Speaker 1 Sunday morning with us is Joe Ifia. He was working with Freddie Farrar as his economic development person when he was Bronxboro president. He was working with Governor George Kataki and Joe if Yeah, you are worried about the health situation of New Yorkers and please tell us about it. Well.

Speaker 2 Well, John, first of all, I wish everyone a healthy and safe Super Bowl Sunday, UH And secondly, Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and one of the things that we’ve been doing UH is asking our hospital staff and friends.

We’re read in heart issues, especially in minority women throughout the city. There’s been an increase in health uh ART situations and we’re asking folks to not be afraid but see your doctor, get a EKG, go see your cardiologist if you have one. It is important because the numbers have increased. At the same time, just this Friday, John,

we had a legislative breakfast. Now we’re doing this all over the city at various city hospitals, asking for funding to help our hospitals with the issues. Right now, we’re having a flu crisis. Not too many people are talking about it, but our city hospitals have increased in numbers with people with the different viruses that are going around.

We’re asking people wash your hands, see your doctor if you feel a thick and the numbers that have increased also in cancer. Is so important that people check themselves out and see again, going to see your doctor, going to the local hospital. We are in a kind of a crisis right now in New York City and the

health issue, John is hot. If you watch TV, they’re more doctor shows now on television, with programs and more ads on different medications out there and everyone’s getting a shot of this or that. So health has become the priority that’s happening all over the city and the city hospitals are short change. If the governor can help with

the budget and our legislators who have been meeting in the last couple of weeks and will continue next week to deal with making sure that the funds are allocated to help our hospital and the city hospitals are open for everyone. John, They don’t turn anyone away, but we are seeing and increase of numbers throughout the city of

New York with residents and people who are coming in to our hospitals for service.

Speaker 1 Understood, Joey, If you have you seen increase in heart cases because a lot of doctors are saying the COVID vaccines, even though they helped a lot of people, have caused some heart problems in others.

Speaker 2 Yes, there has been a discussion amongst our medical doctors and I’m hoping John that in the following days to come, that you will through your programs, we’ll be bringing some doctors on to have discussions on the health issues that we’re having right now, and hoping that you will dedicate Valentine’s Day on the issue of heart conditions. As we

continue to ask people to were read to get the word out on the importance of what is going on. There are so many effects that are going on. And if you’re diabetic, if you have had cancer treatment and you know you and I have had our health issues that we take care of. You know that I just

came out of remission from prostrate cancer and the diabetes and the ape ones. See all those things come time. The doctors are very concerned because it affects the heart, and the heart is a killer. There’s two good Joe, India, please come back to us and keep us informed of how our inner cities are doing. In health because the

people have to know the truth. And let’s catch up again. Real sir would love to do that. John and I thank you for allowing me to speak on this issue.
