Automated transcript · uncorrectedWhat is today is Mario Okonamo, a banker in London, Zurich in New York, and he’s got his ears close to the ground in Europe. Mario, what reports do you have from coming in from Europe today?
So good morning, mister Katsimatidi. So let’s just touch on the fact that the Serbian president, mister Vukich, actually had an interview a couple of weeks ago, and in that interview he actually expressed his concern for the fact that more likely than not, there will be an armed confrontation between NATO and Russia. And the reason he said this
is more likely than not going to happen is because in all his meetings and his discussions, he’s seeing that nobody is actually discussing piece. Everybody is talking up war, and he’s very concerned that this will actually spin out of control and will result in a war. He has said, for his part, he will not commit any people from
his country to this war and he wants to avoid the craziness of a war. He actually puts some numbers out there. He said that you know, a million, five million, ten million people dying is unacceptable to him, and those are pretty scary numbers if you actually think about it.
I’d also like to when you talk about numbers like that, are you talking about a nuclear bomb.
He did not get into the discussion of whether or not there would be a nuclear detonation. He did say that it would be an armed confrontation which would which would create what’s considered a mass casualty event. So I can’t tell you what he was thinking about, but clearly he’s somebody who speaks to the Russians. Clearly he is
someone who speaks to the Europeans. So if he’s voicing these things at that level, he may know a thing or two more than the rest of us. And it is it is very concerning. And on the back of that, there was a British member of Parliament who has actually come out and said he has spoken to certain people
in British or one person in British Intel diligence who has said that there will be a false flag operation which will involve a nuclear dirty bomber detonation somewhere in Europe. That also is very alarming. I don’t know how true it is, but clearly, if he’s a member of Parliament and he’s speaking and saying these things. I would hope
that he’s being honorable and telling us the truth with respect to what the exchange is he’s having with people in the military intelligence establishment are of the United Kingdom. I would like to touch on another thing, and that has to do with President Putin’s recent visit to North Korea, but also more importantly to Vietnam. I think a lot
of people have focused too much on the North Korea aspect. I think the real interesting aspect of this visit was Vietnam, which is applying to join the bricks, as is Thailand and Malaysia. And if you look at a map, you will see that these countries are very close to something what’s called the Strait of Malca, which is a strait
where tremendous amount of trade from Asia makes its way through from the Pacific of the South China Sea into the Indian Ocean and then of course around into the Gulf, the Arabian Gulf, as well as around the Horn of Africa.
I think that President Putin is doing here is he’s slowly starting to look at the map globally and a protracted war, and he’s starting to make strategic plans with respect to choke points he’s in a position. What he wants to do is be in a position where he can control the ebbs and flows of trade globally. And
if you look at also something else that’s very interesting. If you look at a map of Africa and you look at Africa and you see how many countries actually have submarines, it’s very simple. There’s only three. Egypt has eight, Algeria has six, and South Africa has three. And you begin to question, why would in a country like Algeria
have six submarines, two of which were just delivered in the last year, and our state of the art Russian submarines. And once again, if you look at the map, you’ll see where the Strait of Gibraltar is and you begin to realize what President Putin is slowly thinking with respect to geographic positioning.
Understood, anything else you have to report.
I would like to just touch on one other story which I think is also very interesting and has to do with the Democratic Republic of Congo and the fact that they are considering taking a legal action against Apple for what are called conflict minerals or blood minerals. This has to do with certain earth minerals which are actually
put in various cell phones, and what the Democratic Republic of Congo is accusing Apple of is actually mislabeling their products with minerals that come from Rwanda, which is a neighbor of Democratic Republic of Congo. And what Congo is saying is that Rwanda is funding a movement called the twenty three Rebels who are actually crossing the border and
terrorizing civilian in the Congo and stealing these products, bringing them over to Rwanda, labeling them as Rwanda and then selling them to Apple. Apple of course denies any involvement in any of this and any knowledge of this. But what is interesting about this once again is if you look at the Democratic Republic of Congo, they actually retained
the Wagner Group in December of twenty twenty two, just after the start of the war in the Ukraine, to provide protection to the government and an armed force up there on the border to fight these twenty three rebels.
And now we see that a year later, since the Wagner Group has been involved up there, the Democratic Republic of the Congo is actually saying they’re going to take an action against Apple. We know for a fact that the Wagner Group since mister Progosan’s death now actually reports into the Kremlin as what’s called the Africa Corps. The
Kremlin denies this is true, but if you ask many observers, including people in the United States, they will tell you that, in fact, it is the Africa Core and they do report into the Kremlin. So it’s interesting how the Kremlin and Russia are actually extending their tentacles all over the globe geopolitically, and they can actually make life very difficult
for many countries in the West, specifically not only militarily but also economically.
Mario Konama, thank you for the update. We’ll catch up with you again real soon.
Thank you. Enjoy your day.
