Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning with us is former Congressman Charlie Wrangell. But to me, he’s never former, He’s a Congressman Charlie Wrangell, Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, the most powerful committee committee in Congress. Congressman Sunday morning, for drinking our coffee, Give us your evaluation. What do you think of what happened to debate? Give us evaluation? What do you think
has happened with New York State in their primaries?
You tell us, well, thank you so much for calling me on this beautiful Sunday morning. Quite frankly, I have never been more shocked than embarrassed by any presidential debate as I was last Thursday. The truth of the matter is that I have never seen America have two candidates who performed as turbil as both of them, that one
a convicted fellow who has no respect for the truth, for the questions for morality, and the others seems so damn confused. I didn’t even know where he knew where the hell he was at in terms of responding to the moderator. But I saw on Friday his speech that was given by Joe Biden, and I wondered, he was
so far, so on point, so articulate, he was like better than he was in the State of the Union, and I wondered, where the hell was that Joe Biden. So I’m not an expert in national politics, but it would seem to me then forty two states, no matter what happens, are going to vote for the candidate that
they’ve already decided, so that if Trump is in jail, you know, Republicans will vote for him. If Biden is in a nursing home, they’re going to vote for him. It seems to me that we as Democrats ought to concentrate on the seven states that make the difference and to get the guy that I saw after the debate, Biden,
to let them know that democracy is a state and it’s really not the debate, but it’s the program and the future of our great country.
I agree that, But let me ask you, Charlie, President Biden didn’t seem like the debate, didn’t seem up to being able to do four more years. I mean, you feel he can make a comeback.
Well, you know, I would not object to both of the candidate really getting a physical including a mental capacity, because I don’t know what it was deliberate, but it’s clear that Biden was shaky and responding. And you’re right, the one has to think about what happens in the four years. And Trump, I don’t know what he understood,
but he certainly was evasive with most of the important questions. And a person that conducts himself that way, he has I think he ought to have a little evaluation as well. You know, they’re not that far away in terms of age.
But that is the question is what are we going to do in November? And it seems to me that we should not have to make the decision based on the debate, but rather the program and where we want America, where we’ve been and where we want America to go.
There’s no question that we’re number one in the world. The thing is how can we improve and how can we have confidence in our leadership? And we can do that if we bring back the Biden of North Carolina that they have to debate and Biden of the State of the Union, I think we’re be in pretty good shape.
And we only dealing with seven states. John seven states make this electoral college. State has to be reviewed. But between germandry and Booth States and Red States already being predetermined. It just seems to me that the contest is going to be from now until November in seven states only, and that’s where we have to concentrate.
Charlie Wrangel, You’re ninety four years old, but your mind is one hundred percent and I’m glad to hear it. And I always got glad to hear your voice, and I look forward to getting together soon.
Say hi to Margo, and check what be on the mind next week too. You know you never can tell. I will check.
Thank you so
Much, Thank you, buddy, Thank you, thank you,
