Speaker 1 What is today is Peter King, former Congressman, and I wish he was current congressman. Twenty eight years in Congress, always speaking out for America, always speaking out for New York. Congressman King, Sunday morning, what do you have your mind on?

Speaker 2 Trying to tell you? To me, the worst news of the week was that Daniel Penny was indicted in charge of manslaughter. And here’s the person, to me is the good samaritan. He did what every American, every good person should do. He show people whose lives are being threatened.

He show a person who was obviously a serious mental patient, but it was threatening your lives of other people who already had warrants. After the rest consulting people, he brought him down, He tried to subdue him. He did subdue him, and then it turned out the person died. But that was not the fault of Daniel Penny, a former marine.

You try to hold him down. Every time he would sort of release his hold, the guy would start in again. There were African American people on the on the car itself. It was a person of color who helped Daniel Penny.

And yet somehow this saying this is a racially motivated crime. Our stopped was saying it was racist. I think our world was turning up side that John. I really think that this is terrible. That we should be giving him a tickets take parade, giving him a medal, not anything like this at all. His whole idea of indicting and

putting him through the criminal justice system and facing it potential fifteen years in jail. This is a grace and it’s really just one more not just that, it is one more example of what’s happening in society. I mean, you always say, in a city of eight of eight million people, in the metropolitan area of over eleven million,

twelve million people, there’s a few thousand who are committing the crimes, or a few thousands of violent mental patients the other ones we should be focusing on, and a society is breaking down. What Daniel Penny did is what we always urged people to do, is you see something, do something, do what you can to protect Edison people.

He did that, and now he faced the prospect of going to jail for ten to fifteen years. Absolute disgrace.

Speaker 1 Everybody in that train thank the man for not getting hurt. And I really like to see the detailed papers. Why they indicted him and for what reason they indicted him. I mean he was trained as a marine to keep American people safe. He saw a situation where he saw the passengers of the train in danger and he jumped in.

Speaker 3 What is wrong with that?

Speaker 2 No, and John, if he wanted to kill him, if you wanted to seriously injure him, he could have done it in a matter of seconds. I mean he’s trained expert martial arts expert. What he was doing was trying to do him and the person keept fighting and kiting and trying to get away. And this was to me

the good samaritan. He did the right thing. And for punishing him, that always going to be bad for Daniel Penny if you’re bad for other New Yorkers. Unifind people very reluctant now to jump in to help their fellow New Yorkers and they’re being intacked, is they’re afraid they’ll be the ones going to jail. It’s terrible, terrible.

Speaker 1 Tell us what else keeps you up at night right now? The budget of New York State. I think we might be in trouble.

Speaker 3 And you tell us, John, I think with New York State, the real issue appears to be unless it was just a book keeping anomaly, but revenue is the way off for the first quarter, well sales tax revenues in particular, And what the reason for that is, I’m not certain.

Speaker 2 It could be the rise of the interest rates have been going on the stay you increase the interest rates, but with revenues falling off the way they are, it’s going to be hard to sustain in the already expensive programs we have without either having tact increases or massive layoff.

To me, the economy is really in bad fake in New York. I think it’s because we are already the highest taxed state in the country because there’s overspending and now with revenue is not coming in. And you know, again one reason why I mean Summer region. One main reason why revenues are forming office. So many people are

moving out of the state, including people who have money, people who have been successful in moving out of the state, and they’re not apreching into the economy. You know, they’re not buying, they’re not su state in the economy, and you can’t blame them for that. Another issue job which is really dangerous, that it really is going to determine

the direction of the country goes in is the indictment of President of Trump. I mean, listen, maybe you couldn’t say that he’s guilty in some of those technical violations, but the fact is there was no harm, there’s no foul.

And to be indicting him and charging him when he’s the leading Republican contendent for president, the former president of the United States, and we know that this type of conduct one way or the other has gone on for a number of years. I don’t think President Trump had any idea he was dealing with a well, was going

to be a criminal statute of espionas he thought he was dealing under the Presidential Records Act was where you negotiate in charge the records conturn you can keep what ones you can’t. And to charge him criminally first of the FBI raiders home, then to have no criminal charges brought against him, it sends a terrible signal to the

rest of the world, at your real stain on American history.

Speaker 1 I saw that seventy six percent agreed that there was strictly political that and twelve percent agree said that, well, he’s guilty, and another twelve percent said that well, they don’t know either way. So it’s seventy six to twelve to twelve. I mean, you can’t take an existing president.

The current president hires a prosecutor to go after his opponent. I mean, give me a break. I mean, it’s horrible.

Speaker 2 Tru The American people see is you have all these allegations against the Biden family and apparently nothing being done as charge prosecution. The fact that Joe Biden himself had records going back over a quarter century or yeah, he is almost a quarter century, which were sitting in his garage and other places, and that special investigation is going

almost nowhere. So it’s a double standard. And we see what happening with Hunter Biden. We see what’s happening as far as the allegations by Senator grassually and are the congressmen about the millions of dollars that people alleged were given to the Bidens where they were not to be decided.

But the fact that there is no evidence at all that any action is being taken on that those are the clear double standard. And if they’re some equal justice under the law and no one being above the law, then they should start up by beginning investigations serious investigations of the Biden family and of Joe Biden’s papers and

in the uses of the country. The Justice Department instead of used this discretion and not brought charges against Lendain and Trump agreed.

Speaker 1 Well, Congressmen, Peter King, Happy Father’s Day. What are you spending their time on Father’s Day? You’re going to see your children.

Speaker 2 I was seeing my son and my grandson, my daughter Fujure of for North Carolin, my granddaughters, then a horse show, and my daughter who now lives in North Carolina. She was down. She’s down the after the horse show. Today, I’ll be spending the rest of the day with my son and my grandson. And my daughter was up during

the week for Father’s Day, so we had like an early Father’s Day.

Speaker 1 Sounds good, and we’ll catch up with you against real soon. We’ll see you on Monday in the studio.

Speaker 2 I’ll be there. And Happy Father’s Day to you, John. Thank you,
