Speaker 1 Sunday morning, great time for memories. Well, one of my broken tech friends that I went to school with class of sixty six, Anthony Annello, and brought back another friend he brought back Richard facta who has a lot of great memories about WABC, and I figured Sunday morning, it’s a good time to think about Yo. We have the

memories Richard fact that tell me about what you remember from WABC days.

Speaker 2 Well, I’m an elderly person. I’m eighty and I started working at WABC when I was twenty twenty one, twenty two something like that. And I remember Dan Ingram and cousin Bruce and Matt Crowd Charlie Greer from sitting across from at a console, pushing buttons when they wanted to play music, and having a grand old time at the

old WABC studios, which I actually helped to build.

Speaker 1 Wow, now tell me cousin Bruce he was there? Or also who comes to our galas every year? Herboska Anderson?

Speaker 2 Well, Herboscar Anderson isn’t around anymore, is he?

Speaker 1 His daughter and his wife came last year.

Speaker 2 Wow. Wow, herb isn’t one of my most interesting memories because he had a producer named Murray Slaughter and Herb sat there reading the paper. He had beautiful voice, beautiful delivery, and very little interest in what was going on. So Murray ran the show and he pointed to Herb just like he pointed at me, Herb, it’s time to say something, Richard,

it’s time to play music.

Speaker 1 Those were different those days, weren’t they.

Speaker 2 Oh my god? Yes? Yeah, tell me what else you want.

Speaker 1 To tell a million people that maybe listen?

Speaker 2 Well, I actually wrote up a whole bunch of memories, everything from how the water picture got filled to the night that there was a bomb scare and Charlie Greer ran out into the street. I was left holding the fort.

But I don’t know how I can encapsulate all that in such a short period. It was just wonderful years of my life. You know, here I was this college kid or post college kid, sitting in front of all these great DJs who worked for ABC, And yeah, it’s very different nowadays, isn’t it.

Speaker 1 Very very different? Well, on behalf of WABC. Whenever you’re in New York, you’re always welcome to come visit and maybe we’ll put you in the air again.

Speaker 2 Well, you’re a glutton for punishment, but sure, I’m happy to do it.

Speaker 1 Thank you so much, Richard Factor. And now you live in where the great state of Arizona is it?

Speaker 2 Not just Arizona, but Sedona, Arizona. And I know one of your guests last week was Andy Biggs, who, with any luck, maybe our next governor.

Speaker 1 Well give Andy Biggs my regards that he sounded pretty good on our show.

Speaker 2 Yeah, talk to you again real soon. Thank you. Likewise, bye bye,
