Speaker 1 What the heck is going on in Aubany Well with us today? Is Jody Giglio a good friend, a long islander all her life? And well, Jody your member the Assembly. You were a businesswoman before and you became a member the Assembly to help make a difference. Are you making a difference?

Speaker 2 Well, we’re trying to make a difference. I mean there are a lot of people running around the capital today screaming we need free things. We need free housing, we need free meals, we need free rent, we need free, free, free.

And then there’s also you have the Police Memorial that we had today, which was a solemn ceremony honoring many law enforcement officers who lost their lives in twenty twenty five. So their families come and they do a beautiful ceremony with the governor and the members of the Assembly and the Legislature, and the reef is placed and it’s a

very solemn ceremony with many law enforcement coming from New York State to honor their fallen colleagues. So that’s going on.

Speaker 1 Are we going to have are we going to have any common sense in Aubiting? I mean, all we want. I don’t care if you’re a Democrat. I don’t care if you’re a Republican, but we need common sense.

Speaker 2 I don’t think I don’t see it. I see a lot of policy packed in this budget that are bills that are lousy, bills that don’t support law enforcement, that don’t support business owners, and that just keep digging deeper into taxpayers pockets. So that’s what I see in this policy packed budget that we’re expecting to vote on next week.

Right now, we’re going into a Ways and Means Committee meeting and we’ll be discussing, you know, more spending and temporary spending until a budget is adopted, but you know, worth thirty five days without meeting our satutory obligation of having a budget adopted by April first, and our school districts are awaiting the funding that they’re going to get,

and a lot of other people that are just disenfranchised with state government at this point because the three people in the room, the governor, the Speaker of the Assembly, Carl Heasty, and the Senate Majority leaders to our cousins, are the ones that are deciding what will be in these budget bills and how that affects all the taxpayers

of the state of New York, the unaffordability bills that we’re going to be seeing.

Speaker 1 Understood, anything else you want to tell the all New yorkficers. And will we all pray for New York City and New York State.

Speaker 2 Absolutely absolutely, And you know as we try and do our best and as law enforcement tries to keep our streets safe, and we will keep fighting up here for you and for all of your listeners and for all the taxpayers in the state of New York.

Speaker 1 Assembly Member Judy Jody Giglio, you’re in Suffolk County. Thank you for what you’re doing. Thank you for pushing common sense and opening Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 Thank you, Jim
