Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning, making New York safer. We have the District Attorney from the great uh Well Borough of Queens, Melinda Katz, and well, da cats, what’s going on?
Well John, first of all, happy Sunday and everybody. And you know, we became aware here in Queen’s County of a gun trafficking operation sending guns into the boroughs of Manhattan, of the Bronx of Queen’s. You know, they were selling guns right out in the open, you know, afternoon sales, afternoon bys. They were selling them in the parking lot
of a target in right in on Cross in the borough of Queens County, right where I take my kids in College Point. And they were happening like one thirty three o’clock in the afternoon. And the members were gang members of the Wendsday at our TDA and they’re facing a heavy prison sentence right now with one hundred and
twenty count indictment. It was a long term investigation, undercover operation bought twenty two guns, undercover operation twenty two operational thirty four weapons. And you know the city’s a little safer today than it was last week.
That is wonderful news. I know. On Friday we had Dat and E in the studio, and he’s making Suffolk County safe. I’m glad you are making New York City safer by doing what you’re doing in Queen’s County. Is President Trump, he’s getting rid of a lot of migrants that are criminals. And you know, I’ve said that to him,
that you’ve got to get rid of the criminals first. Hopefully that will make the whole city safer. What else can we do to make I was with Commissioner Tish the other day and Commissioner said that she’s starting a new pro called the CUE program. Thequ program will assign a person to every precinct for the quality of life,
because I’m more scared of the a bicycle running me over going across the street than i am of a trulp.
But you know, this is a perfect example, John, of what we can do to combat the gangs. You know, those gangs out there that want to convince young people that they are the Chosen family. They are not the Chosen family. And by going after the guns and going after the sale of the guns, you know, at the
same time we’re taking down the gangs as well. You take down the infrastructure and the minute they start to coalesce and get a foothold in the city, we should be dismantling them from the very beginning.
Well, we all agree with you one hundred and ten percent, and we got to bring New York back because I don’t want people moving to Florida. I have no customers left for my stores.
Well, we can only do what we do here. And I have to tell you that I just want to give a special shout out to the undercovers in the police department, who you know, every single time an undercover goes into a car or a building and does a buy of a gun, they are putting their lives at risk.
It is so important to remember those unsung heroes who do that every day. And we can’t do these investigations otherwise. And the trenda at Agra is making their money in order to further the criminal activity and in order to further the purposes of their gang. We need to make sure that we’re cutting off the finances and cut off
the financial support. And that’s with guns right now and pink cocaine, by the way, it was also there.
Well, thank you so much for what you do keeping New York City safer and We’ll catch up with you again real soon. Melinda katz Da from of the Queen’s County and God bless you, God bless America.
Thank you, John Bybee
