Automated transcript · uncorrectedSunday mornings. Well, Independence Day weekend with us as Congressman, Peter King and thirty years in the Congress, and well, how do you feel this weekend.
Peter, John’s great to be with you. It’s great Sunday morning. Listen, anytime an American can enjoy the Fourth of July, it has to be great. It’s a symbol of what the greatest country in the world is all about, the greatest revolution, the greatest experiment that was ever undertaken by mankind. And it’s worked. We have to make sure it continues to work.
So always proud to be an American, especially on the fourth of July when it all comes together at the same time. You know, we have to fight to preserve the rights and the liberties and the opportunities we have because of the Fourth of July, because of being Americans.
And right now in New York and I’m not sazerating when I say this New York City is confronted with the crisis it hasn’t seen before. You know, we always say this election is important, that election is important. This one this year for mayor is critically important because you have somebody running who is basically a Marxist not just
a socialist, but an extreme socialist. Mam Demi after he used for pronouncing his name. In every way, he’s anti police. He wants to basically he had changed the criminal laws. He wants to make it impossible for builders to constructive apartment houses. Everything he’s doing is so opposed to the basic health and structure of New York City. He’s going
to drive jobs out of the city. He’s going to make the city streets less safe. So it’s really important that it’s one thing to have. Honor’s difference is his go way beyond whatever’s been even debated before in the city of New York. To me, it’s important that we stand united, we get behind one candidate. I think there
are two excellent candidate training against him and Eric Adams and Curtis Sleewer. I’ve been a friend of Curtis on many views, but to me, the tough decision is to be honest, I think Eric Adams has a much much stronger chance of winning in November than Curtis does. So for that reason, I’m really encouraging people who stand with
Eric Adams to be able to raise money for him, to work for him. His record has not been perfect as mayor, but it certainly be better than mom and Daddy’s would be. And over the last year or so, we’ve seen crime come down dramatically. Certain the murder rate is now going to it looks as if it’s going
to be, you know, the lowest has been in years and years.
Well, Eric Adams is cooperating with President Trump and the FEDS Tom Homan to get rid of all the criminals in New York. And the criminals are running.
Scared, no, they really are, and sending you a really strong message. And Eric Adams doesn’t have to agree with Donald Trump and everything, but he shouldn’t be fighting with the President of the United States the way other Democrats want to do. And certainly on issues involving law enforcement, involving getting violent criminal migrants out of New York City, every
mayor should be standing behind him. But again, Mandanni, he’s starting about fighting Trump, He’s gonna fight Ice. He’s gonna leave a fight against Ice. So we have Venezuelan gangs and others carrying out crimes, and you have the in the United States wanting to work with New York. You got rid of those gangs and those criminals. And to
think that the mayor would be fighting him. It’s insanity. So and they ever got hims has shown that he is willing to not willing to, he’s anxious to cooperate with the President Trump. We’ve seen the turnaround just in the last several months. So to me, John, this is good.
Well, a lot of people I’ve been speaking to a lot of people that said, ab z anybody but Zora. So I suggested maybe we should do a poll to say, well, there’s three major contenders. You have Cuomo, you have Eric Adams, and you have Curtis. Everybody else is irrelevant. Is that we should do a poll to see who has the best.
Chance trying that That makes sense to me. I would think it would be Eric Adams because he would have many of the mainstream Democrats or conservative Democrats going with him. He would have a large segment, a very large segment of the African American vote, which is extremely important in this city. He would have to me, certainly, your many
Republicans conservatives would vote for him because they see he was a cop, he was captain of the police department. His record the first couple of years could have been better as mayor. There’s no doubt about that. But the fact is, over the last year or so, it’s been really, really good, and he’s really cut himself loose from the
crazy wing of the party. And that’s going to be right now. We have crazy Democrats ruinning the city Council. We’re going to have a crazy socialist being mayor. That has to be stopped right now. The only and also means Somethingsident Trump.
What’s happened, Congressman, is that the uh socialist portion of the Democratic Party has taken control of the of the primaries and they’re controlling the Democratic Party. And I urge all our common sense Democratic friends that they’re going to get the party back.
I agree with that totally. And also John as far as Republicans. The fact is President Trump, when he was asked about the mayor’s race, great rant about how he thinks that Eric Adams is a good man, Eric Adams, a good mayor, Eric Adams is a man that those one has to be done for New York and is
working with him, and he didn’t it’s the only name you mentioned to me. If there’s anything. If that was not an endorsement, I don’t know what it was. And I was certainly, President Trump’s speaking strongly about Eric Adams, So I think that’s the direct direction we have to go in. I know this has to be tough for Curtis.
He’s a great guy. He literally, you know, has put his life on the line from New York City.
He believes in Curtish family. He’s part of w ABC family, and we all support him. But you know, it’s an eight to one democratic city.
Yeah, that is the reality. And right now, Eric Adams is a Democratic mayor. He’s gonna be running as an independent and he will have Again he’s standing with President Trump and Ice and getting rid of the violent criminals, in violent immigrant criminals in New York and that to me is so indispensable, so essential.
Congressman Peter King enjoyed a Fourth of July weekend. Let’s stay safe and celebrate our freedom and God bless America. God bless you, and let’s pray for America.
Thank you, John, you and Margot, and God bless America. Thank you.
