kids aren’t

required to take a moment or even given the opportunity to recite the pledge. And they said, but they are taught to be activists, and they’re taught all of this other, you know, woke radical ideology, but they’re not given an opportunity to say the pledge. And I really think that now more than ever, as we are and other segments

of our country the I’m democratic, I’m doing quotes around that word democratic, socialist next generation against their own country. I just heard one of the co chairs of the DSA say brag about one of her speeches where she’s like, yeah, that was my speech where I said America is the bane of human existence. And I couldn’t believe that that

is what is winning elections in the Democratic Party. It is shocking to me. And when I see a stat like fourteen percent of eighteen to thirty four year old don’t have extreme pride in our country. Fourteen only let me rephrase that, only fourteen percent have extreme pride in our country.

Speaker 1 You know.

Speaker 2 You compare that to the baby boomers and older Americans, it’s over seventy percent. We have a problem if we don’t start getting our hands around this. So I am really proud to introduce the Pledge Act again. It just gives the opportunity for kids in our nation’s capital to recite the Pledge every day, as is required in over

forty five of our states.

Speaker 1 Well, I think it’s a good idea. At least we’ll know who’s with us and who’s against us at least, and anything else you wanted to tell us from the great state of Florida, I mean, how are people still moving in into.

Speaker 2 Absolutely you know, I’m so proud to be the Senator from the great free state of Florida. We like to say it is the place where many of the New York residents have relocated, and I’m proud to now represent them as their senator. They’re seeking a bastion of freedom.

But you know, I’m so proud of the work I did as Attorney General. I worked with Governor Desantas to keep that a state that acted according to common sense and understanding what government is supposed to be, probably more importantly, what government is not supposed to be. And because of that, we are breaking records and pretty much every segment you

can imagine in a prosperous state, from education to tourism to new business formation, entrepreneurship. You know, if you stick by the policies that made this country great, you remember how government is supposed to protect its citizens and be good stewards of taxpayer money. I mean, we’re reducing our debt, we’re cutting taxes, we have a surplus. I wish let

me rephrase that. I am intent on bringing that same mindset and blueprint to Washington, DC as one of the nation’s newest US senators.

Speaker 1 That is a good News Santa Actually, Moody, A lot of companies are moving from New York to Texas and New York to Florida. Now you’re going to be competing with Texas. What can you tell the people in Texas why they should move to Florida or the people in New York why they should move to Texas to Florida

instead of New York.

Speaker 2 You know, I tell everybody Florida is frenemies with Texas. We are very similar in our approach to governance. But we definitely think that we are a great state to be in, and certainly that is reflected in so many moving to our state. I am so proud at Florida.

Was previously Florida’s Attorney general that when other states were just going mad when it came to the safety, security and stability of their cities and counties, we took the opposite approach. When they threw up their arms or blamed stores for not having more security when they had too much crime, not the actual criminals that were committing it.

We stepped up. We said what can we do to help? We recruited officers from all over the nation. We gave bonuses, signing bonuses to our officers. We helped them get homes in the communities that they served and loved. And because of that, we don’t have the vacancy rates that they have around the country. We have people wanting to serve

and stand on that line to protect citizens in Florida. You know, a lot of people don’t remember this, but when our founders signed the Decoration of Independence, they weren’t only saying our government will preserve the rights of life, liberty, and property, and that is why we are setting up this government. They also said we should set up a

government and in order to do that should ensure safety. And a lot of people have forgotten that not only protecting the individual rights of people, but protecting their safety. We have not forgotten that in Florida, and certainly as the Senator from the Free State of Florida, I am fighting for that every single day.

Speaker 1 I am glad you pointed that out, that it’s part of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution or whatever, and well, you know, keeping people safe. People want their kids to be safe, their grandkids to be safe, their wives to be safe. And thank you for everything you do, and we’ll catch up to you again there real soon.

And I go. I’m going to go to church today in light a candle.

Speaker 2 Great to be with you, Thank you for inviting me, and hopefully I’ll be with y’all again Star
