Speaker 1 Sunday morning. Well, people are panicking in New York City. Well, they’re receiving bills from the city that if they don’t answer their bill by August twenty first, I think it is well, they may get a big tax bill with us.

Today is Suzanne Miller, and she’s the founder of the Empire State Properties, a boutique real estate firm located in New York City. And well, Suzanne Miller, you’re one of the most knowledgeable persons in our city about what the heck is going on. Fill in our millions of listeners.

Speaker 2 Well, John, Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of names were listed publicly listed on a website from the Department of Finance telling people you’ve got mail. So it’s a pair to tear tax that you and I talked about many times.

Speaker 3 And the numbers is going to be affected for July.

Speaker 2 People have to pay retroactive and the numbers are astonishing. Never mind even the numbers. It’s the invasion of privacy. It’s a scare tackets, and it is a it’s welfare, it’s a war welfare against the middle class in New York.

And I think there’s going to be a lot of lawsuits it’s people like John Paulson’s name are on it, Woody Allen’s name is on it, Taylor Swift’s name is on it.

Speaker 1 And does it have their home addresses?

Speaker 3 Yes, it has everything.

Speaker 1 John So in other words, by having their home actresses, they could have people in the Socialist Party going pickt them.

Speaker 2 Well, yes, they could picket them like they did in front of Ken Griffin’s house. And you’re going to see a lot of lawsuits. You’re going to see a lot of appeals. Already, attorneys are getting ready to appeal this because people’s name that are on this list are primary residents.

So it’s just an arbitrary list. It’s not even accurate. And I think that we’re going to see My biggest concern is I started my business thirty years ago on knowing that New York is comprised of investors corporations, and this is who attracts New York. If we attack the investors, it’s like a gym membership. Don’t you want people that

are not going to use the gym to come here so we’re attacked.

Speaker 1 I want people from all over the world to come here, from from Japan, from China, from India, from Germany. I mean, I want New York City is a world capital.

Speaker 2 Yesterday alone, John, three of my deals canceled. Three people that were from one was from India, one was from China, and one was from Japan.

Speaker 1 Pretty fir Oh my god, I didn’t even know that.

Speaker 2 Most of my clients are investors from all over the world and they are now canceling deals because it’s whatever the reality is.

Speaker 3 People are more nervous.

Speaker 2 Than the reality, so they don’t they think that New York is being attacked. They’re going to wait, and what it’s going to do is is going to drop the prices.

Speaker 3 I predict we’re going to have.

Speaker 2 This is awful for me to say, as owning a real estate company for thirty years in New York, but there’s going to be a price correction because.

Speaker 3 People are going to think that they can get things.

Speaker 2 For I would say thirty percent less very quickly, because of just the amount of inventory that’s going to come on the market. Because landlords are going to sell because they’re nervous, so you’re going to see an exodus. And even if you don’t sell, because it’s expensive to sell, you have to pay brokerage fees and closing fees and

transfer fees, but you won’t see new people entering the market. And New York you have to have people keep buying in order to keep it flourishing. So this is it’s an attack on the middle class, it’s an attack on the wealthy, and it’s an attack on capitalism, and it’s an invasion of privacy.

Speaker 3 And for me, I want to see how this shakes down.

Speaker 2 But the numbers alone or are outstanding, because it’s four percent for one million and one hundred dollars of an apartment, that’s four percent. That’s forty thousand dollars more a year that somebody purchased a property for that has no idea, that didn’t know this when they first bought it.

Speaker 1 To active to July. And I understand from one of our hosts last night on the five o’clock Show a couple of days ago that if you don’t answer it by August thirty first or August twenty first, and a lot of people are away in Europe, especially the people on Park Avenue, that you’re gonna get a bill and

it’s gonna be part of your system. That the bank didn’t call you, says you’ve got a bill on your.

Speaker 2 Yes, and I think that especially the luxury market is going to be affected, and it’s already happening, and it seems to be a shakedown. It seems to be it’s almost like a civil war is going to happen here in our city.

Speaker 3 And it’s a shame because we love New York.

Speaker 2 I never want to bet against New York, but this is a very serious situation and an a vision of privacy.

Speaker 3 So I want to see how this wul shakedown.

Speaker 1 Well, Suzanne Miller, I mean, I, me and you, we will fight for New York. I love New York, I love New York City, I love New York State. But we need common sense to prevail. You know, I don’t need the extreme left, I don’t need the extreme right, but just common sense. Absolutely, we’ll fight, fight, fight, Thank you,

Suzanne Miller, and we’ll talk to you again real soon. Keep us appraised and keep all our listeners appraised, and you always do.

Speaker 3 Thank you, Thank you,
