Speaker 1 With us this morning is ed Cox. He’s the New York State chairman of the GOP and he is upset about a lot of things happening in New York. And Ed Cox, give us an update of what’s going on that keeps you up at night.

Speaker 2 I’m glad you asked that question, John, you bet, I’m upset. The Democrats are trying to rig our court system so they can redistrict and re gerrymander the congressional seats for twenty twenty four and make sure that Hopkins Jesteries is the speaker rather than Kevin McCarthy.

Speaker 1 Wow, and are you keeping track of what’s going on? And are they trying to change I know the court’s approved the previous districting. Are they trying to change it again? That’s right.

Speaker 2 We got a special Master in a decision by the highest New York state who redrew their jerrymandard lines and rather than having us in four seats, we won eleven seats in winning eight of the nine competitive seats. We have more competitive seats in New York now than any other major state. And that’s what it should be. You

gotta fight, and we’re gonna have to fight to hold onto them in normal circumstances in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 1 Anything else you would like to tell people of New York.

Speaker 2 Yes, we need to have a real two party system here in New York. You don’t want to have one party that’s controlled by a small faction of the far left people in it and who control the primaries. And what we need is to have a real two party system with a strong Republican Party understood.

Speaker 1 I mean, you need common sense people, and it seems like people from socialist have taking over most of the Democratic Party and we need common sense Democrats to stand up against them.

Speaker 2 You bet, and they will if it’s a big event, it’s a big primary like it was with Eric Adams, where he ran for safe streets, good jobs, and good education. And guess what we’re doing the same thing. That’s common sense policies. You think everyone knew before them. But unfortunately the Democrats they’re not for good jobs. They killed twenty

thousand good Amazon jobs. They just made sure that those didn’t happen in Western Queens. They killed whole industries here, like the natural gas industry that’s not producing good jobs.

Speaker 1 Well, I commended the speaker at the House, Kevin McCarthy for making a deal with the White House and excluded the extreme right and excluded the extreme left. Wasn’t it better just get a deal done.

Speaker 2 That was a good deal. They got that done. But President Biden didn’t want to negotiate at all. Four months and finally he was forced to by a United Party with only a five seat majority. Speaker McCarthy forced him to negotiate, and in the end they reached the deal.

Speaker 1 Thank you, Ed Coxon. We’ll catch up with you again real soon.
