Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday morning, Independence Day weekend with us this morning is Bill Staton and he is America’s bodyguard that he calls himself former New York Police Department works to make sure security, make sure people are safe. Well, this is build, this is the Independence Day weekend. There’s been warnings out that lone wolves might be out there. Uh, give us your
estimation of you were with the NYPD for how many years?
Oh? I was? I was in jai line of duty. I was with the NYPD for four years, forced to retire, then went into the private sector under the tutelage of former late Great Jack Maple.
And and tell me how do you feel about the way are people safe walking around these days?
Listen, I could tell you one thing. You know, anyone that’s ever been a victim, when they woke up that morning, they never thought they were going to be a victim. So what do we do. We have our head on a swivel. We have that situational awareness, and more times than not, they would have seen the crime coming or
whatever befell them if they just paid attention.
In other words, don’t go walking around by yourself at three o’clock in the morning.
Well that or like, let me give you an example.
Don’t go into Central Park at three o’clock in the morning. Don’t go down to Riverside Drive at three o’clock in the morning.
Mister c you got it. When you’re walking home and you have that shortcut down that alley at two o’clock in the morning, take the extra five to ten minutes out of your life and go in a wellit area, well populated, keep your head on the swivel. And I would rather be you rude than wrong. What do I mean?
You see some what you believe to be bad characters walking towards you, don’t be afraid to cross the street, to get off the elevator, to walk into a store and say, listen, I’m a little nervous. This is what will prevent you from being a victim.
Understood. So in other words, if you’re smart, you won’t be a victim, and just just be careful. I mean, I tell my kids, I’d rather you pay the extra money and take a taxi or uber instead of riding the subway sometimes, especially at midnight.
You are absolutely right, you see, we all think we’re you know, the young ones, especially what everybody thinks they’re immortal. They don’t think that wolves are outstalking them. And what do wolves or predators do. They look for the weakest prey and this to see. I can’t tell you how angry I get when I see people. It’s like a bubble.
They’re in the cyber world. And then what I call not so smartphones. They’ll be walking around the streets, walking down the streets with the Q tips in their ear, eyes in the phone, not seeing anything that happens around them, something as little as being a pickpocketed, to being assaulted, raped or god forbid, murdered if you are looking with
your head on a swivel. I want people of America to empower themselves and not be afraid to be their own advocate and their own bodyguard.
Understood, what else should we Independence Day weekend? America is headed in the right direction. We’re still worried about New York City because there’s a possible socialist wants to become mayor give us your vision in New York City.
Well, the vision that I currently see is people the younger generation, the ones that sit on the far left. They work on emotion. They think whatever they don’t agree with, as we’ve seen with the murder of the CEO of the healthcare he didn’t agree with policy, He felt it was his right, his destiny to take a life of
another human being. We see these active shooters, We see these people you know, keying are cause because they don’t agree with a certain policy. What I think is missing is back in our day, when you maldoff, where you got wise or you intimidated someone, there was always a threat of getting that retaliatory smack in the mouth. These
kids live in the cyber world where they think they can go off, call people and dox them and do the most despicable things when there’s no payback, there’s no penalty. What I see us getting back to is the old ways where there is a mutual respect and guess what, you put your hand on me, you spin on me,
you know there’s going to be some retribution equal, if not greater than And I think everybody needs to respect each other. What I see happening in Manhattan today is abysmal, and especially the stuff with state runs supermarkets ridiculous. I mean, past this prologue, Look at history, Look at Venezuela, look at all these other third world nations that thought socialism
was going to be what it’s all about. Well, it’s down the toilet and that’s what New York will become unless Americans that believe in America take it back and bring it back to where we need to be.
Well, thank you so much for coming on this Sunday morning. God bless America. I think President Trump has saved America in the free world. Now we have to save New York City. And thank you for your comments on people being more careful. And let’s catch up again real soon.
