Was it really DEI that caused the tragedy in DC?
Transcript
Automated transcript · uncorrectedWell, lots of things happened in the last ten days in our country. Our country I believe is going in the right direction. And one of the smartest guys I know went to Davos, and he got paid for going to Davos. We have with us, Charlie Gasperino. Go woke, go broke, and there was a big adventure and several
of our banks were criticized. And Charlie Gasparino, you have an opinion.
Well, I did a lot of reporting too when I was there. John. You know, one of the highlights of Davos was and you know, Trump was everywhere. You know, Trump dominated every conversation behind the scenes. One of the highlights of the public part was clearly him calling in and you know, giving a speech where you know, he
said a lot of things about globalism, about DEI, but then he put two of the biggest bankers in America on the spot and one loose, Jamie Diamond. One we were up to jpple Or to chase the nation’s largest bank, and one was Brian moynihan, the CEO Bank of America, who runs the second largest banking And as a matter
of fact, moynahan was in the audience, like specifically where Trump was speaking. I mean, it wasn’t right, was there wasn’t there at the time, And and Trump put it right to him. He said, you guys coluding, You miss the moy hand. And I’m paraphrasing, but just a little bit the quotes of my story today at the post.
You got to stop D banking, conservatives, And what does D banking mean? That means the bank calls you up and says listen, and they won’t tell you why. By the way, this is kind of part of it, the sort of horrible part of the law. We won’t We’re not going to accept your money. You know, you can’t
have a checking account here and goodbye. You know, you to take whatever you have and put in someplace else, put in under your mattress. Flows. We’re concerned. So a lot of conservatives are coming that they’re falling into this D banking matrix. Also a lot of people in the crypto business.
Now I understand, and I don’t remember correctly. I saw, you know, sixty minutes or one of the things that that was President Trump’s wife. Did they close her account?
Yeah, I mean I’m not quite sure about that, but yes, I seem to recall that that Milania has somehow fell into that category. But check me on that. But a lot of conservatives, whether Milania or not, a lot of Conservats and crypto people have And if you, if you follow the logic, you know, you got to you think that, Okay,
maybe these are people that are involved in some sort of money laundering or doing something that various, But often it’s not. It’s what they’re finding is that because of the sort of regulations that were handed down by the Biden by the Obama administration. First it took a break during Trump won, but then down on Biden they become
so strict that if you show any sort of inkling, suppose you take out a bunch of cash that touches off of suspicious suspicious activity report, you can be debanked or like, say you like cash. I mean, for all I know, if Malania did all that she does, she liked cash. I mean, did she get paid in bitcoin?
I have no idea was there a foreign transaction? And they’re pretty sort of ruthless and purely ractional about this stuff. Apparently that they don’t take any chances and they just cance you and somehow this is this is focusing a lot on conservatives and people in crypto. And you know, the crypto part is kind of easy to understand since
the government, particularly the Biden people, think all of cryptos are scan it’s a vehicle to money, you know, lawn, their money for drugs and whatnot. That’s that’s their opinion. I’m not saying I agree with that. Concerns are a little different, you know, you know.
Away, I’m not I’m not a liberal per se, but I agree.
With that too. Yeah, some of it. But there should be like a little more than just we think there should be like proof. So but but again, these these de banking issues become very cut dry, and because you don’t want to take any chances, you just say, forget it.
Let’s just de bank. It’s easier, It’s it’s not worth the gazillions of dollars we’re going to get We’re going to get charged for, you know, by the Fed or the Officer Coal Control treasure currency for the Treasury Department.
So and when it comes to conservatives, a lot of this involves buying guns and things of that nature. Remember Obama put gun manufacturers on his watch list back in the day, and I guess they went back on during the UH during the divide in here, so concerns are complaining.
That’s essentially what I reported on the Post today. It’s it’s not what Trump said to to moynihan and Diamond was not really inaccurate. It may have been a little uh, you know, it might have used some hyperbole because you know that’s Donald style, as you know, John, But it’s pretty much on the money. They admitted it to me,
and you know, they what they want is a sort of relaxation from the various banking where just regulators and the Treasury not to just have to whack out everybody and you’ll face massive fines if they screw up by you know, in a sort of a good faith they make a good faith effort, then they screw up in
the end. So they just don’t have to just, you know, categorically whack out accounts that fit a certain characteristic.
By god, Charlie, Charlie, just a reminder, wasn’t Jamie the one that got hit by by President Obama people with a twenty or twenty four billion dollar fine for JQ. Morgan.
Yes, and that was more for the mortgage stuff as opposed to bank regulation stuff, but you know, as usual, more for than this sort of issue about the banking. But yeah, there was no love loss between Eric Holder in particular and JB.
Diamond.
They met jab from what I understand when they met on this whole issue about JB about bank, about JP Morgan being part of the mortgage collapse, which it really wasn’t. What got Jamie really annoyed is that the federal government implored JP Morgan back in two thousand and eight to take over bear Stearns. And then when Obama got in
there and they said, you probably wouldn’t get dinged for anything banned that happened on the bear Stearns. And then when Obama got in there, they literally were buying because of bear Stearns irregularity that they were forcing and they were forced to take well, they were prodded to take over the company because it was going out of business
and they thought if Jamie Diamond would take it over with JP Morgan’s balance sheet, that would help, say the financial system, which it is one of the bulwarks. But did it is.
Totally between me and you and I guess another million people are listening. I remember I was very good friends. I was good friends with Jamie at that time. I don’t talk to him that often anymore that I I texted him, I say, you can’t say bad things about Obama.
Yeah, I know, I know, and he realized, but he.
Did, and of course the shareholders twenty big in box.
Yeah, you know. I mean, listen, you know, Jamie speaks his mind a lot, you know, let’s say, and he’s.
A great he’s the best CEO JP Bore never had.
Yeah, and he’s the best CEO of the banking business, there’s no doubt, you know. But he does open his mouth. And you know, by the way, he’s a long time liberal, which made that whole, that whole kerfuffle like a little more interesting. You know. My guess is he’s a arded Obama during two thousand and eight against John McCain, and
I bet he did. I bet he stayed neutral the next time around when Obama Rana gets Romney. But that’s the whole the story. This time around, he was kind of back and forth between Kamala and Trump, although he and Trump don’t get along, you know when they meet, so and they have met over the years, so it’ll
be interesting. But you know, Trump’s comments about the banking thing are apparently real. And you know, he comes down to jump balls, why take the chance? And you know, and there’s a jump balls that involve conservatives a lot, because because conservatives by gun gauge and activities that the progressive thing.
It goes down to the bottom line. We’re almost out of time, but he goes down to the bottom line.
I was, I was.
I was on one of the lesser boards of Bank America, and I’m in the oil business. And I got a little bit nervousness once in a while, saying, well, does that mean I’m gonna drop us one of these days?
And but uh, but everything went well and and if they know you, and everything went well, But Johnny know you.
But sometimes they don’t know you.
John And if they don’t know you, you’re in deep crap.
That’s the problem. And you engage in the oil industry, which you know, was deemed a problematic industry by by the progressive left. And that’s what I think Trump and that’s what they admitted to me. And the story is very transparent. I spoke to people both at JP Morgan and Bank in America and it is what it is.
And hopefully this you know, it’s shining some light on this will change, will change it.
Charlie Gasperino, We love you. Thank you for writing that book. Go We’ll go, Brokes. Thank you for helping bring back America along with President Trump and we’ll catch up again real soon.
And thank you John for expanding the debate you only you know how. Thank you so much. Thank you,
